Abstract

Anemia is one of the most common nutritional deficiency disorders in the community. Adolescent girls are population group that is vulnerable to iron deficiency anemia since they are at puberty which causes high iron loses due to menstruation. In addition, it is exacerbated by lack consumption behavior of foods that contain less iron. One of the anemia prevention can be conducted with behavioral change interventions through peer education. This study aims to determine the effect of peer education on anemia prevention behavior. This was a quasi-experiment with a nonequivalent pretest-posttest with control group. This research was conducted from March-September 2019 in 26 adolescent girls.The sampling technique applied purposive sampling method. Analysis of research data applied an independent sample t test.The results showed that there were significant differences in the two treatment groups with average value of knowledge (p = 0.013), attitude (p = 0.011) and skills (p = 0.032) of adolescent girls in the prevention of anemia as compared to the control group. Peer education is an effective strategy to improve anemia prevention behavior in adolescent’s girls. It is expected that the education program through peers will be further improved and considered as an agenda in student organization activities

Abstract

ABSTRACT High uric acid, known as Gout, is a disease caused by purine metabolism disorders (hyperuricemia) which will cause crystal buildup in joints and blood vessels. The buildup of crystals will cause pain, swelling, inflammation and stiffness in the joint area.One of the non-pharmacological therapies that can be done is consuming bay leaf decoction. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of giving bay leaves stew water to reduce uric acid levels in Gout sufferers in the Rejosari Public Health Center Working Area, Pekanbaru City. This wasquasy experiment reasearch with pre and post test with control group design. The sampling method was purposive sampling. The number of obtained participants were 24 respondents. Independent T Test was performed to analyse reasearch data. The result after seven days intervention showed that the difference of uric acid levels in contol and intervention groups was 2.43 gr/dl with p value is 0.000. It can be concluded that there is an effect of giving decoction water of bay leaves on reducing uric acid levels among Gout patients in Rejosari Public Health Center Working Area, Tenayan Raya Sub-District, Pekanbaru City. It is expected that gout patients can consume decoction water bay leaves as alternative treatment for gout.

Abstract

The treatment for patient with diabetes mellitus can be applied by non pharmalogical therapies. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of red betel lleaf decoction on changes in blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus in rw 26 of rejosari sub-district of tenayan raya pekanbaru cirty. This type of research is quasy experimental. The study sample was all diabetes mellitus patients in Rw- 26, rejosari village, tenayan raya district, pekanbaru city, 15 people, the results showed that the p value of blood level was 0.001 (p< 0.005). this shows that there is a significant influence on the consumption of red betel leaf stew on blood levels. It is expected for Rw- 26 kelurahan Rejo sari to use betel leaf as a non- pharmacological therapy in the treatment of diabetes.

Abstract

Adolescent girls are vulnerable groups who have a high risk of iron deficiency anemia due to increasednutrient needs at puberty. Adolescent knowledge will influence adolescent behavior in filling iron-rich foodsand in the end have effect on adolescent hemoglobin levels. The purpose of this study was to determine therelationship of knowledge about anemia with hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls at Senior High School of 05Pekanbaru. This type of research was correlational with cross sectional approach. The study was conductedfrom March-September 2019 to 52 adolescent girls. The sampling technique used purposive sampling method.The instrument of data collection used a questionnaire to determine the knowledge of adolescent girls aboutanemia and Hb test to determine hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls Data analysis used Pearson correlationtest. The results showed that the average age of adolescent girls was at the age of 16 years with an averagehemoglobin level of 13.8g / dl. There was a relationship between adolescent girls' knowledge with hemoglobinlevels in adolescent girls at Senior High Scholl of 05 Pekanbaru (p = 0.041, p <0.05). Based on these results, itis expected to increase adolescent knowledge to be better through sustainable health education programs thatare more easily accepted by youth groups

Abstract

The toddler stage is considered a golden period as well as a critical period in human life. The nutritional issues in Indonesia, with a stunting prevalence of 19.8% in 2024, indicate that the development of eating habits greatly influences the growth and development of toddlers in the future. This study aims to examine the relationship between knowledge of feeding rules, children's eating behavior, and maternal characteristics with the nutritional status of toddlers in the working area of Rejosari Public Health Center, Pekanbaru City. This is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. The study population consisted of mothers with toddlers, with a total of 62 respondents selected through purposive sampling. The study was conducted from December 2023 to May 2025. The research instruments included questionnaires, and tools used were a weighing scale and stature meter. Data analysis was performed using the chi-square test with computer assistance. The results showed a significant relationship between children's eating behavior (p-value = 0.022) and the nutritional status of toddlers. However, there was no relationship between maternal education level (p-value = 0.382), income level (p-value = 0.594), and knowledge about feeding rules (p-value = 0.529) with the nutritional status of toddlers in the Rejosari Public Health Center working area. The role of healthcare professionals in providing continuous education in collaboration with nutritionists needs to be strengthened to help improve the nutritional status of toddlers.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Hormon oksitosin berdampak pada pengeluaran hormon prolaktin sebagai stimulasi produksi ASI pada ibu menyusui. Salah satu upaya yang bisa dilakukan untuk meransang hormon oksitosin pada ibu adalah memberikan sensasi rileks yaitu dengan melakukan pijatan oksitosin yang akan meransang sel saraf pada payudara. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh pijat oksitosin terhadap produksi ASI pada ibu postpartum di PMB Rosita S.Tr.Keb Kota Pekanbaru. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian Quasi Experiment. Penelitian dilaksanakan di PMB Rosita S.Tr.Keb Kota Pekanbaru pada bulan Februari-Juli 2025. Populasi pada penelitain ini adalah seluruh ibu postpartum di PMB Rosita S.Tr.Kebpada bulan Februari-Maret 2025 dengan jumlah sampel 18 orang ibu. Analisis data dilakukan dengan komputerisasi secara univariat dan bivariat. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu sebelum diberikan pijat oksitosin, sebagian besar responden memiliki prosuksi ASI kurang baik sebanyak 16 responden (88,9%). Sesudah diberikan pijat oksitosin, sebagian besar responden memiliki produksi ASI baik sebanyak 17 responden (94,4%). Ada pengaruh pijat oksitosin terhadap produksi ASI pada ibu postpartum di PMB Rosita S.Tr.Keb Kota Pekanbaru (p=0,001). Saran bagi tenaga kesehatan agar dapat memberikan tambahan pendidikan kesehatan tentang pengaruh pijat oksitosin terhadap produksi ASI pada ibu menyusui.
