Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi representasi kepemimpinan dalam serial anime Jepang One Piece, dengan fokus pada tokoh Monkey D. Luffy serta interaksinya dengan karakter lain dan berbagai konflik. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, penelitian ini menganalisis adegan naratif terpilih untuk mengkaji nilai-nilai kepemimpinan, dinamika tim, dan resolusi konflik, berdasarkan pengamatan mendalam terhadap dialog, perkembangan alur cerita, dan momen simbolis yang menyoroti praktik kepemimpinan. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa Luffy merefleksikan secara kuat kepemimpinan transformasional, yang ditunjukkan melalui kemampuannya menginspirasi dan memotivasi orang lain, memberdayakan krunya, serta mendorong persatuan di tengah perbedaan. Gaya kepemimpinan ini menekankan visi, kepercayaan, dan tujuan bersama, sejalan dengan teori modern yang memandang kepemimpinan sebagai relasional daripada hierarkis, dan melalui pembentukan loyalitas serta ketangguhan, Luffy mewujudkan sosok pemimpin transformasional yang mendorong pertumbuhan pribadi, kolaborasi, dan pencapaian kolektif. Namun, nilai-nilai tersebut terus diuji oleh konflik yang berulang dengan pihak Angkatan Laut, yang melambangkan perjuangan lebih luas terkait TujuanPembangunan Berkelanjutan (SDGs), khususnya Tujuan 16 tentang perdamaian, keadilan, dan kelembagaan yang tangguh, sehingga memperlihatkan bahwa kepemimpinan transformasional harus adaptif terhadap resistensi, ketidakpastian, dan ketidakadilan sosial. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa One Piece bukan sekadar hiburan, melainkan juga sumber pembelajaran kepemimpinan yang relevan bagi konteks organisasi maupun personal, serta menunjukkan bagaimana narasi fiksi seperti anime dapat menjadi media efektif untuk pendidikan kepemimpinanbdan pengembangan karakter dalam dinamika sosial yang kompleks. ABSTRACT This study explores the representation of leadership in the Japanese anime series One Piece, focusing on the character Monkey D. Luffy and his interactions with other key figures and conflicts throughout the storyline. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this research examines selected narrative scenes to analyze leadership values, team dynamics, and conflict resolution within the plot. Data are drawn from in-depth observation of character dialogues, plot developments, and symbolic moments that highlight leadership practices. Findings reveal that Luffy demonstrates core elements of transformational leadership, including inspiring and motivating others, empowering team members, and promoting unity despite differences. However, these leadership values are often tested by recurring conflicts between pirates and the Marine, which reflect broader challenges to achieving Sustainable Development Goals such as peace, justice, and strong institutions. This study concludes that One Piece offers more than entertainment; it provides valuable insights into leadership that are relevant for both organizational and personal contexts. Fictional narratives like anime can serve as effective media for leadership education and character development. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the research analyzes selected narrative scenes to examineleadership values, team dynamics, and conflict resolution, with data drawn from close observation of dialogues, plot developments, and symbolic moments that highlight leadership practices. Findings indicate that Luffy strongly reflects transformational leadership, demonstrated through his ability to inspire and motivate others, empower his crew, and promote unity despite differences. His leadership style emphasizes vision, trust, and shared purpose, aligning with modern theories that view leadership as relational rather than hierarchical, and by cultivating loyalty and resilience, Luffy embodies the transformational leader who encourages personal growth, collaboration, and collective achievement. However, these values are continually challenged by recurring conflictswith the Marine, which symbolize broader struggles tied to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 16 on peace, justice, and strong institutions, thereby showing that transformational leadership must adapt to resistance, uncertainty, and social injustice. This study concludes that One Piece provides more than entertainment; it serves as a meaningful source of lleadership lessons relevant for both organizational and personal contexts, and demonstrates how fictional narratives like anime can function as effective media for leadership education and character development, while illustrating how transformational leadership operates within complex social dynamics.