Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of the inquiry method in teaching Maharah Qiro’ah for beginner-level (mubtadi’) students and to explore its implications for educational management in course institutions. The study employed a qualitative approach using a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design at Lembaga Insan Kamil Probolinggo. Primary data sources included students and teachers, collected through observations, interviews, and learning documentation. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s techniques, including data reduction, presentation, and verification. The findings indicate that implementing the inquiry method significantly enhances students’ Maharah Qiro’ah skills, promoting more fluent and accurate Arabic reading and deeper comprehension of the text. Moreover, the method fosters students’ critical and analytical thinking in line with their cognitive development stages. From an educational management perspective, the inquiry method encourages active learning environments, improves teaching effectiveness, and provides a structured approach for monitoring and evaluating student progress. Therefore, the inquiry method not only serves as an effective instructional strategy for Maharah Qiro’ah but also contributes to the improvement of educational quality and management practices in course institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept, objectives, legal foundations, characteristics, and implementation of School-Based Management (SBM) as a strategy for improving educational quality in the era of decentralization. The research employed a qualitative approach using a library research design. Data were collected from books, peer-reviewed journal articles, policy documents, and relevant educational regulations, and analyzed through descriptive-analytical content analysis. The findings indicate that the successful implementation of SBM is strongly influenced by a paradigm shift in school management, democratic leadership of school principals, active involvement of school committees and the community, and systematic school planning through the School Development Plan. SBM is not merely an administrative policy but a comprehensive managerial approach that promotes school autonomy and supports continuous improvement in educational quality. The implications of this study suggest that consistent and context-sensitive implementation of SBM is essential for strengthening effective school governance and achieving sustainable educational quality improvement, particularly within decentralized education systems

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects of achievement motivation and communication intelligence on school management effectiveness, both partially and simultaneously. A quantitative approach with a causal survey design was employed. The population consisted of all public senior high school teachers in Jambi City, Indonesia, with a sample of 55 teachers selected using probability sampling techniques. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including multiple regression analysis and F-tests, with SPSS version 25. The findings indicate that achievement motivation has a positive and significant effect on school management effectiveness. Similarly, communication intelligence also shows a positive and significant effect on school management effectiveness. Furthermore, achievement motivation and communication intelligence simultaneously exert a highly significant influence on school management effectiveness. These results suggest that enhancing school management effectiveness requires strengthening teachers’ achievement motivation alongside the systematic development of communication intelligence. Such efforts are essential to support more effective, transparent, and accountable school management practices.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze a local wisdom–based educational management model at SDN 96/X Rantau Indah and its effectiveness in enhancing student engagement, motivation, and knowledge construction. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis, and analyzed using interactive techniques involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the integration of local cultural values is implemented through three main pillars: curricular integration, co-curricular activities, and school culture, which collectively foster meaningful and contextually relevant learning practices. Local wisdom serves as cognitive scaffolding, enabling students to actively construct knowledge by connecting academic concepts with cultural experiences. Teachers’ roles transform into facilitators and cultural mediators linking the national curriculum with local values, while collaborative social interactions reinforce knowledge construction. The model is effective in improving students’ motivation and academic understanding. However, challenges include uneven teacher competencies, limited time to align national and local curricula, and sustainability of community involvement. Strengthening educational management, teacher professional development, and formal partnerships between schools and local communities are essential to sustain local wisdom integration.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan media gambar terhadap penguasaan mufradat Bahasa Arab siswa di MI Al-Fajar Tanjung Jabung Timur. Permasalahan utama dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Arab di tingkat madrasah ibtidaiyah adalah rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam memahami dan mengingat kosakata (mufradat), yang disebabkan oleh metode pembelajaran yang masih bersifat konvensional dan kurang menarik. Media gambar dipilih sebagai salah satu alternatif pembelajaran karena mampu memberikan stimulasi visual yang memudahkan siswa memahami makna kosakata secara konkret. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain quasi experiment melalui model pretest-posttest control group design. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 50 siswa kelas V yang dibagi menjadi kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, observasi, dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Analisis data dilakukan melalui uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis menggunakan uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai posttest kelas eksperimen sebesar 84,2 lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol sebesar 72,5. Nilai signifikansi uji-t sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 menunjukkan bahwa media gambar berpengaruh signifikan terhadap penguasaan mufradat Bahasa Arab siswa. Novelty penelitian ini terletak pada penggunaan media gambar berbasis konteks lokal lingkungan siswa pedesaan yang lebih dekat dengan pengalaman keseharian mereka. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penggunaan media visual kontekstual sebagai strategi pembelajaran Bahasa Arab di tingkat dasar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi pembelajaran aktif dalam pelajaran Bahasa Arab di MTs Al-Huda Dendang serta pengaruhnya terhadap keterlibatan belajar siswa. Permasalahan utama dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Arab di madrasah adalah dominannya metode ceramah yang menyebabkan rendahnya partisipasi siswa, minimnya keberanian berbicara, dan kurangnya minat terhadap pembelajaran Bahasa Arab. Pembelajaran aktif menjadi salah satu solusi strategis karena menempatkan siswa sebagai subjek utama dalam proses belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan mixed method dengan dominasi kuantitatif melalui desain explanatory sequential. