Abstract

This study investigates the potential of integrating Islamic ethical values into heuristic problem-based learning to foster Advanced Mathematical Thinking (AMT) skills among Islamic elementary students. Using an explanatory sequential mixed-methods design, the research involved 120 fifth-grade students from Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in a metropolitan city in Indonesia. The intervention employed the Heuristic Problem-Based Learning integrated with the Triplet Structure Model (HPbLTSM), emphasizing deep learning through inquiry, abstraction, representation, creativity, and proof. Results show that students with strong mathematical dispositions significantly improved their AMT skills, while even those with weaker dispositions benefited when ethical and collaborative frameworks were embedded. The study demonstrates that AMT is not exclusive to mathematically gifted students and that integrating Islamic values (such as ta’adub, musāwah, and taṭawwur wa ibtikār) enhances cognitive, ethical, and social growth. The findings align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions).

Abstract

This research aims to examine the trends, innovations, and challenges in acquiring Indonesian language skills in elementary education. The main findings of this research emphasize critical areas such as new innovations in Indonesian language learning based on Deep Learning with the Total Physical Response integrated Content-Languagebased Learning through the Whole Language Method approach (TPR-CLIL-WLM). This research underscores the importance of collaboration between theory, principles of character values, and technology in enhancing the acquisition of Indonesian language skills. This research significantly contributes to building a foundation for future research and education, especially in the integration of locally-based innovations with deep learning methodologies in the global context of the Indonesian language. Deep Learning prioritizes student engagement through thinking, feeling, acting, and reflecting, resulting in active student participation with enjoyable and meaningful awareness. Whole language integrates students' social-functional-linguistic experiences with contextual elements in PPBI. Total Physical Response and Content-Language based Learning uphold the development of students' sociocultural constructivist perspectives. The integration of Teaching and Learning Indonesian Language (TLIL) based on Deep Learning through the TPR-CLIL-WLM approach focuses on the learning process rather than the learning outcomes, which tend to filter students with certain competencies, thus greatly valuing each student's abilities, needs, and processes. Thus, this integration is highly recommended. In addition, this integration also stimulates students to enhance the 6Cs skills as 21st-century essential skills.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini memiliki tujuan pendampingan kepada guru-guru untuk dapat menerapkan model pembelajaran berbasis kearifan lokal dengan menggunakan media buku cerita budaya Betawi sebagai implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka. SDN Jatinegara Kaum 01 dan 03 terletak di wilayah Jakarta Timur yang merupakan tempat asal suku Betawi. Siswa dan guru di kedua sekolah tersebut ada sebagian berasal dari suku Betawi. Dengan demikian, sesuai dengan Kurikulum Merdeka bahwa setiap sekolah harus sudah mampu melakukan pembelajaran berbasis kearifan lokal. Hal ini bertujuan agar budaya Nusantara yang ada di Indonesia dapat dipelajari oleh siswa dan terjaga kelestariannya. Sekolah mitra sangat membutuhkan adanya pelatihan yang signifikan dengan perkembangan Kurikulum Merdeka, sehingga sekolah menerapkan Kurikulum Merdeka dengan sepenuhnya. Metode yang dilakukan dalam kegiatan ini antara lain: sosialisasi berupa pendampingan atau pelatihan dalam bentuk workshop, baik secara teori maupun praktik dalam penerapan  pembelajaran berbasis kearifan lokal dengan menggunakan media buku cerita budaya Betawi. Sosialisasi untuk mendorong peserta memahami model pembelajaran berbasis kearifan lokal dari aspek teoritis, workshop untuk pengembangan modul ajar berbasis kearifan lokal, serta praktik pembelajaran berbasis kearifan lokal dengan menggunakan media buku cerita budaya Betawi. Desain model pembelajaran berbasis kearifan lokal dengan menggunakan media buku cerita budaya Betawi diharapkan dapat dilaksanakan pada pembelajaran dikelas.
