Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media flashcard terhadap penguasaan kosakata bahasa Inggris siswa kelas IV SD. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan pre-eksperimental tipe one group pretest-posttest. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa SDN Lemahabang II Kabupaten Karawang yang berjumlah 276 orang siswa. Dengan sampel yang di ambil kelas IV SD sebanyak 35 siswa, menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes pilihan ganda yang terdiri dari 20 butir soal, dengan 15 butir soal yang telah dinyatakan valid setelah melalui uji validitas, reliabilitas, daya pembeda, dan tingkat kesukaran. Hasil uji reliabilitas menunjukkan bahwa instrumen memiliki koefisien reliabilitas (r hitung) sebesar 0,638, yang termasuk dalam kategori reliabel. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis dengan Paired Sample t-Test menggunakan bantuan SPSS versi 28. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan rata-rata skor dari 41,29 pada pretest menjadi 80,54 pada posttest. Nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,001 < 0,05 menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara penggunaan media flashcard terhadap penguasaan kosakata bahasa Inggris siswa kelas IV SD.

Abstract

The learning assessment process is an important component in an effort to obtain information on the learning outcomes that have been implemented. Assessment can also be used to determine the level of achievement of the material and the level of ability of students. The use of technology makes this process more interesting, fun and effective. The Quizizz application is a learning assessment media application that is expected to attract interest and increase students' concentration in learning assessment. This research aims to determine the effect of the quizizz application as a learning assessment tool in elementary schools. The subjects in this research were all fifth grade elementary school students. This type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data collection uses interviews and observation. The results of this study show that using the Quizizz application as an assessment tool can foster competitiveness in learning because scores can be seen immediately so they can motivate students, questions can be done anywhere and teachers can monitor the progress of students' question paper work, questions also have an attractive appearance. These three aspects are the advantages of the quizizz application. Apart from these three aspects, this application makes it easier to work on questions, easy to use, develops creativity in learning, and makes it easier to collect test results. Based on the results of this research, the quiziz application can be used by teachers as a form of innovation in learning assessment, so that students will be more enthusiastic about learning and can improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Writing skills are an essential core competence for primary school pupils; however, in practice, many pupils still struggle to express their ideas in a coherent and systematic manner. This study aims to analyse the effect of implementing the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model on improving the writing skills of Year 5 primary school pupils. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design of the pre-test–post-test control group type. The research subjects were 50 Year 5 pupils at SDN Lenggahjaya 02, Cabangbungin Sub-district, Bekasi Regency, divided into an experimental class (25 pupils) and a control class (25 pupils). The instrument used was a writing skills test covering five aspects: content/ideas, text organisation, vocabulary use, grammar, and spelling and punctuation. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, an independent samples t-test, and Normalised Gain (N-Gain) calculations. The results showed that the average post-test score for the experimental class was 82.36, significantly higher than that of the control class at 66.44. The N-Gain score for the experimental class reached 0.63 (moderate category), whilst the control class scored only 0.30 (low category). The t-test yielded a significance level (Sig.) of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant effect. These findings suggest that the PjBL model effectively enhances primary school pupils’ writing skills through a real-world project-based approach that is.
