Abstract

Social interaction between Muslims and non-Muslims and vice versa does not always go smoothly and harmoniously. Religious conflicts continue to occur that are contrary to the values and principles of religious teachings. This article studies the harmony of non-Muslim life alongside Islamic rules in Sungai Penuh City, Jambi Province. This article aims to understand the social interaction pattern between Muslim and non-Muslim communities in Sungai Penuh City, Jambi Province. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach, and data was collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and analysis from several other supporting journals. The study results show that social interaction between Muslims and non-Muslims is manifested in an attitude of mutual respect and respect for each other's beliefs and culture so that they can live together amid the struggle of multi-religious life. Social interaction of the community in religious harmony is a form of socialization that creates tolerance, namely mutual understanding, respect, and respect without discrimination, especially in religious matters.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of integrating Qur’anic values with science in waste management on students’ environmental awareness and pro-environmental behavior among ninth-grade students at MTsN 1 Merangin. The research addresses the limited empirical evidence linking religious values and scientific learning in shaping ecological behavior. A quantitative field research approach was applied. Data were collected from 40 respondents using questionnaires and analyzed through Partial Least Square (PLS) with SmartPLS. The findings reveal that the integration of Qur’anic values and science significantly and positively affects environmental awareness and behavior (β = 0.987; p < 0.05). It also shows a significant contribution to waste management practices (β = 0.967; p < 0.05). The high coefficient of determination (R-square = 0.974 and 0.935) indicates strong explanatory power of the model. These results confirm that combining religious and scientific perspectives is effective in fostering responsible environmental attitudes and practices among students. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji pengaruh pengintegrasian nilai-nilai Al-Qur’an dengan sains dalam konteks pengelolaan sampah terhadap pembentukan kesadaran dan perilaku peduli lingkungan peserta didik kelas IX MTsN 1 Merangin. Studi ini dilandasi oleh keterbatasan kajian empiris yang mengaitkan nilai religius dan sains dalam pembentukan perilaku ekologis siswa. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian lapangan. Data diperoleh melalui penyebaran angket kepada 40 responden, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik Partial Least Square (PLS) dengan bantuan SmartPLS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi nilai Al-Qur’an dan sains memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kesadaran serta perilaku peduli lingkungan (β = 0,987; p < 0,05). Selain itu, variabel tersebut juga berkontribusi signifikan terhadap praktik pengelolaan sampah (β = 0,967; p < 0,05). Nilai koefisien determinasi yang tinggi (R-square = 0,974 dan 0,935) mengindikasikan bahwa model mampu menjelaskan hubungan antar variabel secara kuat. Dengan demikian, penggabungan nilai religius dan sains dalam pembelajaran terbukti efektif dalam membentuk sikap dan perilaku lingkungan yang lebih bertanggung jawab pada peserta didik.
