Abstract

This community service initiative comprises a webinar and a six-month mentorship program designed to equip Diploma in Pharmacy (D3) students with effective strategies for tackling the National Competency Examination (UKOM), a crucial component of the 2025 Exit Exam. Through interactive sessions, participants will gain in-depth insights into question structures, clinical case analysis approaches, and competency-based answering techniques aligned with the latest standards. The program also includes question simulations and comprehensive discussions to enhance participants' overall readiness. This webinar is expected to serve as a strategic platform for students to boost their confidence and competence in facing the UKOM, thereby supporting timely graduation and preparedness for entering the professional workforce.

Abstract

Usaha Kecil Obat Tradisional (UKOT) memiliki peran strategis dalam pengembangan produk berbasis kearifan lokal sekaligus mendukung perekonomian masyarakat. Namun, tantangan utama yang dihadapi UKOT, seperti kualitas bahan baku dan proses produksi yang kurang optimal, sering kali menghambat daya saing produk mereka. Artikel ini membahas kegiatan pelatihan pengolahan simplisia yang dilaksanakan di CV. Sangkuriang, Sidoarjo, sebagai salah satu upaya meningkatkan kualitas produk UKOT. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman mendalam tentang teknik pengolahan simplisia yang tepat, mulai dari pemilihan bahan baku, proses pencucian, pengeringan, hingga penyimpanan. Kegiatan pelatihan melibatkan peserta yang terdiri dari pengelola dan karyawan UKOT di CV. Sangkuriang. Metode yang digunakan mencakup sesi teori, praktik langsung, dan evaluasi hasil pelatihan. Dalam sesi teori, peserta diberikan wawasan tentang standar mutu simplisia berdasarkan regulasi yang berlaku. Sementara itu, praktik langsung difokuskan pada penerapan teknik pengolahan sesuai dengan standar kualitas yang telah ditetapkan. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta, yang terlihat dari kemampuan mereka dalam mengidentifikasi bahan baku berkualitas, menerapkan metode pengeringan yang efisien, serta menjaga kebersihan dan higienitas selama proses pengolahan. Pelatihan ini tidak hanya memberikan dampak langsung terhadap peningkatan kualitas simplisia, tetapi juga membuka peluang pengembangan produk yang lebih inovatif dan berdaya saing. Oleh karena itu, program serupa diharapkan dapat dilaksanakan secara berkesinambungan dan diperluas ke UKOT lainnya. Dengan demikian, pelatihan pengolahan simplisia dapat menjadi solusi strategis untuk meningkatkan kapasitas UKOT sekaligus memperkuat industri obat tradisional berbasis lokal di Indonesia.

Abstract

Introduction: Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease that remains a public health problem in Indonesia, including in Lamongan Regency. The role of community pharmacy worker (pharmacists and pharmacy technicians), is crucial in early detection, treatment monitoring, and TB patient education. This study aims to determine the level of knowledge, attitudes, and practices of community pharmacy workers regarding TB management. Methods: This study used a descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach, conducted from January to May 2025. The sampling technique used simple random sampling, with 75 respondents from pharmacy worker in Lamongan. Data were collected using a KAP questionnaire adapted from previous studies and tested for validity and reliability. Results: Knowledge research shows that of the total 75 respondents, as many as 72 people (96%) are in the good knowledge category, while only 1 person (1.3%) has sufficient knowledge, and 2 people (2.6%) are included in the poor knowledge category, most respondents have a good level of knowledge about TB. In the results of the attitude study, the level of knowledge is good (54.6%), respondents with a sufficient level of attitude are 29.3%, and 16% are in the poor category. And the results of practice (100%) have a good level of knowledge in the practice of detection, drug monitoring, and education of TB patients. Factors that influence include educational background, work experience, and training related to TB. Conclusion: While pharmacists’ knowledge and practice are high, sustained and continuous training is crucial to maintain performance and reinforce their contribution to TB control
