Abstract

 ABSTRACTEthnicity and cultural diversity of North Sumatra is the pride of the communities who contribute to the wealth of cultural heritage. Nowadays, a textile development has been successfully explored with a variety of ornaments and its philosophical values, and it has been brought into fashion trends. The North Sumatra ornamental motifs contribute to the world of fashion today. Fashion designers pay big attentions to the advance of the complexity of ethnic motifs in the development of the textile world. The study was conducted by the method of documentation, observation, and interpretation of meaning of the motifs. Verstehen method (understanding) is used to interpret the symbols of ornamental motifs containing the ideas of community. The result is an alternative of textile motif development of  North Sumatra-based on local patterns. With the richness of textile patterns raised from local ethnic of North Sumatra, make the fashion increasingly popular and in demand, and ultimately contributes to the development of the textile and fashion industry.Keywords : ornamental motifs, philosophical values, textile industry ABSTRAKKeanekaragaman suku dan  budaya Sumatra Utara merupakan kebanggaan masyarakatnya yang berkontribusi kepada kekayaan budaya Nusantara. Perkembangan tekstil dewasa ini berhasil mengeksplorasi aneka motif dan nilai filosofis ornamen tradisi dan mengangkatnya menjadi tren mode. Motif ornamen Sumatra Utara telah berkontribusi pada dunia mode saat ini. Perancang busana  melirik adanya suatu kekuatan corak etnis yang diangkat menjadi corak secara masif dalam perkembangan dunia tekstil. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode dokumentasi dan observasi, interpretasi atau pemaknaan, sekaligus melakukan penafsiran  terhadap data yang terkumpul. Metode verstehen (pemaaman) dilakukan terhadap motif-motif ornamen sebagai simbol yang mengandung ide-ide masyarakatnya. Hasil penelitian menjadi alternatif pengembangan motif tekstil Sumatra Utara yang berbasis corak lokal. Dengan semakin kayanya corak tekstil yang diangkat dari etnis lokal Sumatra Utara akan menjadikan dunia fesyen semakin digemari dan diminati, dan akhirnya berkontribusi terhadap perkembangan industri tekstil dan fashion.Kata kunci  :  Motif ornamen, nilai Filosofis, industri tekstil

Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) whether the learning outcomes of students taught with problem-based learning models using macromedia flash are better than students taught with direct learning models, 2) whether the learning outcomes of students who have high motivation are better than students who have low motivation,3)  is there an interaction between the two learning models with the level of motivation in influencing student learning outcomes. This research is a quasi experimental study. The population in this study were all grade VII students of MTs Lab. UINSU Medan Academic Year 2018/2019 which consists of three classes. Samples were selected by cluster random sampling of two classes. . The instrument used was a student learning motivation questionnaire and student learning outcomes test. Data obtained from the research instrument were then analyzed using two-way anova in the SPSS 14.0 for Windows program. The results showed that: Student learning outcomes taught by the problem-based learning model were better than students taught by the direct learning model (sig. = 0.027 <0.05), Student learning outcomes that were highly motivated were better than students who were motivated low (sig. = 0,000 <0.05), There is an interaction between the two learning models with the level of motivation in influencing student learning outcomes (sig. = 0.018 <0.05).

Abstract

This study discusses about feasibility of audiovisual media for literacy activities of students of grade V in public elementary school (SDN) 067241 in Medan. This study is conducted in the even semester of Academic Year 2018/2019. The timing of this research is carried out from March to April 2019. The subjects of this study are: (1) students of SDN 067241 Medan Denai class Va as the subject of field trials; and (2) two experts who each have criteria: material experts and media experts. The results shows that a media product of the Tema 4 learning video in the fifth class of Denai Medan. This learning video media product is feasible and valid to be used by Grade V students of SDN 067241 through assessment, revision, and validation from several experts.

Abstract

Batak megalitic sculpture is an artifact cultured material that is product activated by ancient Batak people. This sculpture is a symbol of supporters feeling, ideas and belieft. Aesthetic theory of Susanne K. Langer calls this art as a symbol of her own: expressed symbol, being symbol. Sculpture is presented symbol of creator’s feeling so it is called living form. Aesthetic Langer opened and formed the frame of Batak Megalitic sclupture’s philosophys comprehension. This sculpture is not only as visual form but living form of build elements contruction such as belieft, status, legitimited symbol, and self image. Batak Megalitic sclupture reality is an art. Symbol, its presentation is not the objective reality but subjective reality, symbolic form which is resulted is living form.

Abstract

Bentuk dan nilai-nilai yang dikandung dalam suatu budaya dan kesenian selalu dipertahankan masyarakat pendukungnya. Keterbukaan budaya menerima masuknya budaya asing setidaknya berdampak terhadap eksistensi budaya setempat. Masuknya Islam di Mandailing membawa perubahan bentuk visual motif ornamen pada rumah adatnya  dari bentuk mithologi dan zoomorf kepada bentuk simbol-simbol Islami dan motif geometris arabesk. Namun beberapa daerah masih tetap mempertahankan bentuk aslinya bahkan menghadirkannya berdampingan adalah semata-mata hanya menghadirkan nilai estetis yang dikandungnya. Mereka percaya bahwa kewibawaan suatu kontruksi bangunan  adalah motif hiasan yang mengandung makna menolak bala dan simbol keagungan. Kata kunci : bentuk visual, ornamen, bagas godang, mandailing

