Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to describe the effect of the socio-scientific issue-based inquiry learning model on the critical thinking skills of eighth-grade students in the subject of the digestive system. Methodology: This study used a quantitative experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study was 320 eighth-grade students, with a sample size of 64 students. Data collection techniques used tests. The research instruments used pretest and posttest critical thinking skills. The data analysis technique in this study used N-gain (Normalized Gain) and inferential statistics in the form of an independent sample t-test. Main Findings: The main findings of this study indicate that the socio-scientific issues-based inquiry learning model significantly improves students' critical thinking skills compared to conventional learning with N-gain 0,94 in high category. The test results show a sig. value (2-tailed) = 0.021 (<0.05), which indicates a significant difference between the experimental and control classes. This model is effective because it involves students in scientific investigations based on real social issues that encourage them to think reflectively, analytically, and evidence-based in their decision-making. Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of this study lies in the application of a socio-scientific issues-based inquiry learning model to digestive system material to develop students’ critical thinking skills. The socio-scientific issues used are obesity and GERD. The socio-scientific issues-based inquiry learning model integrates scientific investigation with contextual and evidence-based social analysis.

Abstract

This research aims to learn how the standard education process has been achieved in kwanyar west 1 elementary school. The study is a qualitative descriptive study of observation, interview and documentation. The results show that the standard achievement of process at west kwanyar elementary 1 is 86.5% when compared with all the maximum value to be achieved in the form of standard process. It recommends exploring optimum indicators, especially a maximum indicator of 24 people. Empowerment, use and maintenance of the learning process in the school must be improved. It was intended to enhance the quality of education and the satisfaction of people’s expectations.

Abstract

This qualitative systematic literature review examines whether technology can make fair value (FV) more verifiable by integrating evidence on measurement uncertainty, data availability, data analytics, auditor expertise, and audit assurance. The review synthesizes prior research to identify recurring mechanisms through which technological development may influence FV verifiability. The findings indicate that technology does not eliminate fundamental measurement uncertainty, particularly for Level 3 FV estimates, but can improve verifiability by increasing access to relevant data, strengthening analytical capabilities, facilitating independent valuation procedures, and enhancing audit evidence. However, technological effectiveness depends critically on data quality, task-specific auditor expertise, professional judgment, and appropriate governance. The review further identifies a paradox whereby advanced analytics and artificial intelligence can reduce information uncertainty while introducing new risks related to reliability, explainability, bias, and auditor overreliance. Overall, technology can make FV more verifiable, but its effectiveness is conditional on the interaction of data, technology, expertise, evidence, and governance.

Abstract

Palm kernel shell is solid waste produced from the processing of crude palm oil (CPO). In this context, phosphoric acid (H3PO4) serves as an essential activator for producing an adsorbent with maximum micropore under operating conditions at a temperature of <450oC. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the optimal adsorbent condition of the palm kernel shell using H3PO4activator. The production process was optimized using Response Surface Methodology (RSM) and Central Composite Design (CCD) methods with activator concentration variations of 4%, 5%, and 6%, at activation times of 23 hours, 24 hours, and 25 hours, respectively. The quality of the adsorbent produced fulfilled SNI standard 06-3730-1995, characterized by water content of 1.001%, ash content of 5.767%, missing substance level of 18.932%, and fixed carbon content of 75.301%. Furthermore, this work effectively optimized the RSM and CCD adsorbent production process, achieving 4.785% variation in activator concentration and 24.679 hours activation time.
