Abstract

Character education is an important issue in an effort to rebuild the character of the Indonesian nation that is experiencing moral degradation. This paper aims to examine the active role of the community in the implementation of character education as the foundation of nation development. The method used is a literature study by reviewing various reference sources related to character education. The results showed that the community has an important role in the implementation of character education, not only through the role of government and schools. The community can play an active role through habituation in daily life, community activities, and non-formal education. It is expected that with the active role of the community, a strong national character can be formed as the foundation of Indonesia's development.

Abstract

Science literacy is the ability to understand the scientific process and obtain important information that can be used in everyday life. Science literacy is an important and necessary skill in today's global era. This study aims to produce decent and practical of student worksheets (LKPD) based on science literacy products, as well as to know the teacher's acceptability to the LKPD developed. This research applies a type of research and development (R&D) using 3D models through define, design, and develop phases. This research was conducted at the SMAN 1 Kutapajang. The research instruments used are validity test questionnaires and practicality test questionnaires. The object of the study is a student worksheets (LKPD) based on science literacy on learning colloid concepts. The resulting LKPD has been tested valid with a percentage of 86.12% (very valid) and tested practically with a percentage of 91.66% (very practical). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that student worksheets (LKPD) based on science literacy can be used as supporting teaching material for learning colloidal concepts at SMAN 1 Kutapanjang.
