ABSTRACT The industrial world requires a workforce that not only possesses technical competence, but also a strong work character. The need for competent human resources in terms of expertise and at the same time possessing integrity, discipline, and social responsibility is crucial in this increasingly competitive era of globalization. Vocational institutions as educational institutions that produce human resources ready to work in the industrial world have a strategic role in preparing graduates who are ready to adapt to industrial culture and have strong character. This study aims to describe and develop a character strengthening model based on the Toyota Way values ββ(continuous improvement (kaizen) and respect for people) and the 5R culture (Ringkas, Rapi, Resik, Rawat, Rajin) at the Toyota Indonesia Community Academy (AKTI). The research design used an action research method with a mixed method approach. The research subjects included AKTI students and lecturers. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, questionnaires, observation, and documentation. Data analysis used qualitative descriptive analysis and quantitative descriptive statistics. The results of the study indicate that the integration of Toyota Way values ββand the 5R culture in learning and campus activities has an impact on the character formation of students who are more disciplined, responsible, and have a work ethic and adaptive attitude that is in accordance with the needs of the industrial world. This character-building program has the potential to become a practical model for character development in industrial-culture-based vocational education. ABSTRAK Dunia industri membutuhkan tenaga kerja yang tidak hanya memiliki kompetensi teknik, tetapi juga karakter kerja yang kuat. Kebutuhan akan SDM yang kompeten secara keahlian dan sekaligus memiliki integritas, kedisiplinan dan tanggung jawab sosial sangatlah penting di era globalisasi yang semakin kompetitif ini. Institusi vokasi sebagai lembaga pendidikan yang mencetak SDM siap kerja di dunia industri mempunyai peran strategis dalam menyiapkan lulusan yang siap beradaptasi dengan budaya industri dan berkarakter kuat. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan dan mengembangkan model penguatan karakter berbasis nilai Toyota Way (continuous improvement (kaizen) and respect for people) dan budaya 5R (Ringkas, Rapi, Resik, Rawat, Rajin) di Akademi Komuntitas Toyota Indonesia (AKTI). Desain penelitian menggunakan metode action research dengan pendekatan mixed method. Subjek penelitian meliputi mahasiswa dan dosen AKTI. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, angket, observasi dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan statistik deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi nilai-nilai Toyota Way dan budaya 5R dalam pembelajaran dan aktivitas kampus berdampak pada pembentukan karakter mahasiswa yang lebih disiplin, bertanggung jawab serta memiliki etos kerja dan sikap adaptif yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan dunia industri. Program penguatan karakter ini berpotensi menjadi model pembinaan karakter yang aplikatif dalam pendidikan vokasi berbasis budaya indutri.
