Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the various psychological challenges faced by novice athletes in dealing with competitive pressure. The method used was a qualitative approach with a phenomenological study design, involving 24 novice athletes aged 16 to 20 years from various sports. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). The results showed that novice athletes experience complex competitive pressures, including somatic anxiety, cognitive anxiety, social pressure, and fear of failure. The main factors causing this pressure are a lack of competitive experience, unrealistic expectations from the environment, and a lack of psychological support within the coaching system. The impact of this pressure not only affects physical performance but also the psychological well-being of athletes. This study suggests the importance of integrating sports psychology programs into youth athlete coaching curricula and the need for more systematic psychological support for novice athletes

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the ability of PGSD students at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Mataram, in developing instructional media as preparation for the School Field Introduction Program (PLP). Previous evaluations indicate that students still rely on conventional media such as chalkboards and printed images, which lack innovation and are not designed based on instructional principles. In fact, instructional media play an essential role in helping elementary students understand abstract concepts, increasing learning motivation, and creating engaging and meaningful learning experiences. Through the workshop, students gained knowledge about media concepts and types, characteristics of elementary learners, and criteria for selecting appropriate instructional media. The activity continued with guided practice in conducting needs analysis, designing, and presenting their media products. The results show improved student competence in producing creative, functional, and pedagogically relevant media, making them better prepared for PLP implementation in elementary schools.

Abstract

Extracurricular activities are a strategic instrument for holistically developing student potential, but their implementation in elementary schools is often not optimal. The purpose of this community service activity is to develop and strengthen extracurricular services based on student interests and talents at Mataram 24 Elementary School. This community service activity is carried out in three main stages, namely: (1) planning through observation, interest mapping, and Focus Group Discussion (FGD); (2) implementation of extracurricular programs; and (3) evaluation of activity results. There are three types of extracurricular activities facilitated by referring to the planning results, namely Tahfidz, Paskibra, and English Club. Community service activities show an increase in student participation and involvement. The Tahfidz extracurricular activity shows a significant contribution to Al-Quran literacy, Paskibra strengthens discipline and cooperation, while English Club can improve self-confidence and basic English communication skills. In addition to its direct impact on students, this activity also helps schools in systematically designing and managing extracurricular activities. The results of this activity also strengthen collaboration between universities and schools to revitalize the function of extracurricular activities as a vital tool for developing the character and potential of elementary school students. This program also has the potential to become a model for good practice in strengthening self-development services in elementary schools.
