Abstract

In the digital information age, the spread of misinformation or hoaxes is a serious challenge for society. The Anti-Defamation, Hoax, and Intolerance Community Organization (Mafindo) in Samarinda has become a facilitator in efforts to prevent and overcome the spread of hoaxes. This study aims to analyze communication management applied by Mafindo Samarinda as an anti-hoax facilitator. The research method used is a case study with a qualitative approach. Data was obtained through interviews with Mafindo Samarinda members, observations of activities carried out, and analysis of documents related to anti-hoax campaigns that have been run by this organization. The results showed that Mafindo Samarinda implemented a well-planned communication management strategy. They use various communication channels, such as social media, seminars, and workshops, to disseminate correct information and educate the public on how to identify hoaxes. In addition, Mafindo Samarinda also collaborates with various parties, including the government and educational institutions, in a joint effort to fight the spread of hoaxes. Nevertheless, the challenges faced by Mafindo Samarinda are not small. An active role from all levels of society is needed to ensure the success of this anti-hoax program. Therefore, effective communication management needs to be continuously developed and adapted to technological developments and community dynamics.

Abstract

Abstrak Nasyiatul Aisyiyah (NA) sebagai ormas berperan penting dalam mendukung kehidupan bernegara. Karena itu NA perlu melakukan manajemen yang lebih baik dan rapi dalam mekanisme pelaporannya. Sayangnya, laporan-laporan kegiatan di NA masih berbentuk tumpukan kertas yang tidak terbaca oleh masyarakat. Padahal, laporan tersebut bisa menjadi satu sumbangsih keilmuan NA. Karena itu, Pimpinan Wilayah (PW) NA mengajak Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) supaya laporan-laporan kegiatannya lebih bermanfaat bagi masyarakat. Dengan skema pengabdian kepada masyarakat, UAD berkolaborasi dengan PWNA untuk memberikan wawasan dan pelatihan penggunaan mekanisme manajemen pelaporan dalam organisasi berbasis penulisan jurnal ilmiah. Peserta pelatihan adalah PWNA DI Yogyakarta dan perwakilan Pimpinan Daerah (PD) NA Yogyakarta, Sleman, Bantul, Gunungkidul, dan Kulonprogo. Topiknya adalah manajemen organisasi dan pengenalan publikasi ilmiah di jurnal akademik. Selain itu, ada pula pendampingan pembuatan tulisan ilmiah berdasarkan laporan kegiatan dalam organisasi. Karena masih masa pandemi Covid-19, pelatihan dilaksanakan secara blended method; luring dan daring, secara synchronous dan asynchronous learning. Alatnya adalah pendukung virtual class seperti Google Classroom, Zoom Meeting, maupun YouTube Streaming. Kegiatan ini dipublikasikan di jurnal pengabdian masyarakat atau prosiding seminar nasional. Kata kunci: manajemen organisasi; pelaporan kegiatan; publikasi ilmiah Abstract Nasyiatul Aisyiyah (NA) as an NPO plays an important role in the community system. Therefore, NA needs to conduct better and neater management including its reporting mechanisms. Currently, activity reports at NA are still in the piles of paper. They are unreadable publicly. Whereas they could be one of NA's contributions. Therefore, the Provincial Board of NA in Special Region of Yogyakarta (PWNA DIY) took the initiative to invite Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD) so that reports on its activities would have greater benefits for the community. With a community service program, UAD collaborates with PWNA to provide insight and training on the utilization of reporting management mechanisms in organizations based on scientific journal writing. The training participants were PWNA DIY and representatives of the Regency Board of NA (PDNA) from Yogyakarta, Sleman, Bantul, Gunungkidul and Kulonprogo. The topics were organizational management and the introduction of scientific publications in academic journals. There is also assistance in scientific writing based on organization’s activity reports. The training has been carried out in the blended method; offline and online, both synchronously and asynchronously due to Covid-19. It used Google Classroom, Zoom, and YouTube. This activity is also published in academic journals or seminar proceedings. Keywords: organizational management; activities reporting; scientific publication
