Abstract

Abstrak. Keberlanjutan sumber daya alam menjadi hal penting di tengah pertumbuhan pariwisata, termasuk di Hutan Pinus Rahong, Pangalengan, yang mengalami lonjakan pengunjung. Meski berdampak positif bagi ekonomi lokal, hal ini menimbulkan kekhawatiran terhadap kelestarian hutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui nilai ekonomi Hutan Pinus Rahong menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan metode Travel Cost Method dengan 100 responden wisatawan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan nilai ekonomi sebesar Rp99.602.532.000 per tahun, dengan surplus konsumen sebesar Rp2.766.737 per orang per kunjungan. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya optimalisasi potensi ekonomi hutan melalui perencanaan tata ruang yang baik dan pengelolaan lingkungan yang ketat. Pengembangan fasilitas ramah lingkungan serta kebijakan perlindungan hutan, alokasi dana konservasi, dan promosi wisata berkelanjutan dari pemerintah juga diperlukan untuk memastikan manfaat ekonomi dan kelestarian lingkungan berjalan seimbang. Abstract. The sustainability of natural resources is crucial amid the growing tourism sector, including at Rahong Pine Forest in Pangalengan, which has seen a significant increase in visitors. While this growth benefits the local economy, it also raises concerns about forest conservation. This study aims to assess the economic value of Rahong Pine Forest using a quantitative approach and the Travel Cost Method, with 100 tourist respondents. The analysis revealed an economic value of IDR 99,602,532,000 per year and a consumer surplus of IDR 2,766,737 per person per visit. These findings highlight the need to optimize the forest's economic potential through proper spatial planning and strict environmental management. Additionally, the development of eco-friendly facilities and government support in the form of forest protection policies, conservation funding, and sustainable tourism promotion are essential to ensure that economic benefits and environmental preservation go hand in hand.

Abstract

Natural tourism areas have an important role in preserving nature and encouraging local economic growth. However, uncontrolled tourism growth often causes environmental problems. Therefore, evaluating the sustainability of tourist area development is very important to ensure long-term natural sustainability, by paying attention to aspects of attractions, amenities and accessibility (3A). This research aims to evaluate the condition of the Rahong Pine Forest tourist area to support sustainable development of the area in the future. The approach used is an interdisciplinary approach that combines ecological, social and economic analysis in regional development. The research results show that the Rahong Pine Forest Tourism Area is included in the very high category. This shows that this area has great potential for natural tourism, but there are still challenges in maintaining a balance between tourism development and environmental conservation. From the research results, there are several recommendations to increase the sustainability of the development of the Rahong Pangalengan Pine Forest tourist area in the future. First, provide clear directions to the area to facilitate accessibility for tourists. Second, provide adequate transportation to the area. Third, improve road infrastructure in tourist areas to ensure comfort and safety. With these steps, it is hoped that the development of the Rahong Pine Forest tourist area can be carried out in a sustainable manner, providing economic benefits for local communities, while preserving the natural environment which is the main attraction of this area.
