Abstract

Teachers need to implement more innovative and interactive learning methods that align with the learning characteristics of early childhood, especially in introducing hijaiyah letters to young learners. This study aims to explore the use of a Wordwall-based hijaiyah game in introducing hijaiyah letters to early childhood students at KB Agung Kencana, Singosari District. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which includes the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection, conducted in two cycles. The subjects of the study were 11 group A students at KB Agung Kencana. The results showed that the use of Wordwall media increased children’s participation, focus, and learning motivation. Learning outcomes improved progressively, from 55% in the pre-cycle phase to 92% at the end of the second cycle. This media not only made learning more engaging but also helped children recognize, point to, and pronounce hijaiyah letters more actively and enjoyably. Therefore, the use of Wordwall educational games has proven to be an effective medium for introducing hijaiyah letters to early childhood Keywords:  early childhood; hijaiyah letters; wordwall

Abstract

The development of fine motor skills in early childhood tends to progress more slowly than gross motor skills, thus requiring continuous stimulation to reach optimal growth. Children with well-developed fine motor skills generally perform better in academic areas such as writing and arithmetic. This study aims to examine the implementation of a tempe-based cooking class activity in improving the fine motor skills of children aged 5–6 years at KB Agung Kencana Randuagung Singosari, involving 20 students as subjects. The research employed the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method using the spiral model by Kemmis and McTaggart, consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages carried out over two cycles. The researcher acted as a facilitator and active observer, collaborating with the teacher. The observed indicators of fine motor skills included the children's ability to grate, squeeze, mix, and shape tempe dough. The results showed a significant improvement from an average of 54% in the pre-cycle stage to 91% by the end of the second cycle. This demonstrates that cooking classes using local ingredients such as tempe not only provide enjoyable learning experiences but are also effective in enhancing children’s manipulative skills. Future research is recommended to explore other local materials as learning media to support various aspects of early childhood development. Abstract

Language development is one of the important aspects in supporting the child's development process. Children with good language development according to their age will avoid speech delays. The use of Flashcard media as one of the effective ways to improve the language skills of children who experience Speech Delay at preschool age. This study aims to describe how the use of Flashcard media can improve the language skills of children aged 3-4 years at KB Permata Bunda. This study applies data collection techniques through interviews, observations and documentation. The type of research used is qualitative research with classroom action research methods. Data validity checks were carried out using Patton triangulation which emphasizes the interactive and continuous data analysis process during the study. The location of the study was at KB Permata Bunda with 2 boys aged 3-4 years as research subjects. Data collection by providing interventions before and after the use of Flashcard media in children with Speech Delay. Data analysis in this study used Miles & Huberman. The results of the study showed that the use of Flashcard media can improve speaking skills with increased vocabulary, receptive and expressive language understanding after the use of a Flashcard media.

Abstract

Child-centered learning is unique in contributing to early childhood independence. The implementation of child-centered learning requires extra attention from the teacher's side, but from the student's side, it requires focused attention that allows for the absence of teachers in activities. This qualitative descriptive study, which lasted for one year, explained the important role of teachers and parents in the process of early childhood independence using a centered learning approach. The research results show that the role of teachers in the process of increasing children's independence in learning requires a fairly high level of teacher innovation and sensitivity in the process of implementing centered learning. Teachers still need a considerable amount of time to build early childhood independence comprehensively. Starting from sensitivity to students, learning innovation in centers, and communication with parents. Teachers understand the importance of early childhood independence learning will greatly influence the character of early childhood in the future. Teachers' hard work in unique centered learning innovations must be appreciated because it has many complex functions and benefits for early childhood development

Abstract

Abstract

The pre-reading ability of children in Group B at TK Muslimat NU 1 Raudlatul Ulum is still relatively low; out of 17 children, 10 were unable to recognize the syllable cards ba, ca, and da (consonant-vowel). This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of implementing loosepart media based on Project Based Learning (PjBL) in improving children's pre-reading skills. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach with two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection, involving 17 children as subjects. The instruments used included observation sheets and interview guides, analyzed qualitatively. The results showed a significant improvement in pre-reading ability; 95% of the children were able to recognize vowels, consonants, and spell consonant-vowel syllables correctly after the implementation of loosepart based on PjBL. These findings indicate that loosepart media based on PjBL is effective in supporting early literacy development, while also providing an innovative learning strategy that can be applied in kindergartens to enhance children's reading skills from an early age.
