This study aims to examine the extent to which the methods and applications of the theory of multiple intelligence are in harmony with the perspective of Islamic education. The foundation of this study refers to the concept of compound intelligence developed by Howard Gardner. The main focus of this research is the strategy and application of the theory of multiple intelligence in the learning process of Islamic Religious Education in the pesantren environment. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and data analysis based on the Miles and Huberman model. The results of this study are expected to provide a more comprehensive insight into how the theory of multiple intelligences can be applied in Islamic religious learning. In addition, this research also aims to dig deeper into how this concept can optimize the cognitive and emotional potential of every student in the Islamic education system.

Abstract

The digital divide resulting from low literacy amidst rapid technological advances has created significant obstacles in optimizing the educational process, particularly in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and Character Building. This qualitative research aims to evaluate the utilization of digital literacy based on indicators of skills, culture, ethics, and digital security in four public high schools in East Kalimantan. The research was systematically conducted through field observations, documentation studies, and in-depth interviews with religious education teachers in Bontang, Balikpapan, Tanah Grogot, and Tenggarong, which were then analyzed using data reduction and verification techniques. The research findings revealed that the integration of platforms such as Google Classroom and YouTube has successfully enriched the learning experience and facilitated creative digital da'wah among students. Educators actively instill Islamic ethics in online interactions to counter hoaxes and cyberbullying. Statistics show that Indonesians spend 7 hours and 59 minutes per day using the internet, reinforcing the urgency of strengthening digital skills for the younger generation. The main conclusion confirms that digital literacy plays a crucial role in transforming PAI learning to be more relevant and in shaping strong student character. However, implementation in the field is still hampered by limited internet infrastructure and minimal technology training for teachers, so strategic collaboration between the government and schools is needed to create an adaptive education ecosystem.
