Abstract

Problem solving abilities have a significant role in increasing students' cognitive capacity, however, there are still difficulties in developing these skills. This research aims to assess the influence of the Problem Based Learning Model on students' problem solving abilities. This research is a quasi-experimental quantitative type with a pretest-posttest control group design. Fourth semester students in classes C and D of the PGSD Study Program were taken as samples using the Purposive Sampling technique. Data was collected through a research instrument in the form of a problem solving ability test in the Elementary School Science Learning Materials course. The results of hypothesis analysis using the Mann-Whitney test show the Asymp value. Sig. (2-tailed) is 0.000, which is smaller than 0.005. Therefore, it can be concluded that Hypothesis is Accepted. This means that there are differences between the experimental class which uses the PBL model and the control class with conventional learning. Thus, it can be concluded that the PBL model has an influence on the problem solving abilities of PGSD students.

Abstract

This research aims to 1) produce PBL-Based E-Modules with a STEM approach that meets the eligibility criteria, and 2) determine the effectiveness of PBL-Based E-Modules with the resulting STEM approach to increase the learning motivation of grade VI students of SD Sekecamatan Piyungan. This research is Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Product feasibility tests are carried out by media expert validators and material expert validators. The subjects of the one-to-one trial were three students and 1 teacher at SD Muhammadiyah Karangploso. The subjects of the small group trial were 23 students of SD Negeri Piyungan Class A. The subjects of the field trial were 25 students of SD Negeri Piyungan class B as the control class and 27 students of SD Negeri Mandungan as the experimental class. Data collection using interview guidelines, observation guidelines, product assessment sheets, teacher response scales and student response scales, and learning motivation scales of grade VI elementary school students were analyzed using a t-test. The results of the study showed that: (1) The PBL-based e-module with the resulting STEM approach met the criteria of "Very Feasible" according to the assessment of media experts and subject matter experts, in the one to one trial obtained the category of "Very Feasible" from the responses given by the teacher and obtained the category of "Feasible" from the students' responses, while in the small group trial obtained the category of "Very Feasible" from the responses given by the teacher and obtained the category of "Feasible" from the responses of the students; (2) PBL-based E-Module with a STEM approach in significantly increasing the learning motivation of grade VI elementary school students with a significant score of 0.000 < 0.05

Abstract

Literasi lingkungan merupakan kompetensi penting dalam pendidikan berkelanjutan yang perlu ditanamkan sejak usia dini. Salah satu permasalahan utama dalam konteks sekolah dasar adalah rendahnya pemahaman dan praktik siswa dalam memilah sampah organik dan non organik, meskipun fasilitas pendukung telah tersedia. Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi lingkungan siswa Sekolah Dasar melalui program edukasi sampah organik dan non organik di SDN 1 Titiwangi. Metode pelaksanaan PKM menggunakan pendekatan edukatif partisipatif berbasis pengalaman (experiential learning) yang meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui penyampaian materi interaktif, praktik langsung pemilahan sampah, simulasi, serta refleksi bersama siswa. Evaluasi dilakukan secara kualitatif melalui observasi perilaku, wawancara singkat dengan guru, dan post-test deskriptif untuk mendukung temuan lapangan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman konseptual siswa mengenai perbedaan sampah organik dan non organik, berkembangnya sikap peduli lingkungan, serta peningkatan konsistensi praktik pemilahan sampah di lingkungan sekolah. Sebagian besar siswa mencapai kategori baik hingga sangat baik dalam post-test pemahaman. Program ini membuktikan bahwa edukasi sampah yang kontekstual dan partisipatif efektif dalam mengembangkan literasi lingkungan siswa sekolah dasar. Kegiatan PKM ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model edukasi lingkungan berkelanjutan di sekolah dasar.
