Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of dayah accreditation bodies in Aceh as instruments for improving the quality of Islamic religious education. The study employs a library research approach with content analysis of scholarly articles, research reports, local regulations such as the Qanun Dayah, and other supporting documents. The findings reveal that the accreditation process has significantly improved dayah management, including the implementation of more systematic documentation, data digitalization, and increased transparency and accountability. Accreditation has also strengthened teachers’ professional competencies through training and fostered a culture of continuous evaluation. However, challenges remain, such as limited human resources, internal resistance to change, administrative burdens, and potential biases that emphasize document completeness over substantive educational quality. Public and stakeholder perceptions of the performance of dayah accreditation bodies are generally positive, as accreditation is viewed as enhancing public trust and the reputation of dayah institutions. Nevertheless, criticisms arise concerning insufficient public dissemination, limited transparency of accreditation results, and concerns that uniform national standards might diminish local cultural identity. The study concludes that dayah accreditation should not be merely an administrative formality but can serve as a transformative strategy for educational quality improvement, if supported by substantive evaluations, harmonization of national standards with local values through the Qanun Dayah, education-based public communication, and active engagement of strategic stakeholders.

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the consequences of neglecting a multicultural approach in Islamic Religious Education (IRE), particularly its impact on tolerance and social harmony in diverse religious communities. The research highlights the risks of conflict arising from insufficient integration of multicultural principles and underscores the urgent need for inclusive educational practices. Research Methodology: The study employs a rigorous library research method by analyzing selected scientific journal articles and research reports related to multiculturalism and Islamic education. The approach emphasizes thematic analysis to identify, interpret, and synthesize key concepts, strategies, and outcomes of multicultural integration in IRE. Results: Findings reveal that deliberate incorporation of multicultural perspectives in IRE is highly effective in enhancing tolerance and interfaith harmony. Anchored in the principles of respect for diversity and pluralism theory, success is achieved through inclusive curricula, educator training in tolerant classroom management, and the promotion of multicultural activities. This integration significantly fosters appreciation for diversity, reduces prejudice, and strengthens social cohesion. Conclusions: A multicultural approach in IRE, grounded in diversity and pluralism, is unequivocally effective in creating inclusive and tolerant learning environments. Its systematic implementation can serve as a foundation for preventing interreligious tensions and promoting sustainable harmony. Limitations: The study is limited to secondary data, relying solely on literature without empirical validation. Hence, its conclusions may not fully capture lived classroom experiences. Contribution: This research underscores the pivotal role of multiculturalism in Islamic education as a catalyst for tolerance and harmony. It provides strategic insights for policymakers and educators to strengthen curricula and practices in diverse learning contexts.

Abstract

Perkembangan pesat teknologi, khususnya smartphone, telah membawa perubahan signifikan dalam kehidupan modern, termasuk berdampak pada aktivitas spiritual seperti membaca Al-Qur'an. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji Pengaruh Smartphone terhadap kemampuan baca Al-Quran anak di Desa Jambo Dalem, Trumon Timur. Menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif-analitik, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara terhadap 10 anak pengguna smartphone dan 10 orang tua, serta dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan model Miles dan Huberman (reduksi, penyajian, verifikasi). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan smartphone secara berlebihan berdampak negatif pada problematika membaca Al-Qur'an anak, yang meliputi: penurunan frekuensi (malas mengaji, lebih memilih smartphone), gangguan konsentrasi (terdistraksi smartphone, notifikasi, pikiran melayang), dan penurunan kualitas bacaan (lupa tajwid, terburu-buru, salah pelafalan). Menanggapi hal ini, orang tua menerapkan beragam strategi, seperti pengaturan waktu penggunaan smartphone, memastikan istirahat cukup, memasukkan anak ke pondok pesantren, mendorong pemanfaatan aplikasi Al-Qur'an, serta memberikan motivasi dan contoh rutinitas membaca Al-Qur'an di rumah. Penelitian ini menyoroti perlunya pengawasan bijak dan strategi terstruktur dari orang tua untuk menjaga motivasi dan kualitas membaca Al-Qur'an anak di era digital.
