Abstract

Drinking water is something that is consumed by the general public every day. One of the contents contained in drinking water is fluoride which can have a negative impact on humans if the level exceeds 1 mg/L. The objective of this study is twofold: firstly, to identify and calculate the concentration of fluoride in bottled drinking water samples, and secondly, to determine the suitability of consuming the samples. An analysis of fluoride levels was conducted on five drinking water samples. This analysis was performed using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 570 nm. The reagent used was sodium 1-parasulfophenylazo 20-1,8-dihydroxy-3-6-naphthalene (SPADNS). The test is based on the reaction of fluoride and zirconium, which results in the absorption of colour by the former and the formation of a colourless complex anion by the latter. The observation is made indirectly by observing the reduction of the absorption of the SPADNS-zirconyl acid reagent complex, rather than the absorption of the reagent to which fluoride ions have been added. The measurement results indicate that the five samples exhibit fluoride levels below 1 mg/L, with a range of 0.054 - 0.560 mg/L. In accordance with the standards outlined in SNI 3553:2015 concerning Mineral Water, the analysed drinking water samples are deemed to be in compliance with stipulated parameters. This is due to the fact that the concentration of total dissolved solids in the water samples does not exceed 1.0 milligrams per litre (mg/L).

Abstract

The need for valid and contextually relevant supervision instruments remains a key challenge in realizing 21st-century education that integrates the 4Cs skills (critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication) with the Profil Pelajar Pancasila. This study aimed to develop and evaluate the feasibility of the Integrated E-MESp 4Cs Mobile as a digital instrument for academic supervision. Using a research and development (R&D) approach with qualitative data collection, this study conducted Focus Group Discussions, in-depth interviews, and document analyses involving teachers, principals, supervisors, and education experts. The data was analyzed through interactive qualitative procedures, including data reduction, presentation, and verification. The results show that the E-MESp 4Cs Mobile instrument is feasible and relevant to be used as an integrated supervision tool that combines 4Cs indicators with the dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile. Stakeholders also emphasized the need for standardization aligned with national guidelines and the potential use of artificial intelligence to support data-based supervision and policy recommendations. Overall, the E-MESp 4Cs Mobile instrument demonstrates strong potential to enhance teacher supervision practices, support deep learning, and strengthen the development of humanistic, inclusive, and character-oriented graduates.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of a digital supervision system based on 21st-century skills using the E-MESp 4Cs Mobile platform as an integrated evaluation–supervision model in primary and secondary schools. The research employed an applied research design within a Research, Development, and Diffusion (RD&D) framework, with a specific focus on the implementation evaluation stage. The study involved teachers, principals, and supervisors from Muhammadiyah schools across four regions, comprising an initial pilot phase in Semarang City and an expanded implementation phase in Semarang Regency, Kendal Regency, and Salatiga City. Supervision was conducted through the integration of three core components: lesson planning, instructional implementation, and student learning products, aligned with the competencies of critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication. The findings indicate a recurring gap between documented instructional planning and classroom practices, while instructional implementation and student learning products based on implementation evaluation data generally demonstrated stronger performance across regions. These results suggest that effective instructional practices are not always adequately represented in formal planning documents. The study concludes that digital, data-based supervision can provide a more comprehensive and reflective representation of instructional quality compared to conventional administrative supervision. Within the scope of this implementation-focused study, the E-MESp 4Cs Mobile platform shows potential to support professional development and evidence-based supervisory practices in 21st-century education.
