Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of technology-based human resource management (HRM) as a strategy to improve the competence of public high school teachers in Jambi City using a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with principals, teachers, and HR management staff. The results show that the integration of technology, such as the use of Management Information Systems (MIS) and Learning Management Systems (LMS), has facilitated data management, online training, and digital collaboration among teachers, thereby supporting administrative efficiency, objective recruitment, and flexible competency development. However, main challenges faced include limited technological infrastructure, low digital literacy among some teachers, and lack of basic technological training for senior teachers. Institutional support, availability of facilities, and participative policies are key success factors, while disparities in technology access remain significant obstacles. The study recommends optimizing digital infrastructure, continuous training, and strengthening policies on technology-based HR development to ensure sustainable and relevant improvements in teacher competence aligned with educational needs in the digital era.

Abstract

The rapid growth of digital transactions through marketplace platforms has driven significant changes in the consumption patterns of Indonesian society. Behind the convenience and efficiency offered, online transactions also pose various legal risks for consumers, including product mismatches, fraudulent practices, and weak personal data protection. This situation creates an urgency to assess the effectiveness of the implementation of consumer legal protection in digital transactions. This study aims to analyze the level of effectiveness of consumer legal protection in digital transactions in Indonesian marketplaces and to identify obstacles in its implementation. The method used is normative legal research with an approach based on legislation and literature studies, particularly on the Consumer Protection Law, the Electronic Information and Transactions Law, and Government Regulation Number 80 of 2019. The research results indicate that although a legal framework for consumer protection is normatively available, its implementation has not been optimal. This is influenced by low consumer legal literacy, weak supervision and law enforcement, unclear responsibilities between business actors and marketplace platforms, and the suboptimal personal data protection system. Therefore, there is a need to strengthen regulations that are adaptive to digital transactions, enhance the role of marketplace platforms, and develop effective online dispute resolution mechanisms to ensure protection and legal certainty for consumers.

Abstract

The village of Kuap in Pemayung Sub-district, Batanghari Regency, possesses a wide range of local potential, including the oil palm plantation sector, fisheries, areca nut production, and home-based micro-enterprises. However, this potential has not yet been fully utilised due to the community’s limited understanding of the basic concepts of export, product quality standards, and marketing opportunities in wider markets. This community service activity aims to enhance the awareness of the people of Kuap Village regarding the importance of human resource development and the strengthening of local potential as a first step towards accessing global markets. The activity was carried out using a qualitative descriptive observational approach, taking the form of an awareness-raising session featuring a guest speaker from Blantica Academy. The session utilised lectures, interactive discussions and a question-and-answer session, and was attended by around 20 participants comprising housewives, men, young people and local MSME operators. Observations revealed a high level of participation and enthusiasm among participants, reflected in the depth of the questions asked during the discussion sessions and the emergence of initial motivation to develop their businesses. The activity faced a number of challenges, including time constraints, varying levels of understanding among participants, and the lack of follow-up mentoring programmes; consequently, the sustainability of the programme’s impact still requires reinforcement through ongoing mentoring. It is hoped that this initiative will serve as a concrete first step towards strengthening the capacity of human resources and the competitiveness of Kuap Village’s local products in the global market.
