Abstract

This study examines the stages of religious development in school-aged children (6-18 years) from an Islamic perspective, focusing on the role of education, environment, parents, and teachers. The main argument of the study states that each age phase has different spiritual characteristics: elementary school age (6-12 years) is concrete with the habit of worship, junior high school age (13-15 years) is marked by the search for religious identity through reflection on values, and high school age (16–18 years) leads to the internalization of values into religious attitudes. The study employs a qualitative approach using literature review methods, collecting data from primary sources (exegesis, hadith, developmental psychology) and secondary sources (journals, books, policy documents). Findings indicate that the emotional bond between children and their parents and teachers significantly influences the reinforcement of religious values, particularly in instilling moral values, worship, and role modeling. Evidence suggests that students' spiritual crises often stem from weak religious upbringing from an early age. This study recommends strengthening school-home collaboration, integrating spiritual values into a holistic curriculum, and age-specific approaches. In conclusion, children's religious development requires synergy between parental role modeling, teachers' contextual teaching methods, and a conducive environment. This study contributes to the development of an Islamic education model that balances cognitive, affective, and spiritual aspects.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the form of cooperation between teachers and parents in improving children's responsibility in memorising the Qur'an at PKBM Liwaul Hamdi. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through observation, questionnaires, and interviews. The results of the study indicate that the active roles of teachers and parents are crucial in supporting children in memorising the Qur'an. Positive attitudes, exemplary behaviour, and integrity on the part of teachers and parents are key factors in fostering children's sense of responsibility towards their memorisation. Additionally, intensive communication and the ability to manage emotions in supervising children constitute effective forms of collaboration. This study emphasises that collaboration between teachers and parents not only impacts children's memorisation success but also shapes their character and religious attitudes. Therefore, this synergistic relationship needs to be consistently nurtured in various educational institutions as part of a character education strategy based on Islamic values.

Abstract

This article explores the role of zakat as a central instrument in the Islamic economic system, functioning as a means of wealth redistribution and achieving social justice. Zakat embodies not only spiritual obligations but also economic and social values that strengthen the welfare structure of the Muslim community. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research to analyze both classical and contemporary literature concerning the role of zakat in Islamic economics. The findings reveal that zakat significantly contributes to reducing social inequality, enhancing the welfare of the poor, and fostering social solidarity. The optimization of zakat requires professional, transparent, and digitally integrated management systems. Moreover, productive zakat can transform recipients (mustahik) into contributors (muzaki), promote economic independence, and support sustainable development. Integrating zakat into national fiscal policies also strengthens economic stability and advances the realization of Islamic social justice. Therefore, zakat should be regarded not merely as a religious obligation but as a strategic pillar of the Islamic economic framework that contributes to building a just, prosperous, and civilized society.