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Kepemimpinan adalah bentuk kemampuan individu dalam memengaruhi, mengarahkan, serta menggerakkan orang lain demi mencapai tujuan bersama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk-bentuk kepemimpinan visioner oleh tokoh Kartika, termasuk bagaimana ia merancang visi serta langkah strategis dalam memperjuangkan keadilan bagi ayahnya. Serta mengetahui keberanian dan komitmen Kartika dalam menegakkan kebenaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian metode kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan pada penelitian ini yaitu observasi pengamatan mendalam melalui film dan dokumentasi dengan berupa tangkapan layar dari film untuk memperkuat hasil observasi yang telah dilakukan. Hasil penelitian ini berupa dialog percakapan, gambar scene, argumen dari penulis, serta karakteristik kepemimpinan visionerkarakter Kartika yang terdapat pada film. Film Miracle in Cell No.7 merupakan film drama yang mengisahkan perjuangan seorang ayah bernama Dodo Rozak yang mengalami ketidakadilan hukum, serta perjuangan putrinya Kartika yang berusaha membersihkan nama ayahnya. Kartika menggambarkan sebagai seorang anak yang sejak kecil menyaksikan ketidakadilan yang menimpa ayahnya. Tetapi pada saat dewasa, ia tumbuh menjadi sosok yang berani dan memiliki visi yang jelas yaitu menegakkan keadilan dan mengungkap kebenaran yang selama ini tertutup. ABSTRACT Leadership is an individual's ability to influence, direct, and motivate others to achieve common goals. This study aims to describe the forms of visionary leadership exhibited by Kartika, including how she developed her vision and strategic steps in fighting for justice for her father. It also aims to examine Kartika's courage and commitment in upholding the truth. This research uses a descriptive qualitative research method. The data collection technique in this study is in-depth observation through films and documentation in the form of screenshots from the film to reinforce the results of the observations that have been made. The results of this study are in the form of dialogue, scene images, arguments from the author, and the characteristics of Kartika's visionary leadership in the film. Miracle in Cell No. 7 is a drama film that tells the story of the struggle of a father named Dodo Rozak who experiences legal injustice, as well as the struggle of his daughter Kartika who tries to clear her father's name. Kartika is portrayed as a child who has witnessed the injustice that has befallen her father since she was little. However, as an adult, she grows into a courageous figure with a clear vision of upholding justice and revealing the truth that has been hidden all this time.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Kepemimpinan tidak hanya ditentukan oleh kemampuan dalam menyusun strategi, tetapi juga dipengaruhi oleh karakter yang terbentuk melalui pengalaman hidup. Nilai seperti integritas, keberanian, dan keteladanan menjadi dasar penting yang memungkinkan terciptanya kepemimpinan yang otentik dan mampu memberikan pengaruh positif. Namun, kenyataannya banyak pemimpin justru lahir dari warisan kekuasaan atau kedudukan keluarga, sehingga proses pembentukan karakter seringkali diabaikan. Dari kenyataan tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana pengalaman hidup Mufasa dalam film Mufasa: The Lion King (2024) membentukkarakter kepemimpinan otentik, serta menelaah ketercerminan komponen self-awareness, relational transparency, balanced processing, dan internalized moral perspective dalam perjalanan hidup tokoh utama. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif melalui observasi non-partisipan terhadap adegan film, dokumentasi transkrip dialog, serta penguatan dari literatur terkait. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengalaman hidup yang penuh kehilangan, tekanan, dan konflikjustru menjadi dasar pembentukan kepemimpinan otentik. Kesadaran diri tercermin dalam pengakuan jati diri, keterbukaan tampak melalui ungkapan perasaan kehilangan, kemampuan menimbang secara adil terlihat pada ajakan kolaborasi antar spesies, dan konsistensi moral diperlihatkan dengan sikap menolak tunduk padakejahatan. Nilai integritas, keberanian, serta keteladanan yang muncul dari perjalanan hidup tersebut menegaskan bahwa kepemimpinan otentik terbentuk dari proses panjang, bukan dari garis keturunan ataupun status semata. ABSTRACT Leadership is not only determined by the ability to develop strategies, but is also influenced by character formed through life experiences. Values such as integrity, courage, and exemplary behavior are important foundations that enable the creation of authentic leadership capable of exerting a positive influence. However, in reality, many leaders are born into positions of power or family status, so the process of character building is often neglected. Given this reality, this study aims to analyze how Mufasa's life experiences in the film Mufasa: The Lion King (2024) shape his authentic leadership character, as well as to examine the reflection of the components of selfawareness,relational transparency, balanced processing, and internalized moral perspective in the main character's life journey. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach through non-participant observation of film scenes, documentation of dialogue transcripts, and reinforcement from related literature. The results show that life experiences full of loss, pressure, and conflict, actually form the basis of authentic leadership. Self-awareness is reflected in the recognition of identity, openness is seen through the expression of feelings of loss, the ability to weigh things fairly is seen in the call for collaboration between species, and moral consistency is shown by the refusal to submit to evil. The values of integrity, courage, and exemplary behavior that emerge from this life journey, confirm that authentic leadership is formed through a long process,not solely through lineage or status.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana nilai budaya keluarga berperan dalam membentuk pola kepemimpinan tokoh-tokoh utama dalam film Coco (2017), serta bagaimana dilema antara aspirasi pribadi dan tradisi keluarga memengaruhi dinamika kepemimpinan keluarga Rivera. