Abstract

This analytical descriptive study discusses the role of social workers in social services for People with Mental Disorders (Orang Dengan Gangguan Jiwa/ODGJ) at the Bina Laras Harapan Sentosa 3 Panti Sosial, Ciracas, East Jakarta. Problems with ODGJ include clients who rarely worship, are less interested in participating in skill activities, appear often daydreaming, aloof, anxious and sad, are less productive in participating in skill activities, and have difficulty in reading, writing and arithmetic. The role of social workers in providing services to ODGJ includes (1) as a counselor (2) as an educator/educator (3) as a motivator (4) as a problem solver/problem solver (5) as a broker (6) as a therapist and (7) as a facilitator. The results of the implementation of the role of social workers show that: (1) the client has been seen starting to pray and participate in routine recitation activities (2) the client has started to often participate in activities in the orphanage (3) the client is more cheerful and rarely daydreams anymore because diverted to more positive activities (4) the client has begun to concentrate more on following salon skills and is trying to pursue it so that he can see skills in doing special hair care (5) the client seems to have started to be able to read, write and count well. Researchers suggest Panti Sosial Bina Laras Harapan Sentosa 3, in order to be able to provide skills for People with Mental Disorders so that they have more choices for skills that are followed and increase the profession of social workers in the field of handling mental disorders.

Abstract

This writing discusses the role of social workers in overcoming the problems of school dropouts at the Taruna Jaya Youth Development Institution 1. This research is descriptive-analytical, with the aim of obtaining an overview of the role of social workers in overcoming the problems of school dropouts. In this writing, the author determines three cases that have been determined purposively. The case was taken from 3 cases that had been handled at the Taruna Jaya 1 Youth Development Institution. The problems of teenagers dropping out of school at the orphanage are: Lack of love from parents; the client's lack of spiritual level; clients dropping out of SMK class 2; ex-street child/punk clients who are used to consuming illegal drugs and drinking and smoking; clients drop out of school because of the economic factors of their parents; the client does not have a job; clients rarely carry out Worship. The roles performed are the role of broker, counselor, mediator, motivator, educator, and facilitator. The result is that the client's family (grandmother) is happy to receive news about the existence of EP, the client has been actively participating in the obligatory congregational prayers and learning the Koran, the client is already on the list of pursuing package C, the client is willing to undergo outpatient treatment from the DKI Jakarta BNN and stop consuming drugs and cigarettes, clients are enthusiastic about participating in activities at the orphanage, clients are diligent in entering skills classes majoring in refrigeration AC, clients are ready to take part in the PBK program (work-learning practice).

Abstract

This study highlights the social problems experienced by post-divorce mothers, and finds out the role of social workers in providing social interventions to divorced mothers. The method used is qualitative which is descriptive analytical. The determination of cases uses purposive sampling by assigning 3 cases. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The results of the study show that: 1) the problems experienced by divorced mothers include economic difficulties, childcare, mental health, conflicts with ex-husbands, conflicts with parents and extended family, lack of confidence because they have been seduced, and lack of motivation. The role of social workers in handling the problem of divorced mothers in the RW 010 area, North Sukabumi sub-district includes: carrying out home visits, providing motivation, providing assistance and education with family members where the client lives. After getting the intervention, the client is excited to continue living and returning to work; conflicts with the family have decreased; become more attentive to children and start socializing with neighbors. As for the suggestion, for the RW 010 area to pay more attention to divorced mothers being involved in community activities. Clients who divorced mothers are more active and productive and eager to continue their lives and maintain good relationships with their children, family, and the surrounding environment. Because a good healthy environment can help restore mental health.

Abstract

This study discusses the role of social workers in handling maladaptive behavior in children at PSAA Putra Utama 2 North Jakarta" This research is descriptive analysis. The objectives are (1) to find out the problem of maladaptive behavior of children in social institutions; (2) to determine the role of social workers in dealing with maladaptive behavior of children in social institutions; (3) to find out the results of the implementation of the role of social workers in dealing with maladaptive behavior of children in social institutions. Maladaptive behavior is bad behavior displayed by someone that is not in accordance with the environment or what is desired by the community where the person lives. This can happen because of a person's inability to interpret something that happens to him. Through this research, it is hoped that it can contribute ideas in enriching the concept of social work practice, especially regarding social work interventions in dealing with children's maladaptive behavior and can contribute ideas to solving problems related to children's maladaptive behavior.
