Abstract

Structural shifts in the economy during the Industry 4.0 era have transformed labor market demands. The high open unemployment rate among individuals aged 20–24, reaching 15.34% (BPS, 2024), underscores the urgency for final-year university students to develop a strong perception of their employability. This study aims to examine the effect of career adaptability on self-perceived employability among final-year students at Universitas Buana Perjuangan Karawang who are currently unemployed. A quantitative causal research design was employed, involving 326 students from the 2020, 2021, and 2022 cohorts, selected through quota sampling. Career adaptability was measured using the Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS), adopted and adapted by Sulistiani et al. (2018), while self-perceived employability was measured using the Self-Perceived Employability Scale for University Students, adapted from Rothwell et al. (2008). Data analysis was performed using simple linear regression in IBM SPSS Statistics 29. The results indicate that career adaptability has a positive and significant effect on self-perceived employability, with the regression equation SPE = 33.699 + 0.288CA, t = 9.746 (p < 0.001), and a coefficient of determination R² = 0.227. This suggests that career adaptability explains 22.7% of the variance in self-perceived employability, while 77.3% is influenced by factors beyond the scope of this study. Categorization shows that the majority of respondents fall into the moderate category for both variables. These findings emphasize the importance of developing career adaptability through structured career guidance programs in higher education to enhance students employability perceptions and readiness to enter a competitive workforce.

Abstract

Generation Z is deeply engaged with social media, which not only plays a role in the formation of personal identity but also serves as a significant source of emotional stress. This study aims to examine the influence of self-compassion and father involvement on emotional regulation among Generation Z in Karawang. A quantitative approach with a causal design was used in this study, which involved 204 participants. The research instruments used were the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) to assess emotion regulation, the Self-Compassion Scale (SCS) to assess self-compassion, and the Reported Father Involvement Scale (FIS-R) to assess father involvement. The results of the simultaneous test showed a positive and significant effect (Sig. 0,000). Based on the positive unstandardized beta coefficients, it can be concluded that high levels of self-compassion and father involvement result in high levels of emotion regulation among Generation Z in Karawang. The overall effect size was 51,6%. The resulting, categorization indicates that self-compassion falls within the moderate range, father involvement within the low range, and emotion regulation within the high range. This study aims to deepen understanding of self-compassion and the role of fathers in fostering positive and adaptive emotional regulation among Generation Z.

Abstract

Work readiness is essential for high school students who may enter employment immediately after graduation, particularly in industrial regions where youth unemployment remains high. This study examined whether self-efficacy and perceived social support predict work readiness among students at a public high school in Karawang, Indonesia. A quantitative correlational design was employed with a population of 1,284 students. Using stratified random sampling and the Krejcie-Morgan sample-size table, 296 students were selected. Data were collected using the Work Readiness Scale, the 12-item General Self-Efficacy Scale, and the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support. The instruments were reviewed through a tryout involving 31 respondents before the main data collection. Multiple linear regression was conducted with JASP. Self-efficacy significantly and positively predicted work readiness (t = 5.079, p < .001), and perceived social support was also a significant positive predictor (t = 2.963, p = .003). Jointly, both variables significantly predicted work readiness, F(2, 293) = 28.78, p < .001. The model explained 16.4% of the variance in work readiness (R² = .164), indicating that personal confidence and supportive relationships contribute to students' preparation for employment, although other career-related factors remain influential. Schools and families should therefore strengthen sustained career guidance, confidence-building activities, and supportive communication to improve students' transition into work.

Abstract

Learning motivation is essential for sustaining adolescents' engagement, persistence, and academic development, yet preliminary evidence from a public junior high school indicated that 61% of students had low motivation. This study examined self-control and family support as simultaneous predictors of learning motivation among junior high school students. A quantitative cross-sectional predictive design was used. The population comprised 580 students, from whom 231 participants were selected through grade-based quota sampling with sample size guided by the Krejcie-Morgan procedure. Data were collected using Likert-type scales measuring learning motivation, self-control, and family support and were analyzed through multiple linear regression in SPSS 26. The model was significant, F(2, 228) = 216.574, p < .001, and explained 65.5% of the variance in learning motivation (R = .809, R2 = .655, adjusted R2 = .652). Self-control was a positive predictor (B = .559, beta = .256, t = 5.884, p < .001), while family support showed a stronger positive contribution (B = .468, beta = .663, t = 15.264, p < .001). The findings indicate that motivated learning in early adolescence is jointly associated with students' capacity to regulate impulses and with informational, emotional, instrumental, and appraisal support from their families. Schools should therefore combine self-regulation development with structured family engagement. Longitudinal, multi-school, and multi-informant research is recommended to test causal pathways and contextual variation.

Abstract

Teacher well-being has become an important issue due to increasing work demands, administrative pressures, and emotional challenges faced by teachers, particularly Generation Z teachers who are in the early stages of their careers. Although previous studies have examined various factors associated with teacher well-being, studies simultaneously examining the roles of Work-Life Balance and Perceived Organizational Support in Teacher Well-Being among Generation Z teachers remain limited, particularly in Karawang. This study aimed to examine the effects of Work-Life Balance and Perceived Organizational Support on Teacher Well-Being among Generation Z teachers in Karawang. This study employed a quantitative approach with a predictive correlational design. The participants were 204 Generation Z teachers aged 19–29 years residing in Karawang, selected using convenience sampling. Data were collected using the Teacher Well-Being Scale, Survey of Perceived Organizational Support, and Work-Life Balance Scale and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that Work-Life Balance and Perceived Organizational Support each had a positive and significant effect on Teacher Well-Being. Simultaneously, both variables also had a significant effect on Teacher Well-Being among Generation Z teachers in Karawang. These findings highlight that maintaining a balance between work and personal life and perceiving adequate organizational support are important factors in promoting the well-being of Generation Z teachers. The findings imply that schools should develop work policies that facilitate work-life balance, recognize teachers’ contributions, and strengthen organizational support for teachers’ needs and well-being. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan teacher well-being Scale, Survey of Perceived Organizational Support, dan Work-Life Balance Scale. Data dianalisis menggunakan regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Work-Life Balance dan Perceived Organizational Support masing-masing berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap teacher well-being.
