Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyze the extrinsic elements focusing on political dynamics and their influence on the film Al‑Kamīn. This research is descriptive‑qualitative in nature with a library research method, employing extrinsic and literary‑sociological approaches. The findings reveal that Al‑Kamīn, as a form of modern literature, is significantly shaped by extrinsic political dynamics such as historical context, the production process, and the filmmaker’s social position. Much like the politically charged poetry of the Umayyad period, Al‑Kamīn was molded by political interests, as evidenced by the involvement of the UAE government, the state‑owned Image Nation Abu Dhabi, and its collaboration with AGC Studios from the United States. The film highlights military heroism without questioning the political decisions behind the war.Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis unsur ekstrinsik yang berfokus pada dinamika politik dan pengaruhnya terhadap film Al-Kamīn. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif-kualitatif dengan tipe kepustakaan (library research), pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan ekstrinsik dan sosiologi sastra. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa  film Al-Kāmīn  sebagai bentuk dari sastra modern, sangat dipengaruhi secara signifikan oleh unsur ekstrinsik dinamika politik seperti aspek sejarah, proses produksi, dan posisi sosial pengarang film. Layaknya puisi bernuansa politik pada periode Umayyah, Al‑Kāmīn dibentuk oleh kepentingan politik, yang terlihat dari keterlibatan pemerintah UEA, lembaga milik negara Image Nation Abu Dhabi, serta kolaborasinya dengan AGC Studios dari Amerika Serikat. Film ini menyoroti heroisme militer tanpa mempertanyakan keputusan politik di balik perang.
