Abstract

The use of traditional learning media such as books and LKPD often causes boredom and decreased interest in learning among students. Prezi-based animated video technology is an innovative solution to visualize abstract materials such as human organs. Developing appropriate and effective animated video media to improve the understanding of 4th grade elementary school students on human organs. Research and development (R&D) uses the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Data collection techniques are carried out through literature studies of previous and relevant scientific sources. Validation involves media experts, material experts, teachers, and students. Data are collected through questionnaires, observations, interviews, and tests. The media is declared very appropriate by media experts and material experts. Student responses are very positive. The effectiveness of the media is proven by the increase in the average pretest to posttest score. Prezi-based animated video media is effective in improving student understanding and is appropriate to be implemented in science learning

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks deskripsi melalui penerapan model Discovery Learning dengan metode Treasure Hunt pada siswa kelas IV SDN Dukuh Kupang IV Surabaya. Penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, setiap siklus terdiri atas tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 28 siswa kelas IV. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes menulis, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan menulis deskripsi yang signifikan. Ketuntasan belajar meningkat dari 35,71% pada pra-siklus menjadi 60,71% pada siklus I dan mencapai 89,29% pada siklus II. Dengan demikian, penerapan Discovery Learning dengan metode Treasure Hunt efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks deskripsi pada siswa.

Abstract

Learning IPAS in elementary schools still faces challenges related to students’ difficulties in understanding abstract concepts, particularly in the topic of the human respiratory system. This condition is influenced by the limited use of interactive and technology-based learning media. This study aimed to develop a WayGroundbased instructional video and to determine its validity, feasibility, and effectiveness in IPAS learning for fifth-grade elementary school students. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research subjects were fifth-grade students of SDN Dukuh Kupang V Surabaya. Data were collected through expert validation, student response questionnaires, and learning outcome tests using pre-test and post-test. The results showed that the WayGround-based instructional video achieved a high level of validity based on material and media expert assessments. The results of small-group, medium-group, and large-group trials indicated that students’ responses were categorized as very good. Furthermore, the effectiveness test revealed an improvement in students’ learning outcomes after using the developed media. Therefore, the WayGroundbased instructional video is considered valid, feasible, and effective for use in IPAS learning on the human respiratory system topic in elementary schools.
