Abstract

The aim of this community service is to provide a democracy learning model workshop for elementary school teachers in Central Java. This activity is to socialize and practice the skills of the democratic learning model at the elementary level. In this activity, 26 elementary school teachers participated by online (Zoom Application). This community service is carried out in the form of a workshop with the first stage in the form of lecturing, questions and answers, and discussions. While the next stage is in the form of practice. Based on the implementation of this community service, it can be concluded that: first, this workshop is able to improve the knowledge and skills of elementary school teachers in Central Java of democracy learning model. This workshop also produced a video product of the steps of the democracy learning model. This workshop was considered success because all participants participated fully.

Abstract

Character education is a series of efforts to educate children to behave well, make the right decisions, and participate in positive societal contributions. The problem is that traditional games have started to disappear because, currently, elementary school-aged children prefer modern games. The advantages of traditional games are messages related to togetherness, culture, and morals. Community service aims to foster character in elementary school-aged children. The method of implementing the activities is socialization and direction related to traditional games shaping the character of elementary school-aged children. Activities are carried out by providing direct guidance to children when playing games. The result of this service program is that the program to socialize the importance of traditional games and the cheerful playing movement to foster the character of elementary school-aged children is carried out well. The activities conclude that the character formation of elementary school-aged children can be done through traditional games.
