Abstract

This article is a literature review that discusses the role of value-based Civic Education in fostering social responsibility, focusing on theoretical foundations, teaching strategies, the role of teachers and curriculum, implementation challenges, and policy implications. The method used is a literature review, by analyzing relevant journal articles, books, and previous studies. The findings show that value-based Civic Education significantly influences the formation of students’ character to be religious, honest, caring, democratic, and socially aware. Effective teaching strategies include project-based learning, service learning, and civic engagement, which encourage students’ real involvement in society. However, implementation still faces challenges such as limited teacher training, exam oriented evaluation, resource inequality, and the influence of digital media. Therefore, strengthening action-based curricula, providing pedagogical training for teachers, building school-community partnerships, and developing authentic assessment instruments are required to achieve the objectives of Civic Education.

Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve the learning motivation of Grade XI students at SMK Negeri 7 in South Tangerang in Pancasila Education lessons by using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) method. The background of the problem shows that there is low learning motivation among students, which has an impact on learning outcomes that have not been optimal. This research was conducted in two cycles, involving 36 Grade XI students. Data were obtained through observations of teacher and student activities and learning outcome tests. The research findings show a significant increase from Cycle I to Cycle II. In Cycle I, the average learning outcome score was 79.86, while in Cycle II it increased to 90.13. In addition, improvements were also seen in non-academic aspects, where students showed greater enthusiasm in participating in the learning process, were active in solving problems in case studies, and were able to convey creative ideas. These improvements indicate that the application of the Problem-Based Learning model was successful in increasing student interest and learning outcomes in Civics Education in Grade XI at SMK Negeri 7 Tangerang Selatan.ABSTRAKPenelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa Kelas XI SMK Negeri 7 di Tangerang Selatan dalam pelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila dengan menggunakan metode pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL). Latar belakang permasalahan menunjukkan adanya rendahnya motivasi belajar siswa yang berdampak pada hasil belajar yang belum mencapai optimal. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, dengan melibatkan 36 siswa Kelas XI. Data diperoleh melalui pengamatan terhadap aktivitas guru dan siswa serta tes hasil belajar. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan dari Siklus I ke Siklus II. Pada Siklus I, rata-rata nilai hasil belajar siswa tercatat sebesar 79,86, sementara pada Siklus II meningkat menjadi 90,13. Selain itu, peningkatan juga terlihat pada aspek non-akademik, di mana siswa menunjukkan semangat yang lebih besar dalam mengikuti proses belajar, aktif dalam memecahkan masalah pada studi kasus, dan mampu menyampaikan ide-ide kreatif. Peningkatan ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning berhasil dalam meningkatkan minat dan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran PPKn di Kelas XI SMK Negeri 7 Tangerang Selatan.
