Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of Pancasila Student Profile values and religious moderation in multicultural education at SMA Muhammadiyah 10 Surabaya. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with the Semi-Structured Interview method, where data is collected through in-depth interviews with 3 groups. Among them are the vice principal who is also the main figure in implementing religious moderation, students as representatives of various religions, and school staff as well as direct observation of educational activities at school. The purpose of this study is to analyze the integration of Pancasila student profiles with religious moderation in multicultural education. The results of the study show that the integration of both in multicultural education is an effort to synchronize in the implementation of inclusive learning. Teachers' understanding of the concept of religious moderation is an important point in creating a tolerant environment. Through learning, extracurricular activities and daily school life, teachers convey knowledge transfer that is closely related to multicultural education. In addition, the implementation of broad-based education with derivatives emphasizes accepting students from all walks of life, every child has the right to succeed, and education adjusts to students' passions are the main factors in running education at SMA Muhammadiyah 10 Surabaya. It is concluded that multicultural education is an important concept and must be understood and mastered by teachers so that it can make students have a high enthusiasm for learning without looking at differences in conditions and backgrounds.

Abstract

This study constructs an alternative epistemological framework based on Qalbun Salim (The Sound Heart) as a Quranic Tarbawi strategy to counter educational dehumanization. Through philosophical analysis of primary Qur'anic sources and classical exegeses (Tafsir Ibn Kathir and Tafsir Al-Azhar), the research reveals that modern education's dehumanization crisis originates from an epistemological failure - the separation of intellectual from spiritual and moral dimensions. The study redefines Qalbun Salim not merely as a spiritual concept, but as an epistemological organ capable of holistic cognition. The sound heart integrates empirical observation, logical reasoning, and spiritual intuition into a unified cognitive process, functioning as the center for comprehensive knowledge. Findings demonstrate that an effective Quranic Tarbawi strategy requires integrating three fundamental processes: tilawah, tazkiyah, and ta'lim. This integration positions heart purification as the epistemological foundation for meaningful, humanizing learning. The research emphasizes the urgent need for educational paradigm reorientation where Qalbun Salim becomes the ultimate goal, necessitating redesigned learning environments that cultivate heart serenity (thuma'ninah) and develop the heart's epistemic capacity. Ultimately, this epistemology of Qalbun Salim presents a crucial response to contemporary education's humanitarian crisis, restoring education as a medium for humanization and guiding students toward complete human perfection.

Abstract

The acquisition of knowledge is a religious commandment incumbent upon Muslims for their own benefit. Yet, student academic burnout arises not only from study load but also from a crisis of meaning within modern educational epistemology, which perpetuates a dichotomy between revealed (naqli) and rational (aqli) knowledge. This bifurcation commodifies knowledge, divorcing it from its spiritual essence and triggering a sense of emptiness that culminates in burnout. This study seeks to deconstruct academic burnout by offering an epistemological therapy derived from the tarbawi (educational) hadiths of the Prophet, focusing on the motivational reframing of patience and the pursuit of God's pleasure in seeking knowledge. Employing a qualitative method with a literature review approach, the research conducts a thematic analysis of hadiths related to the virtues of knowledge, patience, and seeking divine approval. The results demonstrate that these hadiths provide a fundamental epistemological solution to academic burnout by challenging the knowledge dichotomy. They establish two core principles: firstly, patience functions as a cognitive-spiritual framework that enables a transformative reframing of academic pressures. Secondly, seeking God's pleasure forms the foundational epistemology for a serene and meaningful educational system.

Abstract

This study addresses the growing erosion of adab (ethical and moral conduct) in contemporary teacher–student relations by examining Al-Ghazali’s educational thought as a normative–philosophical framework. Employing a qualitative library research design with an analytical approach, the study draws primarily on Al-Ghazali’s Ihya’ Ulum al-Din, supported by relevant secondary literature from books and peer-reviewed journals. Data were analyzed using content analysis to reconstruct Al-Ghazali’s conceptualization of adab within educational relationships. The findings reveal that Al-Ghazali’s notion of adab is holistic and spiritually grounded, integrating ethical, pedagogical, and metaphysical dimensions. For students, adab entails reverence for the teacher, disciplined learning, and the practical embodiment of knowledge. For teachers, it is reflected in sincerity of intention, compassion, moral exemplarity, and pedagogical sensitivity to students’ intellectual capacities. This relationship is founded on a spiritual ethic in which the teacher functions as a murabbi, responsible for students’ moral and spiritual formation rather than the mere transmission of knowledge. The study argues that Al-Ghazali’s framework offers a substantive theoretical contribution to contemporary educational discourse by re-centering adab as a core principle for restoring the ethical and humanistic foundations of modern education.

Abstract

The development of digital technology encourages the implementation of Distance Learning (PJJ), but the practice still faces pedagogical and ethical challenges and is often understood as a purely modern phenomenon. In fact, the Islamic scientific tradition has recognized the transmission of knowledge through intermediary media, as reflected in the hadith about the scientific interaction between Marwān bin al-Ḥakam and Zayd bin Thābit. This research aims to analyze the relevance of the tarbawi hadith in building the conceptual framework of PJJ in the digital era. The research uses a literature study method with a qualitative-descriptive approach. Primary data is sourced from Al-Muwaṭṭa' by Imam Mālik and Islamic educational literature, while secondary data is obtained from contemporary digital learning studies. The analysis was carried out through content analysis to identify tarbawi values that are relevant to the characteristics of PJJ. The results of the study show that the hadith contains the principles of scientific trust, information verification, communication manners, message documentation, and flexibility of learning methods. These findings confirm that PJJ has historical roots in Islamic traditions and can be developed as an effective, ethical, and spiritually valuable digital learning model.
