Abstract

This research was motivated by students who found it difficult to connect theory with real-life applications in solving problems. This results in a lack of motivation and interest in solving problems and reduces their ability to apply the concepts they have learned. This problem occurs because the learning strategy used by the teacher is not centered on students by directly involving them in proving a theory being studied and connecting it contextually in everyday life. So to solve this problem, it is necessary to use the right strategy through problem-based learning, which invites students to find problems that are close to their lives. This research aims to improve problem-solving skills through an experiment-based PBL model. This research uses classroom action research using a pre-cycle and two research cycles. In the precycle, the results of diagnostic tests showed that students' problem solving was 33% complete. It shows that it has not met the completeness category of 50% of the number of students. So cycle 1 was carried out using an experimental-based PBL model, which showed problem-solving completeness results of 39%. In cycle 1, there has been an increase, but it is not significant and does not meet the specified category of completeness. So it is necessary to implement cycle 2 with improvements to the treatment and modification of the worksheets used. In cycle 2, the problem-solving completeness category was achieved, namely 82% of the total number of students. From these results, it can be shown that the experimentalbased PBL model can improve students' problem-solving skills.

Abstract

In an effort to realize learning success, teachers must choose models and methods that suit the material and students' abilities. One of the students' abilities that can create active learning is the ability to think critically. This classroom action research aims to improve the critical thinking skills of class IV students at SDN Pagesangan by implementing the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model assisted by the Pancasila Adventure game. The data obtained is based on the results of observations and tests. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive techniques. The research subjects were 29 grade IV students at SDN Pagesangan, including 17 female students and 12 male students. The results of research in cycle I showed that students' critical thinking abilities were in the high category 6.90%, in the medium category 31.04%, in the low category 51.72% and in the very low category 10.34%. In cycle II, it showed that critical thinking skills increased with a very high category of 17.24%, a high category of 68.97%, a medium category of 10.34%, and a low category of 3.45%. Thus, it can be concluded that by implementing the PBL (Problem Based Learning) learning model with the help of the Pancasila Adventure game, it can improve students' critical thinking skills in class IV Pancasila Education learning at SDN Pagesangan.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the communication skills of class IV students in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subjects using the educational game "Lifecycle Challenge". The Classroom Action Research (PTK) method was carried out in two cycles, with the participation of 28 students. Data was collected using observation sheets. The research results showed a significant increase from the pre-cycle with students' initial completeness of only 39.29% increasing to 78.57% completeness in cycle 1, and 89.29% in cycle 2. This increase confirms the effectiveness of the "Lifecycle Challenge" in developing students' communication skills. Research recommends educational games as an alternative strategy in science learning and recommends further exploration in a broader context.

Abstract

The research was conducted at SDN Pagesangan 426, where when observing class VI, many students were less active and critical during the learning process. In order to improve students' critical thinking skills, the researcher applied the Team Games Tournament learning model in the form of Hunter Map on the Human Movement Organ System material. The research subjects were 31 students in the 2024/2025 academic year. This type of research is classroom action research carried out in 2 cycles. Data collection techniques in this study were observation and tests. The results of students' critical thinking skills classically were obtained in the pre-cycle, namely 41.9%, cycle I 61.3% and cycle II 80.6%. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the TGT model can improve the critical thinking skills of class VI students of SDN Pagesangan, especially on the material of the human movement organ system.
