Abstract

The low reading ability of students is caused by various factors, one of which is the lack of interest in reading among students. The aim of this research is to measure the initial reading ability of elementary school students, especially grade I students. This type of research is quantitative research, using experimental methods. The sampling technique was carried out using a purposive sampling technique. In obtaining data, researchers carried out an initial test (pretest) and a final test (posttest). The data technique used is descriptive analysis techniques and descriptive statistical analysis by testing hypotheses using t-test statistics. The data obtained was then analyzed using statistical analysis techniques, namely descriptive statistics. Based on the hypothesis test, it can be concluded that the picture and picture cooperative learning model assisted by alphabet card media affects the reading ability of elementary school students.

Abstract

The use of multimedia technology in early childhood education is increasingly developing along with the advancement of information technology. One important aspect to introduce to early childhood is Arabic, both as a religious language and a language with significant historical and cultural value. This research aims to develop a multimedia application to introduce the Arabic language at Raudatul Atfhal Kindergarten (RA) and evaluate its implementation. The research method used is a case study involving the parents of students and kindergarten teachers. The research results in a multimedia application designed to teach children the basics of Arabic through interactive learning modules that include introducing letters, words, and sentences in Arabic, accompanied by engaging images, sounds, and animations. The evaluation results of the application implementation show that this multimedia application successfully increased children's interest and understanding of the Arabic language. Teachers also gave positive feedback on this application and acknowledged that it effectively supports Arabic language learning in kindergarten. This research implies that multimedia applications can effectively introduce the Arabic language to young children and facilitate more enjoyable and interactive learning.Penggunaan teknologi multimedia dalam pendidikan anak usia dini semakin berkembang seiring dengan kemajuan teknologi informasi. Salah satu aspek yang penting untuk diperkenalkan kepada anak usia dini adalah bahasa Arab sebagai bahasa agama dan juga sebagai bahasa yang memiliki nilai sejarah dan budaya yang penting. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan aplikasi multimedia pengenalan bahasa Arab di Taman Kanak-Kanak Raudatul Atfhal (RA) dan mengevaluasi penerapannya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kasus dengan melibatkan Orang tua siswa dan guru-guru TK. Hasil penelitian berupa aplikasi multimedia yang dirancang untuk mengajarkan anak-anak dasar-dasar bahasa Arab melalui modul pembelajaran interaktif yang mencakup pengenalan huruf, kata, dan kalimat dalam bahasa Arab, disertai dengan gambar, suara, dan animasi yang menarik. Hasil evaluasi penerapan aplikasi menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi multimedia ini berhasil meningkatkan minat dan pemahaman anak-anak terhadap bahasa Arab. Guru-guru juga memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap aplikasi ini dan mengakui bahwa aplikasi ini efektif dalam mendukung pembelajaran bahasa Arab di TK. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa aplikasi multimedia dapat menjadi alat yang efektif dalam memperkenalkan bahasa Arab kepada anak usia dini dan memfasilitasi pembelajaran yang lebih menyenangkan dan interaktif.
