Abstract

This study aims to develop and assess the validity and practicality of the ASTRON application as an interactive learning medium for solar system material in sixth-grade elementary school. The development of this application was motivated by students’ difficulties in understanding abstract concepts such as the Earth's rotation, planetary revolution, and planetary characteristics, which cannot be directly observed. In addition, the development was also driven by the need for interactive learning media that align with technological advancements to support a more effective learning process. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The product was validated by six validators, consisting of three subject matter experts and three media experts, with validation results of 94.61% and 91.29%, respectively—both categorized as very valid. Practicality testing was conducted in three stages: individual trials (91%), small group trials (90%), and large group trials (99%), all of which indicated the very practical category. The ASTRON application contains interactive multimedia content, including text-based material, illustrative images, instructional videos, quizzes, and educational games. It was developed based on constructivist and behaviorist learning theories, Mayer’s multimedia theory, and the VAK learning style approach (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic). The results indicate that the ASTRON application is feasible and practical to use as a learning medium that can enhance student engagement and motivation in learning about the solar system.

Abstract

The development of interactive learning multimedia integrated with Augmented Reality is driven by the fact that technology-based learning media are not used enough in IPAS education, especially on abstract materials such as the changes in the earth's surface due to natural factors. This study aims to determine the development procedures, feasibility, effectiveness, and responses of teachers and students to interactive learning multimedia integrated with Augmented Reality on the material of changes in the earth's surface due to natural factors in fifth-grade elementary school. The research design uses a One Group Pretest-Posttest. The Research and Development study uses the ADDIE model, which has five steps: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The feasibility test method uses a questionnaire evaluated by expert validators in content and media. Data analysis techniques used include normality tests, hypothesis tests, and N-Gain tests. The effectiveness test of using interactive learning multimedia showed that in the normality test, the pretest result was sig 0.002 < 0.05 and the posttest result was sig < 0.001 < 0.05 (not normally distributed). The hypothesis test (Wilcoxon) yielded a sig (2-tailed) value of < 0.001 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest. The results of the N-Gain test showed an average (mean) of 0.5708 (moderate criteria), and the N-Gain percentage was 57.0839% (fairly effective).

Abstract

This study aims to develop an android-based SICERNA application as a learning medium to improve the conceptual understanding of fifth grade elementary school students on the human digestive system material. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model which includes five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subjects of the study were 32 fifth grade students of SDN Genteng 1. Data collection instruments included interviews, questionnaires, and tests. The results of the media expert validation showed an average score of 90.7%, while the results of the material expert validation obtained a score of 93.5%, both of which are included in the very decent category. Students' responses to the SICERNA application using the System Usability Scale (SUS) instrument obtained a score of 91, which is included in the very good category. The test results showed that the average pretest score was 47.53, while the average posttest score increased to 75.78, and the results of the Paired Sample t-Test showed a significance value (Sig.) Of 0.000 <0.05, which means that there was an increase in students' conceptual understanding after using the learning application. Product effectiveness test through N-Gain test analysis showed an average score of 0.5816, which is in the moderate category, and effectiveness of 58.16%, which is included in the fairly effective category. Thus, the SICERNA application is declared feasible and effective to be used as a science learning media and can be considered as an effective solution to improve students' conceptual understanding of the human digestive system material.

