Abstract

This study aims to explore and analyze the concept of children’s education as presented by two scholars: Nashir bin Sulaiman al-Umar and Ibnu Qayyim al-Jauziyyah. It also seeks to identify the similarities and differences between their perspectives on educating children. The research applies a qualitative method using a library research approach, with data drawn primarily from the original works of both scholars. The findings show that Ibnu Qayyim al-Jauziyyah, in Tuhfat al-Mawlūd bi Ahkām al-Mawlūd, emphasizes children’s education through the values of faith, morality, adherence to Sharia, work ethic, and intellect. His suggested methods include habituation, role modeling, advice, encouragement, and constructive discipline. In contrast, Nashir bin Sulaiman al-Umar, in Buyūt Muṭma’innah, highlights values such as monotheism, morality, compassion, empathy, respect for parents, and intellect, with methods including dialogue, role modeling, habituation, attention, gentleness, and prayer. Both scholars share a similar foundation of values and methods, but differ in approach. Ibnu Qayyim presents a more systematic framework grounded in Islamic jurisprudence, supported by references to the Qur’an, Sunnah, and classical scholars. Meanwhile, Nashir’s approach is more empathetic, marked by an emphasis on gentleness toward children, the use of language that appeals to the heart, and contemporary examples relevant to parents’ lives. Abstract

The phenomenon of long distance marriage has increasingly emerged as a consequence of economic demands and occupational mobility, particularly in rural areas. This condition requires married couples to develop effective interpersonal communication strategies in order to maintain marital harmony despite physical separation. This study aims to examine the interpersonal communication strategies employed by married couples in sustaining harmonious relationships within the context of long distance marriage in Sugihan Village, Solokuro District, Lamongan Regency. This research adopts a qualitative approach using a phenomenological method to explore the lived experiences of couples engaged in long-distance marital relationships. Data were collected through non-participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research informants consisted of married couples practicing long distance marriage as well as supporting informants. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model proposed by Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that couples implement various interpersonal communication strategies to preserve marital harmony, including openness and honesty in communication, flexible utilization of communication technology, emotional and conflict management, adjustment of communication timing, and reinforcement of trust and emotional support. Despite encountering obstacles such as differing work schedules, limited time availability, and technical disruptions, couples are able to manage these challenges through mutual understanding and adaptive communication practices. This study underscores that the quality of interpersonal communication plays a crucial role in maintaining harmony in long distance marriage relationships.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berawal dari kesadaran akan pentingnya kemampuan memahami bahasa Arab untuk memutqinkan menghafal Al-Qur’an di lingkungan pesantren. Banyak santri menghadapi kesulitan dalam menjaga hafalannya karena kurang memahami arti dan struktur ayat yang dihafal. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan pendekatan pembelajaran yang tidak hanya menekankan pada pengulangan (tikrār), tetapi juga mengaitkan pemahaman kebahasaan dengan kandungan makna ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an.Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah untuk membahas penerapan metode menghafal Al-Qur’an melalui pendekatan bahasa Arab di Pondok Ashhabul Qur’an Sumatera Barat, serta menilai sejauh mana pendekatan tersebut berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan kualitas hafalan para santri. Penelitian ini memakai pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui pengamatan terhadap kegiatan tahfizh, wawancara mendalam dengan ustadzah dan para santri, serta mengumpulkan data yang sesuai dan cocok dengan kegiatan pembelajaran. Proses analisis dilaksanakan dengan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian informasi dalam bentuk uraian deskriptif, dan penarikan kesimpulan berdasarkan temuan lapangan. Hasil penelitian mengindikasikan bahwa penerapan metode hafalan berbasis bahasa Arab dapat meningkatkan daya ingat, pemahaman makna, serta disiplin santri dalam menjaga hafalan. Penguasaan struktur bahasa Arab membantu para santri menghafal dengan kesadaran makna, bukan semata pengulangan lafaz. Pendekatan ini dinilai efektif dan dapat diterapkan secara luas dalam sistem pendidikan tahfizh yang berorientasi pada pemahaman makna Al-Qur’an.
