Abstract

Leadership plays a central role in determining the direction and success of educational organizations. This article aims to examine the role and influence of various basic leadership styles in the context of educational organizations, as explained in the Organizational Theory Book. This study is conducted using a literature review method by analyzing various leadership theories and approaches, such as democratic, authoritarian, laissez-faire, situational, transactional, and charismatic styles. The results of the study indicate that each leadership style has its advantages and limitations depending on the situation, the characteristics of the individuals being led, and the organizational culture. Leaders who are able to adapt their leadership style contextually are more effective in building communication, improving performance, and creating a productive and harmonious work environment. The implications of this finding suggest that a deep understanding of leadership styles and their appropriate application is key to supporting the sustainable achievement of the vision and mission of educational institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of student management in handling students who experience transfer and dropout in public schools. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation involving school principals, guidance and counseling teachers, class teachers, students, and parents. The data were analyzed using interactive analysis techniques, which include data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of student management in public schools has covered the stages of planning, development, and evaluation, but it has not been fully optimal. The School Environment Introduction Program (MPLS) based on education, class grouping according to student potential, and counseling services play an effective role in reducing transfer and dropout rates. The main factors causing dropouts are still dominated by family economic conditions, low learning motivation, and minimal support from the social environment. In conclusion, effective, participatory, and character-based student management, supported by collaboration between schools, parents, and local governments, is key to reducing transfer and dropout rates and achieving quality and sustainable education in public schools.
