Abstract

This study discusses the framing conducted by detik.com and reuters.com on the issue of the 2019 Papua riots. It is motivated by the tendency of the different news angles from each of these both media. It uses a qualitative method using Robert Entman's media framing theory which divides framing into two large dimensions: the selection of issues and the highlighting of certain aspects of the issue. Studies on two online medias: detik.com and reuters.com are intended to provide a comparison of the ideology between the domestic and foreign media in framing the issues of riots that are in direct dealing with the government. The analysis shows that detik.com conducted an issue selection by describing the riots in Papua as a security issue. This media highlighted aspects of the Indonesian government's role in overcoming the riots. On the other hand, reuters.com described it as a social issue by highlighting aspects of discrimination and violence by the Indonesian government in overcoming the riots.

Abstract

Social Media has become ubiquitous in society, with nearly everyone, regardless of their generation or background, having a presence on various platforms. This aligns with the reality that contemporary society already employs social media as a means to distribute knowledge. There is a consensus that social media facilitates rapid, accurate, and efficient work. Social media platforms offer a rapid means of communication and information dissemination. The objective of this study is to ascertain the utilisation of Twitter, a specific form of social media, as a platform for the dissemination of public information through the Twitter account @Jogmfs. A menfess account is a specific sort of account that allows followers to send tweets automatically through the associated Twitter account. Additional followers are welcome to offer replies, reactions, or further inquiries. This study is a qualitative descriptive research that was conducted using data obtained from interviews and a survey of existing literature. This study use Regina Luttrell's SoMe theory as a research instrument. The research findings indicate that individuals in Jogja who follow the Twitter account @jogmfs perceive Twitter as an efficient platform for exchanging information about Yogyakarta. However, it should be noted that in certain circumstances, irrelevant material is also transmitted through this Twitter account.

Abstract

The study used the Circular Model Of Some theory from Regina Luttrel which explains planning in using social media using 4 stages, namely share, manage, optimize and engage. From the data found, the DIY Communication and Information Office utilizes Instagram features as well as possible by distributing quality information and educational content, approaching followers in a responsive and responsive manner and having transparency to the community, approaching followers with the call "lurr ", packaging content according to the target audience and collaborating with other agencies. The use of Instagram @kominfodiy in publication and information media is indeed good and optimal, although there are still shortcomings, namely the production of too much content, resulting in less than optimal content.

Abstract

The role of media relations and public relations at Diskominfo DIY is quite important, where the role is to publish information quickly, either directly or through websites and other social media. This research uses several indicators in maintaining the image at Diskominfo DIY from Frank Jefkins' theory of serving the media, services provided by public relations by providing press releases, researchers have made observations, where public relations provides services to the media in the form of press releases which are useful for answering and also responding to planned or unplanned events, this proves that Diskominfo DIY public relations practitioners apply by serving the media, where the services provided by public relations to the media are in accordance with what is needed by the media in any situation.

Abstract

The development of “PeduliLindungi” Application is one of the government's efforts to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. The government designed this application to track and detect the potential spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus so that it does not spread further. Recording vaccinations, history oaf exposure to viruses, and personal health status in this application is personal data that can be used stakeholders related to getting an idea of a person's condition or health status. The “PeduliLindungi” application become a real picture of the progress of digital-based health communication. Using this application during the Covid-19 pandemic has become an obligation for everyone if they want to access public services. Through an Interpretative Phenomenology analytical study approach developed from the ideas of Georg Gadamer's Hermeneutics, researchers attempt to explore further the understanding and meaning of the use of “PeduliLindungi” application in implementing the vaccination program as a mitigation measure for handling the Covid-19 outbreak in the city of Yogyakarta. The target subjects of this research are all user of “PeduliLindungi” application in Yogyakarta. The users of “PeduliLindungi” application, especially those survivors who have been infected with Covid-19. The research results show that there is a tendency for the subject's understanding of “Peduli Lindungi” application development only as an instrument of health communication with all the ethical risk consequences therein. The use of applications is more related to procedural formalities and is not based on awareness of choice because health aspects are fully considered. Communication in the “PeduliLindungi” application could be said that it has not yet formed an understanding but is limited to being a means of control over the individual's body.ABSTRAKPengembangan aplikasi PeduliLindungi menjadi salah satu upaya pemerintah merespon pandemi COVID-19. Pemerintah merancang aplikasi ini untuk melacak serta mendeteksi adanya potensi penyebaran virus SARS-CoV-2 agar tidak semakin meluas. Pencatatan vaksinasi, riwayat terpapar virus, dan status kesehatan personal dalam aplikasi ini menjadi data pribadi yang bisa dimanfaatkan stakeholders terkait untuk mendapatkan gambaran kondisi atau status kesehatan seseorang. Aplikasi PeduliLindungi menjadi gambaran nyata dari wajah kemajuan komunikasi kesehatan berbasis digital. Penggunaan aplikasi ini dalam masa pandemi Covid-19 bertransformasi menjadi kewajiban bagi setiap orang jika mereka ingin mengakses layanan publik. Melalui pendekatan kajian analisis Fenomenologi Interpretatif yang dikembangkan dari gagasan Hermeneutika Georg Gadamer peneliti berupaya untuk menggali lebih lanjut mengenai pemahaman dan pemaknaan atas pemanfaatan aplikasi PeduliLindungi dalam pelaksanaan program vaksinasi sebagai langkah mitigasi penanganan wabah Covid-19 di kota Yogyakarta. Subjek sasaran dari riset ini adalah para pengguna aplikasi PeduliLindungi, terutama mereka para penyintas yang pernah terinfeksi Covid-19. Hasil riset menemukan bahwa ada kecenderungan pemaknaan subjek terhadap aplikasi PeduliLindungi hanya sebatas sebagaai instrumen formalitas karena bertujuan memenuhi aturan SOP semata. Penggunaan aplikasi lebih banyak terkait dengan formalitas prosedural dan tidak didasari oleh kesadaran pilihan karena pertimbangan aspek kepentingan kesehatan. Komunikasi melalui aplikasi PeduliLindungi bisa dikatakan belum membentuk ‘kesepahaman’ namun sebatas menjadi instrumen kontrol atas tubuh individu.
