Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus adalah penyakit kronik yang disebabkan oleh faktor genetik, karena kesalahan pola makan, atau gaya hidup yang tidak sehat. Diet Diabetes dan Self management Diabetes menjadi poin penting pada tata laksana DM tipe 2. Persadia (Perhimpunan Diabetes Indonesia) adalah perkumpulan pasien dan keluarga penderita diabetes di Indonesia yang bertujuan untuk edukasi pada pasien DM tipe 2. Persadia bertujuan meningkatkan kualitas hidup penderita diabetes dan mencegah komplikasi diabetes pada pasien diabetes. Analisis situasi sebelumnya menunjukkan pasien diabetes anggota persadia cabang Surakarta mempunyai keterbatasan dalam pengetahuan tentang diet diabetes, self managemengt diabetes, dan tingkat stres dalam menjalakan diet cukup tinggi. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah pengabdian untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan diet diabetes, self management diabetes, dan menurunkan tingkat stres pada pasien DM tipe 2 anggota persadia di RS UNS. Metode yang dilakukan adalah dengan pemberian ceramah, diskusi, dan video edukasi. Sebelum dan sesudah pengabdian dilakukan pemberian kuesioner pengetahuan diet diabetes, kuesioner self management diabetes, dan kuesioner tingkat stres dalam menjalankan diet. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan diet diabetes (rerata peningkatan skor pengetahuan diet diabetes adalah 24,5+6,2), self management diabetes (rerata peningkatan skor self management diabetes 8,2+ 4,34), dan penurunan tingkat stres (rerata penurunan skor 14,5+5,32) pada pasien DM tipe 2 anggota persadia di RS UNS. Secara tidak langsung kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini akan meningkatkan kualitas hidup dan kesejahteraan pada pasien DM tipe 2 dalam lingkungan persadia RS UNS.

Abstract

Dengue Fever is a significant and recurring public health challenge in tropical urban centers, including the city of Surakarta, Indonesia. The transmission of this vector-borne disease is highly sensitive to local climatic conditions, as high rainfall and humidity create ideal environments for the proliferation of the Aedes aegypti mosquito. This study aims to analyze the epidemiological trends of Dengue Fever in Surakarta from 2021 to 2023 and to determine the influence of key environmental factors on disease transmission dynamics. A descriptive epidemiological study was conducted using secondary data on reported Dengue Fever cases across Surakarta's five sub-districts: Laweyan, Serengan, Pasar Kliwon, Jebres, and Banjarsari. Incidence rates per 100,000 population were calculated and correlated with monthly rainfall and humidity data. The results showed significant fluctuations in incidence, with a major surge in 2022, when 166 total cases were recorded. The district of Laweyan recorded the highest incidence rate that year at 134.59 cases per 100,000 population. This peak strongly correlated with high rainfall and humidity during the first quarter of 2022, which provided optimal mosquito breeding conditions. In contrast, 2021 had the lowest incidence amid drier conditions. These findings confirm a strong association between climatic factors and Dengue Fever transmission in Surakarta. High rainfall and humidity are critical contributors to the disease burden, underscoring the urgent need for integrated, climate-based forecasting within public health surveillance systems to mitigate future outbreaks effectively.

Abstract

Hyperlipidemia is a major modifiable risk factor for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. Among the available laboratory markers, non-HDL cholesterol and apolipoprotein B have attracted considerable attention as more informative measures of the true atherogenic burden carried by a patient’s blood. 51 hyperlipidemia patients were recruited sequentially for our cross-sectional study at the Clinical Laboratory of UNS Hospital, Sukoharjo. A power calculation for correlation studies (α = 0.05, power = 80%) was used to estimate the sample size. A TMS 30i analyser was used to quantify total cholesterol, HDL, and apo B; non-HDL cholesterol was calculated by subtraction. For every association, Pearson product-moment correlation coefficients with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated using Fisher's z-transformation. There was a high and positive correlation between total cholesterol and apo B (r = 0.881, 95% CI: 0.803–0.932, p < 0.001). There was no significant correlation between HDL cholesterol and apo B (r = 0.082, 95% CI: −0.196 to 0.349, p = 0.566). Apo B and non-HDL cholesterol had the highest correlation by far (r = 0.938, 95% CI: 0.896–0.963, p < 0.001). In hyperlipidemic, non-HDL cholesterol followed apo B more accurately than any other parameter, supporting its usage as a useful, affordable substitute for apo B in situations when direct measurement is not possible. To strengthen these relationships, larger, prospective, multi-center studies that account for important variables are required.
