Abstract

The hadith on pursuing the path of knowledge serves as a profound theological and philosophical foundation for the development of Islamic education and the formation of civilization. This study aims to analyze the meaning and relevance of this hadith within the context of prophetic education an educational model that integrates faith, knowledge, and action. The research employs a qualitative library study approach, examining classical and contemporary sources related to Islamic education and prophetic values. The findings reveal that the Hadith positions the pursuit of knowledge as a form of worship with spiritual and social dimensions, functioning as a transformative process toward achieving the ideal human (insan kamil). Prophetic values such as sincerity, perseverance, humility, and moral responsibility serve as the ethical basis for a civilized Islamic education system. Therefore, the hadith on pursuing the path of knowledge is relevant as a paradigm for modern Islamic education that goes beyond knowledge transmission to emphasize character formation and communal well-being. The study recommends further exploration of how prophetic values can be applied in contemporary Islamic educational curricula.

Abstract

The Islamization of science has become an important issue in efforts to integrate science with the values contained in the Qur'an. This study focuses on the thinking of Fazlur Rahman, who proposed a normative and applicative approach through the double movement method. This study used a library research method with an epistemological approach. The results of the study show that Fazlur Rahman emphasizes the importance of moral responsibility in the development of science so that it does not become a disaster for humanity. According to Fazlur Rahman, the Islamization of science is not merely a matter of labeling science as “Islamic,” but rather a process of epistemological reconstruction based on rationality, ethics, and context. This concept aims to avoid dogmatization and secularization in science. However, Fazlur Rahman wants to make Islam the answer to various social, political, economic, and cultural problems that occur in the modern era.

Abstract

This study examines Islamic education in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia from historical and contemporary perspectives. Using library research with a qualitative descriptive-comparative approach, data were collected from academic journals, books, and policy documents published between 2020 and 2024. Content analysis and cross-regional comparison were employed to identify educational orientation, curriculum structure, sociopolitical context, and contemporary challenges. The findings show that Islamic education is dynamic and adaptive, shaped by diverse historical and sociocultural contexts. In Europe, Islamic education has shifted from the intellectual legacy of Andalusia to a minority-based system emphasizing identity and social integration. In the Middle East, it balances classical traditions with modern reforms amid ideological and political dynamics. In Asia, Islamic education demonstrates contextual adaptation through integration with local culture, national education systems, and digital technology. Major challenges include digital transformation, educational inequality, ideological tensions, and curriculum reform.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concepts and ideas of humanistic theory, examine humanistic theory in learning, and analyze its implementation in Islamic Religious Education learning. The study employed a qualitative approach using library research. Data were collected through documentation studies from various primary and secondary sources related to humanistic theory and Islamic Religious Education learning. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis techniques through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that humanistic theory is an approach that views humans as individuals who possess potential, freedom, self-awareness, and the ability to develop optimally through meaningful learning experiences. The ideas of humanistic figures such as Abraham Maslow, Carl Rogers, Rollo May, Arthur Combs, Malcolm Knowles, Benjamin Bloom, and David R. Krathwohl emphasize the importance of holistic human development encompassing cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. In learning, humanistic theory positions students as the center of the educational process through dialogical, contextual, and self-development-oriented learning. The implementation of humanistic theory in Islamic Religious Education learning is relevant to the goals of Islamic education because it is not only oriented toward knowledge transfer but also toward character building, spiritual awareness, and the internalization of religious values in students’ daily lives. Therefore, the humanistic approach can serve as a foundation for creating Islamic Religious Education learning that is more humane, meaningful, and oriented toward the holistic development of students.
