Abstract

This study examines the sale of takjil (iftar snacks) by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) during Ramadan in Indonesia, emphasizing the integration of social, cultural, and religious values in business practices. Using a narrative review method, this research analyzes relevant literature to explore iftar snacks consumption patterns and marketing strategies adopted by MSMEs. Findings indicate that Ramadan is not only a spiritual occasion but also a time of increased social cohesion and economic opportunity. The tradition of iftar snacks stalls, embraced by both Muslims and non-Muslims, reflects local wisdom and a spirit of togetherness. Marketing strategies based on Fear of Missing Out (FOMO), scarcity, and word of mouth have proven effective, particularly through digital platforms. However, many MSMEs still struggle to understand consumer behavior and manage excess inventory. The study concludes that MSME success during Ramadan depends on their ability to present products attractively, build emotional connections with consumers, and implement marketing strategies that are responsive to cultural and social values.

Abstract

This study examines how nafs maturity influences the internalization of Islamic leadership values and its implications for work behavior and organizational performance. Previous leadership and human resource management studies, including Islamic perspectives, largely emphasize structural and managerial factors, yet provide limited explanation for variations in employees’ responses to identical leadership values. Employing an analytically oriented qualitative literature review, this study synthesizes findings from reputable national and international journals in Islamic psychology, leadership, and organizational behavior. Qualitative content analysis is applied using a comparative and interpretative approach, mapping empirical findings onto the nafs typology (ammarah, lawwāmah, and muṭma’innah). The findings reveal that nafs maturity determines the depth of leadership value internalization, shaping self-control, Islamic work ethic, emotional regulation, and behavioral consistency. Higher nafs maturity is associated with deep internalization and sustainable performance, while lower maturity tends to result in formal compliance and passive resistance. This study highlights nafs maturity as a foundational internal mechanism linking Islamic leadership, work behavior, and sustainable organizational performance

Abstract

Indonesia’s railway network faces increasing operational pressures as passenger and freight volumes continue to rise, revealing the limitations of reactive maintenance approaches and emphasizing the need for predictive, data driven safety mechanisms. This study aims to develop a conceptual framework for a data-driven predictive maintenance system to enhance railway safety, reliability, and operational efficiency in Indonesia. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted on international and national studies presents 25 key references published between 2016 and 2025 on early detection systems in railway, focusing on railway condition monitoring, IoT based maintenance, and AI driven safety analytics. The synthesized findings indicate that integrating IoT sensors, vibration monitoring, and hot box and hot axle detection systems supported by artificial intelligence and big data analytics can significantly improve early anomaly detection, predictive decision-making, and risk prevention. Nevertheless, several challenges remain, including limited technical capacity, fragmented regulations, and high implementation costs. The proposed data driven predictive maintenance framework positions early detection systems as strategic instruments for digital transformation in railway operations, strengthening risk management, promoting sustainable infrastructure, and aligning Indonesia’s railway governance with global standards for intelligent and resilient transportation systems.

Abstract

This study examines operational efficiency of Indonesian telecommunications firms by distinguishing digital and legacy services within a two-stage framework, addressing whether efficiency differences arise from managerial performance rather than firm size amid digital transformation. Audited annual reports of three major operators from 2014 to 2024 are analysed. The first stage applies output-oriented Data Envelopment Analysis under Variable Returns to Scale to measure technical efficiency in converting operational inputs into heterogeneous revenue outputs. The second stage employs panel regression estimated using weighted EGLS with Cross Section SUR to explain efficiency variations through firm-level profitability indicators. Results reveal pronounced heterogeneity across firms. PT Telkomsel consistently achieves the highest VRS efficiency, reflecting superior managerial control independent of scale advantages. Input slack analysis identifies operational expenditure as the primary source of inefficiency, whereas labour input remains near optimal utilization and total assets show structural rigidity. Second-stage estimation indicates that Return on Equity positively and significantly affects efficiency, while Net Profit Margin lacks a significant individual effect, though profitability indicators are jointly meaningful. Sustainable efficiency improvement depends on strategic resource allocation, effective equity utilization, and disciplined cost management rather than scale expansion. This study contributes by integrating digital and legacy outputs within a two-stage DEA framework and linking operational efficiency to financial performance, offering actionable insights for managers seeking to enhance firm-level performance during digital transformation.
