Abstract

The revitalization of the teacher's role as murabbi in the digital era is an urgent necessity to preserve the holistic and spiritual essence of Islamic education. The rapid advancement of digital technology has transformed learning interactions, often reducing them to transactional exchanges and diminishing the moral and spiritual bond between teachers and students. This study aims to explore how Fazlur Rahman's double-movement hermeneutic approach to Surah Āli 'Imrān (3:79) can offer a conceptual foundation for restoring the role of teachers as murabbi in the digital context. Using a qualitative library research method that analyzes both classical and contemporary tafsīr and studies on hermeneutics and Islamic pedagogy, the research follows three stages: historical analysis of the verse, extraction of moral values, and contextual application in digital education. The findings reveal that the ideal murabbi embodies intellectual mastery, moral integrity, and spiritual guidance rooted in rabbāniyyah values. The study concludes that integrating these values into digital pedagogy can strengthen ethical and spiritual dimensions in education. Theoretically, it contributes to the discourse on Islamic hermeneutics and digital pedagogy, while practically, it provides insights for teachers and institutions to implement rabbāniyyah-based education in digital learning environments.

Abstract

This study examines the conceptual structure of “disease (maraḍ) within the Qur’anic lexicon, aiming to elucidate the epistemic network of Qur’anic maqāṣid dedicated to preserving human life and its environment. The central research problem lies in how the Qur’an articulates its vision of pathogenic afflictions that obstruct the realization of core human existential objectives, particularly the preservation of life- the foundational maqṣad in Islamic thought. As temporal and spatial conditions change, certain complementary (taḥsīniyyah) objectives may ascend to the rank of necessities (ḍarūriyyāt). The study’s significance rests in demonstrating the adaptability of Qur’anic maqāṣid across time and place, and their role in securing dignified human existence through safeguarding indispensable objectives: religion, intellect, lineage, property, and life itself. It also highlights the aesthetic-ethical philosophy embedded in relevant verses concerning societal privacy and personal dignity. Methodologically, the study adopts an inductive approach to pertinent Qur’anic verses, lexical-semantic analysis, and a historical survey of maqāṣid-oriented exegesis. This framework illuminates how the sacred text addresses pathogenic threats, ensures civilizational continuity, and manifests a distinctive lexical paradigm compared to post-Qur’anic Arabic lexicons. Key findings reveal that the Qur’an systematically links disease and cure to their causes while emphatically advocating preventive measures to curb epidemics, thereby reaffirming the enduring capacity of the Islamic normative framework to address contemporary challenges without compromising its ethical constants.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the status of dowry in the form of prayer equipment from the perspective of Madżahib Al-Arba'ah in Nyalabu Daya Village, Pamekasan District. The research method used is qualitative with interview techniques to understand the existing phenomenon in depth. This study shows that the community tends to regard a set of prayer equipment as a symbol of worship and cannot be used as the main dowry because it cannot be converted or traded at a later date, while the Shafi'i and Hambali schools of thought allow dowries in the form of benefits or services.