Abstract

The background of this study is the low student learning outcomes caused by conventional learning, which tends to be monotonous and teacher-centered. This study used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental research type and a pretest-posttest control group design. The study sample consisted of two groups: an experimental group treated with experimental learning, and a control group treated with conventional learning methods. Data analysis used normality and homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing using the Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests due to the non-normal distribution of the data. The results of this study indicate that there is a difference in cognitive ability improvement between the experimental and control groups. The experimental group using the experimental learning method obtained an average N-Gain score of 0.587 (moderate category), while the control group obtained an average score of 0.389 (moderate category). The results obtained were greater in the experimental group, indicating that the experimental method was more effective than conventional learning in improving students' cognitive abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an interactive multimedia application-based learning media MEGADIK (Classifying Forces Around Us) to improve the understanding of fourth-grade elementary school students on the material of force classification in science subjects. The study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research subjects consisted of 41 fourth-grade students, a class teacher, and two validators, material experts and media experts. The research instruments included a validation questionnaire, student response questionnaire, interviews, and pretest and posttest tests. The results of the media expert validation showed a feasibility percentage of 96% (very feasible category), while the material expert validation obtained 95% (appropriate material category). The effectiveness test through N-gain analysis produced an average score of 0.60 (moderate category) or 60.25% (quite effective) with an average increase in value from 52.59 (pretest) to 81.15 (posttest). Student responses to the application showed a very good category in all aspects, with the highest score in ease of use of 92.93%. These findings demonstrate that MEGADIK can concretely visualize abstract concepts, increase motivation, and encourage active student engagement. This application is recommended as an alternative learning medium for science instruction in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of digital teaching materials in science learning at SDN Kondang 01. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study approach. Data was obtained through observation, structured interviews with two teachers who used digital teaching materials in science learning and documentation. The focus of the study includes identifying needs, supporting factors, obstacles faced, and the impact of the use of digital teaching materials in science learning. The findings show that learning videos from the YouTube platform are the most frequently used digital media because they are able to convey material visually and attractively, making it easier for students to understand. The success of the use of digital teaching materials is supported by the availability of devices such as laptops, projectors, internet networks, and teachers' skills in operating technology. However, the learning process still faces a number of challenges, such as network disruptions, limited student devices, and technical obstacles such as power outages or damaged equipment. The use of digital teaching materials has a positive influence, including increasing students' enthusiasm and motivation to learn, making it easier for teachers to deliver abstract material and encouraging teachers to continue to develop competence and creativity. To overcome the barrier, teachers implement strategies such as downloading video materials first or combining digital learning with hands-on practice. This study recommends the need to improve infrastructure and technology training facilities for teachers to support the optimization of digital teaching materials in science learning at the elementary school level.

Abstract

 This study aims to develop a learning media in the form of animated videos for the subject of Natural Science and Social Science (IPAS) on the topic of states of matter for fourth-grade elementary school students. The background of this research is based on the low interest in learning among students due to the limitations of the learning media used by teachers, resulting in a monotonous learning process. Therefore, there is a need for technology-based learning media that can attract students' interest and make the learning process more interactive. The research was conducted at a school in Sumedang Regency using the Research and Development (R&D) method and the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The data collection and processing were carried out through student response questionnaires and validation results from media and material experts. The validation results from media experts showed a "Very Feasible" category with an average percentage of 90%, while validation from material experts obtained an average percentage of 95% with the same category. Student responses to the use of this animated video reached an average percentage of 82.92% and were also categorized as "Very Feasible." Based on these results, it can be concluded that this animated video media is suitable to be used as an alternative for IPAS learning on the topic of states of matter for fourth-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a learning media product in the form of a PANDA flipbook to improve students' conceptual understanding of the material on changes in the state of matter of grade IV SDN Sukanagara, Sumedang Regency. The research method used is the R&D (Research & Development) method by utilizing the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) model. The research instruments used include interview guidelines, validation sheets for media experts and material experts, student response questionnaires, and test question instruments. The validation results by media experts showed a score of 88.5% which is included in the very feasible category, while the validation results of material experts reached a score of 93.5% with a very feasible category, and for user responses, namely grade IV students obtained an average score of 86% in the range indicating very satisfactory usability. In addition, the results of the pretest and posttest showed a significant increase in students' conceptual understanding after implementing learning using the PANDA flipbook media. Based on the paired sample t-test, the average pretest score was 54.20, increasing to 78.67 in the posttest, and the n-gain test result was 0.5650, which is included in the moderate category. Thus, the development of PANDA flipbook learning media is feasible to be used in learning and is effective in helping students understand the concept of the material better.

Abstract

Integrated learning media with technology is believed to be an effective alternative for teachers in supporting students' learning process. Currently, students need interesting digital teaching materials that support the learning process. This study aims to: 1) Determine the design and development of the ACITUM e-book (I Love Plants) to introduce plant parts and functions to fourth grade students in Elementary Schools. 2) Determine the results of the implementation of the development of the ACITUM e-book (I Love Plants) to introduce plant parts and functions to fourth grade students in Elementary Schools. The research method used in this study is Research and Development (R&D). This study uses the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The suitability aspect of the ACITUM e-book trial is in the very Valid category with a material feasibility percentage of 93% and a media feasibility percentage of 94%. The average SUS score for using the ACITUM e-book is 91.25, ranked A, with the Best Imaginable category, the ACITUM e-book is in an acceptable condition, and the interpretation results of the Net Promoter Score (NPS) show the Promoter level. The results of interviews with students showed that the ACITUM e-book was considered very helpful, interesting, and enjoyable for students in learning science materials, especially about the parts and functions of plants.
