Abstract

Problem-solving skills are important skills in physics learning. However, learning practices in schools are still dominated by conventional methods that are less able to accommodate differences in learning styles and student readiness levels. Therefore, the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with a differentiated approach is seen as effective in improving students' critical, creative, and analytical thinking skills, especially in sound wave materials. This study uses a quantitative method with a quasi-experiment design. The subject of the study was grade XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Kabila which consisted of one experimental class and two replication classes. The research instrument is in the form of pretest and posttest essay questions to measure problem-solving skills. Data analysis was carried out through Liliefors normality test, Alpha Cronbach reliability, paired sample t-test, and N-Gain calculation. The results of the study showed a significant increase in the average pretest and posttest scores in all classes. The normality test states that the data is normally distributed, while the reliability test confirms that the instrument is classified as reliable. The hypothesis test proved that H? was rejected, with an average N-Gain of more than 0.7 which meant a very high increase. Thus, the application of the differentiated PBL model has been proven to have a positive effect on problem-solving skills and encourage students to be more active, involved, motivated, and able to solve contextual problems according to learning styles.

Abstract

In an ideal school, laboratories are an integral part. However, not all schools in Indonesia have adequate laboratories, or even laboratory space. One alternative is to utilize virtual laboratories. Utilization of virtual laboratories is a viable and efficacious approach for practicum implementation, offering a potential solution to the constraints associated with laboratory equipment. However, the majority of virtual laboratories are not compatible with android devices due to the size of the data required to download the necessary applications. Furthermore, there is a paucity of android-based virtual laboratories, and even those that exist often require internet data during operation. In light of the aforementioned considerations, the objective of this research is to develop an android-based virtual laboratory learning media. This research employs the ADDIE development method to create an android-based virtual laboratory that utilizes minimal internet data, with the majority of data being used only during the installation process. Once the application is installed, the virtual laboratory can be utilized without requiring an internet connection. The findings indicated that the virtual laboratory met the standards of validity as determined by expert evaluation. Moreover, preliminary trials conducted with 24 students at SMP Negeri 2 Gorontalo revealed that 83% of students provided highly positive feedback, while 17% offered positive responses. Additionally, the findings indicated that students exhibited commendable autonomy in their learning process when utilizing an android-based virtual laboratory

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan sosialisasi, edukasi, dan pelatihan kepada masyarakat mengenai olahan komoditas jagung menjadi keripik dengan varian berbeda yaitu sagela (Ikan Roa) yang dapat memberikan ide dan peluang bisnis kepada Masyarakat Desa Bihe Kecamatan Asparaga Kabupaten Gorontalo. Jagung yang merupakan komoditas utama di Provinsi Gorontalo sangat melimpah di Desa ini dan juga merupakan mayoritas pekerjaan utama sebagai petani jagung, sehingga ide ini dapat memberikanmanfaat kepada Masyarakat. Keripik jagung varian sagela (Ikan Roa) ini sangat mudah untuk diolah pada masyarakat dengan menggunakan bahan sederhana dan juga kemasannya. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan melalui diskusi bersama masyarakat bahwa masyarakat memiliki antusiasme yang tinggi untuk menerapkan pembuatan keripik ini kedepannya.
