Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of cooperative learning model type think pair share in improving student learning outcomes on reflection material in class XI OTKP 4 SMK Negeri 2 Palu. The research method used is class action research (PTK). This research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings. This research design refers to the research design of Kemmis and Mc. Taggart's research design, namely (1) planning, (2) action implementation and observation and (3) reflection. Data analysis in this study used a qualitative approach. The data analysis used refers to Paizaluddin and Ermalinda (2013) who say that the analysis of data obtained in class action research is generally analyzed through qualitative descriptive. The data collection methods in this study include observation, interviews and field notes. The results showed that student learning outcomes could be improved by applying the cooperative learning model of think pair share (TPS) type in class XI OTKP 4 SMKN 2 PALU. This can be seen after applying the think pair share (TPS) learning model, in the first cycle the student learning outcomes that reached completeness were only 51.85%. Then in the second cycle the student learning outcomes that reached completeness were 76.67%. so it can be concluded that the application of the cooperative learning model type think pair share (TPS) can improve student learning outcomes on reflection material in class XI OTKP 4 SMK Negeri 2 Palu.

Abstract

Banana Chip Innovations and Education on Banana Peel Waste Utilization as Efforts to Strengthen SDG-Based Community Capacity in Anggaloosi Village, Ladongi District, East Kolaka Regency Abstract This community service activity was motivated by the potential of bananas as a local produce in Anggaloosi Village, Ladongi District, East Kolaka Regency, which are generally sold directly and have not been widely developed into processed products with variations. This activity aimed to strengthen community capacity through the innovation of processing bananas into chips with chocolate and palm sugar flavor variants, as well as providing education on the potential use of banana peel waste as organic fertilizer material. The activity was conducted in one day and involved 35 participants, consisting of 10 village officials and 25 community members. The implementation methods included counseling, demonstrations, direct practice, and mentoring. Evaluation was carried out through observation, documentation, attendance sheets, and simple evaluation sheets with indicators covering knowledge of chip processing, practical skills, knowledge regarding the use of banana peels, interest in product development as a business opportunity, and awareness of organic waste management. The evaluation results showed changes in several indicators following the activity. Knowledge regarding chip processing increased from 18 participants (51.4%) who already knew prior to the activity to 35 participants (100%) after the activity. Interest in developing the product as a business opportunity increased from 15 participants (42.9%) to 30 participants (85.7%), while awareness of organic waste management increased from 25 participants (71.4%) to 35 participants (100%). In the skills aspect, all participants engaged in the practical making of chips with the introduced flavor variants. Knowledge regarding the use of banana peels as organic fertilizer material also increased from 30 participants (85.7%) to 35 participants (100%). However, the utilization of banana peels in this activity was still limited to the educational stage and did not yet include the practical production of organic fertilizer. Thus, the activity demonstrated a strengthening of community capacity in terms of knowledge, practical product processing experience, business development interest, and waste management awareness, while the economic impact and success of organic fertilizer production require further assistance and evaluation.
