Abstract

This study analyzes KH. Hasyim Asy’ari’s concept of Educational Jihad as a strategic response to moral erosion and identity crises among youth in the era of globalization—a gap rarely addressed in previous Islamic education studies. Using a qualitative library research method and content analysis of Adabul ‘Alim wal Muta’allim and related literature, this research finds that Educational Jihad should be reinterpreted as a form of Contemporary Great Jihad encompassing intellectual, moral, and national dimensions. The key findings highlight three core implementations: strengthening learning ethics and teacher respect, integrating religious and scientific knowledge, and developing a pioneering spirit (Jihad Amaliyah). The novelty lies in formulating Educational Jihad as an integrated educational framework that reinforces resilience, character ethics, and national identity. Practically, this model contributes to shaping a generation that is intellectually competent, morally grounded, and adaptive to global challenges. Penelitian ini menganalisis konsep Jihad Pendidikan KH. Hasyim Asy’ari sebagai respons strategis terhadap erosi moral dan krisis identitas generasi muda di era globalisasi—sebuah kesenjangan yang jarang dibahas dalam studi pendidikan Islam sebelumnya. Menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif jenis studi pustaka dengan analisis konten terhadap Adabul ‘Alim wal Muta’allim dan literatur terkait, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa Jihad Pendidikan perlu ditafsirkan sebagai Jihad Akbar Kontemporer yang mencakup dimensi intelektual, moral, dan kebangsaan. Temuan utama menunjukkan tiga implementasi: penguatan etika belajar dan penghormatan terhadap guru, integrasi ilmu agama dan sains, serta pengembangan semangat kepeloporan (Jihad Amaliyah). Kebaruan penelitian ini terletak pada formulasi Jihad Pendidikan sebagai kerangka pendidikan terpadu yang memperkuat ketahanan moral, etika karakter, dan identitas kebangsaan. Secara praktis, model ini berkontribusi membentuk generasi yang cerdas, berakhlak, dan adaptif terhadap tantangan global.

Abstract

This study analyzes the management of integrating Kitab Kuning into Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teaching materials through the optimization of the Sorogan and Bandongan methods in contemporary madrasas. The relevance of this study lies in the need for a systematic management model that bridges traditional pesantren pedagogies with modern curriculum demands. Using qualitative library research, this article examines the structural characteristics of Kitab Kuning and formulates a management framework for planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating its integration within PAI learning. The findings show that Kitab Kuning remains a strategic source for strengthening students’ spiritual and conceptual understanding, yet its implementation requires structured management to adapt Sorogan into individualized assessment mechanisms and Bandongan into collective digital or classroom-based instruction. The proposed integration model supports curriculum enrichment, improves learning quality, and enhances teacher roles as knowledge transmitters. This study concludes that effective integration management strengthens both instructional depth and institutional identity in madrasas.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the gap between the ideal objectives of Islamic education in fostering noble character and the reality of students’ moral behavior in schools. Pre-lesson spiritual habituation is viewed as a strategic program that requires proper management to ensure its effectiveness and sustainability. This study aims to analyze the management of pre-learning spiritual routines in strengthening students’ noble character, focusing on the functions of planning, organizing, implementing, supervising, and evaluating. This research employs a library research approach by examining books, scholarly articles, and relevant studies, which are analyzed qualitatively. The findings indicate that well-managed spiritual habituation programs contribute to the development of students’ discipline, honesty, responsibility, politeness, emotional intelligence, and social piety. Furthermore, systematic management of spiritual routines supports the establishment of a religious school culture as part of the hidden curriculum. Therefore, the management of pre-lesson spiritual habituation plays a strategic role in strengthening students’ noble character within the framework of Islamic educational management. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya kesenjangan antara tujuan ideal pendidikan Islam dalam membentuk akhlakul karimah dengan realitas perilaku siswa di sekolah. Pembiasaan santapan rohani sebelum pembelajaran dipandang sebagai program strategis yang memerlukan pengelolaan manajerial agar berjalan efektif dan berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis manajemen pembiasaan santapan rohani sebelum pembelajaran dalam penguatan akhlakul karimah siswa, ditinjau dari fungsi perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan, pengawasan, dan evaluasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kepustakaan (library research) dengan mengkaji buku, artikel ilmiah, dan hasil penelitian relevan yang dianalisis secara kualitatif. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan santapan rohani yang terencana, terstruktur, dan diawasi secara sistematis berkontribusi pada penguatan kedisiplinan, kejujuran, tanggung jawab, sopan santun, kecerdasan emosional, serta kesalehan sosial siswa. Selain itu, manajemen pembiasaan ini berperan dalam membangun budaya religius sekolah sebagai bagian dari kurikulum tersembunyi. Dengan demikian, santapan rohani yang dikelola secara manajerial menjadi instrumen strategis dalam penguatan akhlakul karimah siswa di sekolah.

Abstract

The era of disruption and digitalization presents increasingly complex challenges for the educational sector, requiring teachers not only to possess strong academic and pedagogical competencies but also to demonstrate resilient personal character in responding to moral crises and the evolving characteristics of students. This study aims to reconstruct teachers’ personality competence through the integration of Makārim al-Syarī‘ah values as a foundational framework for strengthening teacher professionalism in madrasah education. Employing a qualitative approach with a library research method, the study analyzes a range of scholarly literature related to teacher personality competence, the concept of Makārim al-Syarī‘ah, and professional standards for educators. The findings reveal that the reconstruction of personality competence based on Makārim al-Syarī‘ah, which emphasizes the purification and development of the human soul through the values of hikmah (wisdom), ‘iffah (self-restraint), syajā‘ah (moral courage), and ‘adālah (justice), is capable of transforming teachers into authentic role models (uswah hasanah) with strong integrity and exemplary character. The integration of these virtues contributes to the enhancement of professional ethics, spiritual responsibility, honesty, and moral commitment in educational practice. This study concludes that personality competence grounded in religious values constitutes a strategic factor in improving the quality of madrasah education, as it directly influences students’ character development, learning motivation, and the creation of a conducive and adaptive educational environment in the digital age.