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik observasi dan dokumentasi, yaitu melalui peninjauan adegan, dialog, serta simbol visual dalam film. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Abuelita merepresentasikan kepemimpinan otoriter dengan menekankan kepatuhan penuh demi menjaga tradisi, sementara Miguel menampilkankepemimpinan inklusif yang berusaha menjembatani impiannya menjadi musisi dengan nilai budaya keluarga. Konflik antar generasi yang terjadi menggambarkan dilema antara mempertahankan tradisi dan mengikuti aspirasi pribadi, namun akhirnya harmoni tercapai melalui kepemimpinan yang berakar pada kasih sayang keluarga. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa nilai budaya keluarga memiliki peran fundamental dalam membentuk gaya kepemimpinan, serta relevan dengan agenda global SDG 5 yaitu Kesetaraan Gender dan SDG 11 yakni Kota dan Komunitas Berkelanjutan. ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze how family cultural values contribute to shaping the leadership patterns of the main characters in the film Coco (2017) and how the dilemma between personal aspirations and family tradition affects leadership dynamics within the Rivera family. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, using observation and documentation techniques to examine key scenes, dialogues, and visual symbols in the film. Findings indicate that Abuelita embodies authoritarian leadership by insisting on strict compliance to preserve family traditions, whereas Miguel demonstrates inclusive leadership by attempting to reconcile his musical aspirations with familial values. The intergenerational conflict depicted in the film illustrates the tension between maintaining tradition and pursuing individual aspirations, yet ultimately harmony is restored through leadership rooted in familial care and affection. These results underscore the fundamental role of family cultural values in shaping leadership styles and highlight the findings’ relevance to global agendas such as SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).

Abstract

ABSTRAK Dinamika organisasi sering kali memunculkan konflik, terutama dalam tim yang bergantung padakolaborasi untuk mencapai tujuan mereka. Dalam tim olahraga, perbedaan pendapat mengenai peran,strategi, dan komunikasi dapat berdampak signifikan terhadap kinerja serta hubungan antaranggota.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana gaya manajemen konflik, khususnya competingdan collaborating, ditampilkan dalam film Moneyball (2011) serta bagaimana pendekatan tersebutmemengaruhi dinamika tim. Dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif melalui analisis konten,penelitian ini menelaah adegan, dialog, dan interaksi Billy Beane, manajer umum Oakland Athletics,terkait penerapan strategi competing dan collaborating. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Beanemenerapkan gaya competing ketika membuat keputusan strategis yang tegas dan menolak metoderekrutmen tradisional, sementara gaya collaborating muncul dalam kerja samanya dengan Peter Branddan para pemain untuk merancang solusi inovatif berbasis data. Kombinasi ini mempercepat perubahanorganisasi sekaligus memperkuat motivasi dan kerja sama tim. Penggunaan yang tepat dari masingmasing gaya memastikan konflik menjadi peluang untuk kreativitas, bukan sumber perpecahan.Penelitian ini menyoroti potensi film sebagai media reflektif dalam memahami perilaku organisasi danmanajemen konflik, yang menjembatani teori dan praktik dengan cara yang menarik. Penelitianselanjutnya dapat mengkaji film manajemen lainnya atau membandingkan strategi manajemen konflikdalam berbagai konteks organisasi untuk memperkaya perspektif tentang kepemimpinan efektif dankolaborasi tim. ABSTRACT Organizational dynamics often give rise to conflicts, particularly in teams that depend on collaborationto achieve their goals. In sports teams, disagreements about roles, strategy, and communication cansignificantly affect performance and relationships among members. This study aims to explore howconflict management styles, specifically competing and collaborating, are portrayed in the film Moneyball(2011) and how these approaches influence team dynamics. Using a qualitative descriptive method withcontent analysis, the research examines scenes, dialogues, and interactions of Billy Beane, the generalmanager of the Oakland Athletics, in relation to his application of competing and collaborating strategies.The findings reveal that Beane applies the competing style when making firm strategic decisions andresisting traditional recruitment methods, while the collaborating style emerges in his cooperation withPeter Brand and the players to design innovative, data-driven solutions. This combination accelerates organizational change while strengthening motivation and teamwork. Proper use of each style ensuresthat conflicts become opportunities for creativity rather than sources of division.The study highlights thepotential of films as reflective media for understanding organizational behavior and conflict management,bridging theory and practice in an engaging way. Future research may examine other management-relatedfilms or compare conflict management strategies across different organizational contexts to enrichperspectives on effective leadership and team collaboration.
