Abstract

This article examines the role of literacy culture as a psychopedagogical strategy in fostering a growth mindset among students in Aceh. The study adopts a conceptual literature review with a descriptive-analytical approach. Findings indicate that literacy activities such as reflective reading and discussion enhance intrinsic motivation, perseverance, and a growth-oriented mindset. Community-based approaches, such as utilizing coffee shops as literacy spaces, effectively expand the learning ecosystem. This study contributes to the development of contextual and adaptive character education strategies grounded in literacy.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of QR Code media as an assessment tool in conducting the Mid-Semester Examination (PTS) for Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning in Banda Aceh Public Elementary School, as well as to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in its application. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. The population consisted of 55 students from Grades V-A and V-B, with a sample of 24 students. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews with teachers and students, and documentation analysis related to the implementation of QR Codes in the PTS process. The data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the use of QR Codes in PTS improves the efficiency of question distribution and assessment processes, reduces paper usage, and enhances student motivation. Supporting factors include teacher and student readiness to use technology and time efficiency during the examination. However, challenges such as limited devices, unstable internet connections, and students’ adaptation difficulties were also found. To overcome these challenges, schools are advised to provide backup devices, improve network infrastructure, and conduct training for teachers and students. With optimal support, QR Codes have the potential to be applied in other learning evaluations in elementary education.

Abstract

Civic Education in the 21st century requires innovative teaching materials that develop higher order thinking skills while integrating Pancasila values. The problem is the lack of hierarchically designed civic education materials based on LOTS, MOTS, and HOTS to enhance elementary students' critical thinking. This research aims to develop systematic procedures for preparing civic education materials oriented toward LOTS-MOTS-HOTS that integrate Pancasila values to improve elementary students' critical thinking abilities. The research method uses a qualitative approach with systematic literature review from Scopus, ERIC, Google Scholar, and Garuda databases for 2015-2025. Results show civic education materials need hierarchical design from LOTS for basic understanding, MOTS for concept application, to HOTS for analysis and evaluation. Pancasila values integration at each cognitive level effectively builds character while sharpening critical thinking. Development procedures include needs analysis, tiered objective formulation, contextual material preparation, and continuous evaluation. It is concluded that innovative civic education materials oriented toward LOTS-MOTS-HOTS integrated with Pancasila values are effective strategies for improving students' critical thinking. Teachers are recommended to apply this systematic procedure in designing contextual and meaningful civic education materials.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji teknik pengembangan instrumen penilaian berbasis Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) yang mengacu pada Taksonomi Anderson & Krathwohl melalui studi kepustakaan terhadap publikasi ilmiah tahun 2015–2025. Metode yang digunakan adalah library research dengan menelaah artikel jurnal, buku ilmiah, prosiding, dan laporan penelitian yang relevan menggunakan prosedur seleksi literatur sistematis. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan instrumen HOTS umumnya mengikuti model ADDIE dan Borg & Gall, serta menempatkan konstruksi indikator berbasis level kognitif C4–C6 sebagai fondasi utama. Validasi instrumen dilakukan melalui penilaian ahli dan uji empiris, meskipun kedalaman integrasi antara proses kognitif dan dimensi pengetahuan belum konsisten dalam seluruh penelitian. Selain itu, pendekatan psikometrik modern seperti model Rasch masih jarang digunakan, sehingga menghasilkan variasi kualitas reliabilitas dan validitas instrumen. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pengembangan instrumen berbasis HOTS terus berkembang namun membutuhkan penguatan integrasi teori taksonomi serta penerapan analisis psikometrik yang lebih komprehensif. Temuan ini memberikan arahan bagi penelitian selanjutnya untuk memperluas penggunaan pendekatan autentik dan teknologi digital dalam asesmen HOTS.
