Abstract

The digital transformation of supply chain systems has intensified the demand for greater transparency and data security. Blockchain technology emerges as an innovative solution, offering distributed, immutable, and verifiable data recording accessible in real time by all stakeholders. This study aims to systematically analyze previous research on the application of blockchain technology in supply chain management, with a particular focus on transparency and security aspects. A systematic literature review (SLR) approach was employed, comprising three main stages: planning, literature selection, and result reporting. From an initial pool of 200 articles, six were identified as meeting the inclusion criteria and were further analyzed. The findings reveal that blockchain enhances product traceability, strengthens data integrity, and reduces dependency on intermediaries. However, its implementation still faces several challenges, including infrastructure limitations, regulatory uncertainties, and a lack of understanding among industry actors. This review contributes to both academic and practical knowledge by highlighting the potential benefits and key obstacles of adopting blockchain in modern supply chain management.

Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) has emerged as a transformative technology in the healthcare sector, offering significant advantages for improving the efficiency and reliability of medical logistics. This study presents a systematic literature review of recent research (2020–2025) focused on the application of IoT in medical logistics. A total of 200 studies were initially identified, and through a structured selection process using the PRISMA framework, six articles were ultimately included for in-depth analysis. The findings highlight that IoT technologies are widely applied in areas such as cold chain monitoring, inventory tracking, real-time asset management, and integration with blockchain and cloud platforms. These applications improve data accuracy, reduce product spoilage, and enhance traceability. However, challenges such as high implementation costs, system interoperability, and data security risks persist, especially in low-resource settings. This review provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of IoT implementation in medical logistics and offers insights for future research and policy development. The study concludes that a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach is essential to realize the full potential of IoT in creating responsive and secure healthcare supply chains.

Abstract

The pharmaceutical supply chain faces increasing pressure to ensure transparency, safety, and efficiency across global operations. This study presents a systematic literature review (SLR) of global tracking and traceability systems in pharmaceutical logistics, focusing on technological innovations such as RFID, barcoding, and blockchain. A total of six peer-reviewed articles were selected based on inclusion criteria through the PRISMA methodology. The results highlight the growing adoption of traceability systems in developed countries driven by regulatory frameworks such as the DSCSA (USA) and FMD (EU). Technologies such as blockchain show high potential in improving drug authentication and preventing counterfeiting. However, barriers such as high implementation costs, lack of infrastructure, and limited standardization continue to hinder adoption in developing nations. The study concludes that pharmaceutical traceability is a strategic necessity for public health and requires coordinated efforts between governments, industries, and global organizations.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the medicine logistics management system at Puskesmas x, Batam City, focusing on three key components: medicine distribution, ordering time and Reorder Point (ROP), and medicine disposal. A qualitative research approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document reviews conducted between March and April 2025. The key informants included the pharmacist-in-charge and pharmacy technicians. The results indicate that medicine distribution follows a structured procedure, applying the First Expired First Out (FEFO) and First In First Out (FIFO) principles to maintain quality and minimize waste. The ROP method is integrated into a computerized system, enabling timely procurement when stock levels reach the minimum threshold. Medicine disposal is conducted according to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), with expired medicines identified, documented, and either returned to the Batam City Health Office or destroyed on-site.Although the system largely complies with the Standar Pelayanan Kefarmasian di Puskesmas, challenges remain, including procurement delays due to central warehouse shortages and occasional expired stock. Strengthening coordination with the Health Office, improving demand forecasting, and establishing contingency procurement strategies are recommended to enhance efficiency and ensure uninterrupted medicine availability.

Abstract

Reliable management of medicines and medical supplies is a prerequisite for high-quality pharmacy services. This study evaluates the performance of a Pharmacy Installation against national standards and identifies priority areas for improvement. We employed a descriptive–evaluative design using an assessment instrument aligned with the Directorate General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices, Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia (2017), covering two components: Resources (maximum 60) and Management (maximum 40). The results show a total score of 92.46/100, comprising Resources 56.06/60 and Management 36.40/40, classifying performance as compliant with the standard. Strengths are concentrated in operational processes (receipt, distribution, recording and reporting), while opportunities for improvement relate to data-driven planning, strengthening organisational/structural arrangements, and tightening inventory-control practices. Practical implications include implementing clear control parameters (e.g., reorder point and safety stock) and item-priority classifications (e.g., ABC–VED) to stabilise availability, reduce expiry risk, and improve cost efficiency. The study provides a comprehensive snapshot of compliance and a direction of continuous improvement for pharmacy installations.