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 58 siswa kelas VIII serta 2 guru Bahasa Arab. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, angket, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan tes hasil belajar. Analisis data dilakukan melalui statistik deskriptif, uji regresi sederhana, dan analisis kualitatif interaktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi pembelajaran aktif melalui diskusi kelompok, role play, tanya jawab interaktif, dan presentasi sederhana memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap keterlibatan belajar siswa. Nilai rata-rata partisipasi belajar siswa meningkat dari 62,4 menjadi 83,1. Hasil uji regresi menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 yang berarti pembelajaran aktif berpengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan keterlibatan belajar siswa. Novelty penelitian ini terletak pada integrasi pembelajaran aktif berbasis konteks sosial madrasah pedesaan yang disesuaikan dengan karakter siswa lokal. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penerapan strategi active learning secara sistematis dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Arab tingkat MTs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of digital media in Arabic language learning at MTs Raudhatul Hasanah Tanjung Jabung Timur and its influence on student motivation and learning outcomes. The development of educational technology requires teachers to be able to utilize digital media as an effective, interactive, and appropriate learning tool in accordance with the characteristics of the digital generation. However, in practice, Arabic learning in madrassas is still dominated by conventional methods that cause low student motivation to learn. This study uses a mixed method approach with a sequential explanatory design. The research sample consisted of 56 grade VIII students and 2 Arabic teachers. Data collection techniques use observation, learning motivation questionnaires, interviews, documentation, and learning outcome tests. Data analysis was carried out through descriptive statistics, simple regression tests, and interactive qualitative analysis. The results show that the use of digital media such as interactive PowerPoint, learning videos, application-based quizzes, and online learning platforms has a positive influence on student motivation and learning outcomes. The average value of learning motivation increased from 65.2 to 84.6, while the average learning outcome increased from 68.4 to 86.1. The results of the regression test showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 which means that digital media has a significant effect on Arabic language learning. The novelty of this research lies in the use of digital media based on the context of rural madrasas with limited facilities but still effective through a simple and adaptive approach. This study recommends strengthening teachers' digital literacy to improve the quality of Arabic learning in madrasas.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the muhadatsah method in improving students' speaking skills (maharah kalam) in Arabic learning at MTs Al-Ishlah Tanjung Jabung Timur. The background of this study is based on the low Arabic speaking ability of students caused by the dominance of conventional learning methods oriented toward grammar memorization and translation. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest control group design. The population consisted of all eighth-grade students of MTs Al-Ishlah, with a sample of 60 students divided into experimental and control classes. Data collection techniques included oral tests, observation, documentation, and supporting interviews. Data analysis was conducted through normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing using the t-test. The results showed that the average posttest score of the experimental class was 82.4, higher than the control class score of 71.6. The t-test result showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that the muhadatsah method significantly affected students' speaking skill improvement. The novelty of this study lies in the implementation of context-based muhadatsah using students' daily life situations in rural madrasah settings, which has not been widely discussed in previous studies. This study recommends the systematic use of the muhadatsah method in Arabic language learning at the junior Islamic school level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the problems of basic nahwu learning in students of MTs Al-Irsyad Tanjung Jabung Timur and the efforts of teachers in overcoming them. Nahwu as one of the important branches of learning Arabic is often considered a difficult, abstract, and boring material by students. These difficulties have an impact on the low understanding of Arabic sentence structure and weak ability to read Arabic texts. This study uses a mixed method approach with qualitative dominance through a sequential exploratory design. The research subjects consisted of 2 Arabic teachers, 1 madrasah head, and 48 grade VIII students. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews, learning difficulty questionnaires, documentation, and diagnostic tests. Data analysis is carried out through data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawn, and quantitative descriptive statistical strengthening. The results of the study show that the main problems of basic nahwu learning include low mastery of mufradat, weak understanding of the concept of i'rab, learning methods that are still teacher-centered, lack of learning media, and low student learning motivation. The average score of students' understanding of nahwu only reached 61.8 from the minimum completeness standard of 75. The novelty of this research lies in the analysis of basic nahwu problems based on the context of rural madrasas with limited learning resources and solution approaches through the integration of contextual examples of student life. This study recommends the application of nahwu learning that is more communicative, simple, and contextual so that students can more easily understand the structure of the Arabic language.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze teachers’ strategies in improving students’ interest in learning Arabic at MI Nurul Hidayah Tanjung Jabung Timur. Low student interest in Arabic lessons is one of the main obstacles in achieving learning objectives. Students often perceive Arabic as a difficult, boring subject full of memorization. This condition is worsened by monotonous teaching methods and a lack of innovative learning media. This study employed a mixed-method approach with qualitative dominance using a sequential exploratory design. The research subjects consisted of 1 principal, 2 Arabic teachers, and 42 fifth-grade students. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, learning interest questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and strengthened by quantitative descriptive statistics. The results showed that effective teacher strategies in increasing students’ interest in learning Arabic included the use of ice breaking, contextual picture media, simple rewards, singing methods, group learning, and personal approaches to students. The average student learning interest score increased from 64.3 to 81.7 after these strategies were consistently implemented. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of learning strategies based on emotional approaches and local rural student contexts, which has rarely been discussed in previous studies. This study recommends strengthening teachers’ pedagogical competence in designing enjoyable and meaningful Arabic learning.
