Abstract

Penciptaan karya tugas yang berjudul “Emosional Mental Health Dalam Fotografi Still Life” ini bertujuan sebagai media untuk merefleksikan kondisi emosional dan kesehatan mental (emosional mental health). Pengkarya memvisualisasikan sepuluh emosi positif dan sepuluh emosi negatif ke dalam bentuk fotografi still life melalui objek benda mati seperti vas bunga, gelas, piring, jam, dan elemen simbolik lainnya. Dalam proses penciptaannya, teori semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce digunakan untuk menerjemahkan tanda-tanda visual ke dalam makna emosional, serta teori psikologi warna dan pencahayaan fotografi digunakan untuk memperkuat pesan visual. Penciptaan karya dilakukan melalui tahap persiapan, perancangan, perwujudan, penyajian, dan pameran. Hasilnya adalah 20 karya foto yang dipamerkan sebagai bentuk ekspresi personal dan media edukatif untuk meningkatkan kesadaran terhadap pentingnya kesehatan mental melalui seni visual. Karya ini juga diharapkan dapat menjadi inspirasi dalam penggunaan seni sebagai sarana terapi emosional. Dalam Fotografi Still Life berjumlah sebanyak 20 karya foto dan dicetak di atas media photo paper laminating doff.

Abstract

Community service activities with the theme "Photography Training and Writing Skills for Photo Meanings/Messages with Communicative Language for Students of Excellent Nurul Ikhlas High School" aims to improve the ability of students of Excellent Nurul Ikhlas High School, Tanah Datar in capturing moments that have human interest value through photography and composing the right words to be able to provide deep meaning/messages to the photos that have been created. This community service activity also aims to motivate students to further explore their creativity, especially in improving visual experience and improving the ability to narrate well-recorded memories. The methods used in this community service include two stages, namely the training stage (lecture) and direct practice of photographing and creating meaning/messages from the photos. From the results of the training, it can be seen that this community service activity is able to increase insight, improve technical abilities, and skills, as well as students' creativity in improving hard skills and soft skill in the field of photography and writing meaning/messages from photos that have been taken using communicative language.

Abstract

Artikel ilmiah ini berjudul Retrieval Tiga Benua dalam Penciptaan Karya Fotografi Seni, yang berangkat dari pengalaman personal pengkarya yang tumbuh dan berpindah dalam tiga keluarga berbeda, dianalogikan sebagai tiga benua: Asia, Afrika, dan Amerika. Setiap benua merepresentasikan fase kehidupan, pola pengasuhan, serta ingatan emosional yang membentuk identitas pengkarya. Alur cerita karya disusun sebagai perjalanan ingatan yang menghadirkan pengalaman kehilangan, pencarian jati diri, harapan, hingga penerimaan terhadap takdir hidup. Pendekatan semiotika Roland Barthes digunakan untuk membaca dan membangun makna visual melalui tanda-tanda denotatif dan konotatif, baik pada objek utama maupun elemen pendukung seperti benang, cat, warna, dan material non-fotografis lainnya. Tujuan penciptaan ini adalah menerjemahkan fragmen ingatan personal ke dalam bahasa visual fotografi seni yang reflektif serta membuka ruang dialog emosional antara karya dan audiens. Metode penciptaan meliputi studi literatur, wawancara, elaborasi ide, sintesis konsep, perancangan visual, eksplorasi media, hingga perwujudan karya dengan teknik fotografi seni, reprofoto, digital imaging, dan mixed media. Hasil penciptaan berupa karya fotografi seni yang merepresentasikan perjalanan hidup pengkarya secara simbolik, personal, dan komunikatif, serta berfungsi sebagai medium ekspresi artistik dan refleksi psikologis atas makna ingatan, identitas, dan keluarga

Abstract

This creative final project was driven by the desire to translate the emotional depth and profound message of Gala Bunga Matahari, a song by Sal Priadi, into visual form through expressive photography. The song was chosen for its poetic lyricism, rich in symbolism, personal emotion, and inner narratives of loss, longing, and hope. The main objective of the project is to represent the emotional journey conveyed in the song through visual works that are both evocative and reflective. The creation process employed a qualitative approach using the phenomenological method, emphasizing the artist's subjective experience in responding to the song’s meaning. Charles S. Peirce’s semiotic theory served as the analytical foundation, focusing on three core elements: representamen, object, and interpretant, with the sunflower serving as the central symbol. Visual elements such as light, shadow, color, and composition were carefully selected to express emotions that are difficult to articulate verbally. Expressive photography was chosen as the medium due to its ability to convey emotion visually without relying on textual narration. The final work consists of 20 photographs printed on matte-laminated photo paper, functioning not only as a visual interpretation of the song but also as a medium for personal reflection and emotional healing for the creator. This project aspires to open new avenues for appreciating the intersection of music and photography as complementary forms of emotional communication.
