Abstract

A total of 66.7% of Primary Teacher Education (PTE) students demonstrated high-level thinking skills in the high category, while 33.3% were in the moderate category, with none in the low category. Analytical (C4) and creative (C6) skills were relatively strong, though evaluate (C5) varied. This study aimed to analyze students’ higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) in the topic of measurement using the revised bloom’s Taxonomy (C4-C6) as a framework. Six PTE students from STKIP Al Hikmah based essay items and semi-structured interviews. The data were analyzed qualitatively using triangulation techniques. The findings indicate thar, despite most students performing at a high level, inconsistencies in performance across cognitive dimensions suggest uneven mastery of HOTS. This highlights the need to strengthen instructional strategies that foster balanced development of analytical, critical, and creative thinking. The results also imply the importance of embedding HOTS-based assessment and instruction across all fundamental mathematics topics in teacher education curricula, to better prepare prospective teacher for real-world classroom challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to develop interactive learning media based on Canva integrated with Augmented Reality (AR) technology on mutual cooperation material for fourth grade students of SDN 14 Indralaya Utara. The development model used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE approach, which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. These stages are designed to ensure that the media produced is in accordance with student needs and the curriculum, and is effective in delivering character material. The validation process was carried out by media experts, material experts, and two education practitioners to assess the feasibility of the content, visual appearance, language, and suitability of the media to learning outcomes. The validation results showed a validity level of 93.1% which is included in the Very Valid category. Meanwhile, the practicality test through one-to-one and small group trials with fourth grade students obtained an average percentage of 97.4% (Very Practical category). These findings prove that the interactive learning media based on Canva and AR that were developed are not only feasible and valid, but also practical for use by students and teachers. This media is able to help students understand the value of mutual cooperation in a more contextual, visual, and interactive way, so that it can be an alternative innovation in character learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research shows that the problem-solving ability of fifth-grade students is still low; students have difficulty in understanding problems, planning, implementing the solution, and drawing conclusions on mathematical word problems. The purpose of this study was to determine how before and after the application of the Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) learning model on mathematical problem-solving abilities on flat shape material and how much influence the Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) learning model has on mathematical problem-solving abilities on flat shape material of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 91 Palembang compared to conventional media. The method used in this research is a quasi-experiment with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The research population was all fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 91 Palembang, The data collection techniques used were observation and tests (pretest and Posttest). Data analysis was performed using the normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing (t-test). The results of the t-test on the Posttest data show a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000. Since the significance value of 0.000 is smaller than 0.05, it can be concluded that there is a statistically significant difference between the average problem-solving abilitiesof the experimental group and the control group. This indicates that the Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) Learning Model has a significant influence on the improvement of the problem-solving ability of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 91 Palembang.
