Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Scaffolding method in improving learning outcomes on respecting parents in class 1 of MI Muhammadiyah Sidamulya, Kemranjen, Banyumas, Central Java. The Scaffolding method is applied by providing gradual guidance according to the level of students' understanding, so that they can understand the material more deeply. This study uses a qualitative and quantitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and learning outcome tests before and after the implementation of the Scaffolding method. The results showed that the Scaffolding method significantly improved students' understanding of the concept of respecting parents. Students became more active in the learning process, were able to internalize moral values, and showed more positive changes in attitudes in everyday life. The increase in the average value of learning outcomes after the implementation of this method showed the effectiveness of the learning strategy used. In addition to having an impact on academic results, the Scaffolding method also contributes to the formation of students' character. With gradual guidance and motivation from teachers, students become more confident in expressing opinions, interacting with peers, and implementing an attitude of respecting parents in their social lives. In conclusion, the Scaffolding method is an effective learning strategy to improve students' understanding and attitudes towards the material of respecting parents. Therefore, this method can be an alternative in learning Civic Education (PKN) in elementary schools to instill moral values more deeply.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the science process skills of fourth grade students in Natural Sciences (IPA) through the application of a project-based learning approach. Science process skills include observation, classification, data interpretation, designing experiments, and communicating research results. However, in practice, many students have difficulty in developing these skills due to learning methods that are still centered on the teacher and do not actively involve students in exploration and problem solving. This study uses a classroom action research (CAR) method consisting of two cycles. Each cycle includes the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of the study were 24 fourth grade students of MIM Tinggarjaya. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively to see the development of students' science process skills from each learning cycle. The results showed that the application of project-based learning was able to significantly improve students' science process skills. In the first cycle, students' process skills were still in the sufficient category with an average score of 65. However, after improvements and strengthening of learning strategies in the second cycle, the average score increased to 82, with more than 80% of students reaching the good to very good category. This improvement can be seen from the increasing ability of students to make observations, make hypotheses, conduct simple experiments, and present research results in the form of reports or presentations. The conclusion of this study is that the project-based learning approach can be an effective solution in improving students' science process skills. With project-based learning, students are more active, creative, and able to develop critical thinking skills and problem solving in a scientific context. Therefore, it is recommended for educators to integrate this approach into science learning in order to improve the quality of learning and student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to implement the Jarimatika method in Mathematics subjects in grade IV MI Ma'arif NU Bentul to improve student learning outcomes. Jarimatika is a finger-based calculation technique that helps students understand basic arithmetic operations faster and easier. This method is expected to improve students' understanding of Mathematics concepts and motivate them to learn more actively. The approach used in this study is quantitative with an experimental method. The subjects of the study consisted of two groups, namely the experimental group using the Jarimatika method and the control group using the conventional method. Data were collected through learning outcome tests before and after the implementation of the Jarimatika method, as well as through observation and interviews with teachers and students. The results showed that the implementation of the Jarimatika method significantly improved student learning outcomes compared to conventional methods. In addition, students who used this method were more motivated and showed a higher interest in learning Mathematics. Therefore, the Jarimatika method can be used as an effective learning alternative in improving Mathematics learning outcomes in elementary schools.