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan suatu kajian atau analisis ide dan gaya seniman wanita, dikaji apakah ide dan gaya lukisannya memiliki relevansi dengan sifat dan kepribadian wanita umumnya. Tujuan utama yang akan dicapai bagaimana sebenarnya wanita mengekspresikan emosinya lewat media lukisan. Data yang diperoleh dari data studi pustaka, dokumentasi, wawancara dan observasi selanjutnya dianalisis dengan dengan menggunakan metode Hermeneutik atau Interpretasi, Induksi-Deduksi dan Deskripsi. Hasil yang ditemukan adalah bahwa wanita dalam meluapkan emosinya cenderung dengan simbol-simbol atau mengungkapkan secara langsung dengan perantaraan makna-makna yang sungkan untuk diungkapkan yakni dalam bentuk warna dan gambar. Terbukti bahwa wanita pun memiliki konsep dan gaya yang sama dengan lukisan-lukisan pria baik dalam warna maupun objek lukisan. Kelembutan, keramahtamahan, lemah gemulai dan  sifat wanita yang terlanjur disebutkan sebagai sifatnya, ternyata dalam ide dan konsep karya malah sebaliknya. Kekerasan, pemberontakan dan ledakan-ledakan ternyata menjadi sifat wanita ketika berhadapan dengan kanvas.   Kata Kunci :  Seniman Wanita, Ide, Gaya

Abstract

Latar belakang dalam penelitian ini adalah orang –orang sudah lupa bahkan tidak mengerti lagi dengan makna yang terkandung pada setiap ornamentik pada Gotong dan Bulang serta kurangnya kepedulian masyarakat Simalungun dalam melestarikan makna simbol yang terdapat pada ornamentik tersebut.Penelitian ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengetahui fungsi dan makna simbol yang terdapat pada setiap ornamentik pada Gotong dan Bulang. Populasi yang diambil dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh ornamentik yang terdapat pada Gotong dan Bulang .adapun sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 4 ornamentik yang terdapat pada Gotong dan 2 ornamentik yang terdapat pada Bulang. Sampel diambil dengan teknik Purposive sample yaitu sampel yang disesuaikan  dengan kreteria perlengkapan  ornamnetik pada Gotong dan Bulang penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriftif kualitatif penulis mendeskripsikan hasil dari data-data lapangan mengetahui fungsi dan makna simbol dari ornamentik yang terdapat pada Gotong dan Bulang Simalungun. Adapun 4 ornamentik yang terdapat pada Gotong seperti Doramani, Rudang Hapias, Rante Gotong, Heper-heper dan pada Bulang terdapat 2 jenis yaitu Buah Ban-ban dan Sutting Hudung-hudung. Makna simbol yang terdapat pada setiap bagian ornamentik pada dasarnya menjunjung tinggi nilai-nilai budaya Simalungun seperti nilai-nilai kewibawa, dan nilai tanggung jawab yang memiliki makna serta aturan dalam penggunaannya.Kata Kunci :Ornametik, Gotong, Bulang, Fungsi, Simbol

Abstract

This study aims to analyze: (1) the influence of the Contextual Teaching and Learning Model is higher compared to the Direct learning model; (2) PPKn learning outcomes of students who have high social skills are higher than students who have low social skills (3) interactions between contextual teaching and learning models and social skills in influencing PPKn learning outcomes of grade 4 students. Research in the form of Quasi-Experimental Design with factorial 2x2. The instruments used are PPKn learning results test and Social Skills instrument. Data analysis using two-lane anava. The results showed: (1) There is an influence of Contextual Teaching and Learning Model on the learning outcomes of PPKn students in grade IV SD Negeri 101788 Marindal I; (2) PPKn learning outcomes of students who have high social skills are higher than students who have low social skills; (3) There is an interaction between contextual teaching and learning models and social skills towards the learning outcomes of PPKn Siswa at SD Negeri 101788 Marindal I.

Abstract

The problem in this study is that the teacher has not used illustrated story books in digital form for storytelling activities, so that children are less interested in listening to the stories conveyed by the teacher. This study aims to develop illustrated story books in digital form to improve children's language and cognitive abilities. This type of research is research and development (Research & Development). The ADDIE development model consists of five stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The subjects in this study were group B students at R.A. Ash-Sholihah which amounted to 20 people, 10 men and 10 women. Then this research was validated by 3 validators, namely material experts, media experts and early childhood education practitioners. Determination of the feasibility of picture story books in digital form is based on expert validation tests, while effectiveness is based on improving children's language and cognitive abilities before (pretest) and after (posttest) using the media. From the results of the assessment that has been carried out by validator experts, material experts obtained an average score of 82% in the very feasible category, media experts obtained an average score of 84% in the very appropriate category, early childhood experts on average obtained a score of 84% in the category very feasible, educational practitioners obtained by 98.18% very decent category. Then the results of the children's worksheets get a pretest average value of 11.2 while the posttest average value of 17.4 in improving children's language skills using picture story books in digital form. The results of the pretest with an average of 11.0 and posttest with an average of 17.1 experienced an increase in children's cognitive using picture story books in digital form, it can be said that the use of digital media is very effective to use. It is hoped that teachers will be more creative and innovative in making picture story books in digital form, therefore schools must prepare facilities and infrastructure that can support learning.
