Abstract

Height measurement is an important activity in community health services, particularly for growth monitoring and anthropometric data collection. However, manual height measurement processes often face challenges such as time inefficiency, potential reading errors, and inconsistent measurement results. This community service activity aims to implement an automatic height measurement device based on Arduino Uno and an ultrasonic sensor as a simple technological solution to support community health service activities during the Community Service Program (PENGABDIAN KEPADA MASYARAKAT) in Pringgasela Selatan Village. The implementation method includes device design, system assembly, functional testing, and direct application of the device in community service activities. The results show that the automatic height measurement device provides relatively consistent measurement results compared to manual methods and simplifies the measurement process by delivering quick and easily readable outputs. The application of this device also improves the efficiency of health service activities and supports the provision of more practical measurement data. Therefore, the Arduino-based automatic height measurement device can be utilized as a supporting tool for community health services using simple technology.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the skills, creativity, and economic potential of women members of the PKK group in Kembangsari Village through a training session on leaf-based ecoprint techniques using cotton fabric. The activity was conducted in a single mentoring session involving 30 participants. The implementation method consisted of delivering fundamental material on ecoprint principles, demonstrating the pounding technique, facilitating hands-on practice, and evaluating both the participants’ artworks and their attitudinal changes before and after the training. Throughout the activity, participants were able to understand each production stage ranging from leaf selection, motif arrangement, and pounding, to the color-fixation process. The resulting ecoprint works showed good visual quality, although several participants required additional time to determine more harmonious motif compositions. In terms of affective outcomes, there was a noticeable increase in motivation and self-confidence: 20 participants expressed their intention to continue practicing ecoprint at home, and 12 participants identified ecoprint as a potential source of additional income. Challenges encountered during the program included inconsistent leaf pigment quality, variations in leaf conditions, and limited time that prevented exploration of other ecoprint techniques such as bundling and tataki-zome. However, these challenges were relatively minor and provided opportunities for further capacity-building activities. Overall, this program successfully improved participants’ knowledge and practical skills, while also pening prospects for the establishment of an ecoprint craft group as a creative local product identity of Kembangsari.

Abstract

Abstract

Soybeans are one of the largest food commodities in Indonesia. Tempe is a soybean product that is a daily staple in Indonesian cuisine. Tempe is a traditional food with high nutritional value, and it is consumed by almost all ages. A common problem is that tempeh doesn't last long after being purchased at the market. Poor quality tempeh affects its taste when consumed. Poor quality tempeh is usually caused by unpredictable weather during the fermentation process and a short storage period. This can increase food loss and waste (FLW). FLW itself is the loss and waste of food, making FLW monitoring crucial for improving food security and mitigating climate change. By measuring and monitoring temperature and humidity parameters in real time, the system integrates IoT technology, such as the DHT11 sensor, to measure temperature and humidity, ensuring that the tempe fermentation process is maintained at a stable temperature and runs optimally.Furthermore, because it is IoT-based, the temperature on this device can be monitored in real time via a smartphone, provided it is connected to the internet. In the monitoring application there is an interface that displays the temperature and humidity at that time and there is a bottom for turning the lights and fans on or off manually.

Abstract

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi sistem cerdas berbasis IoT dan pemanfaatan pupuk organik dari limbah rumah tangga berhasil memantau parameter lingkungan secara real-time melalui aplikasi Virtuino, mengotomatisasi penyiraman tanaman, meningkatkan efisiensi penggunaan air sebesar 40%, serta mendukung pengurangan volume sampah organik dan penghijauan lingkungan secara berkelanjutanKata kunci: Internet of Things, Smart Farming, Pupuk Organik, Monitoring Tanaman, Smart Environment, ESP32  AbstractSustainable residential environmental management is currently facing challenges due to poor household organic waste management and the inaccuracy of conventional plant maintenance methods, which lead to inefficient water use. This study aims to integrate the concept of green engineering through the utilization of organic fertilizer and Internet of Things (IoT) technology to optimize plant maintenance. The research methodology began with an environmental survey, followed by the production of compost from local organic waste using EM4 fermentation and the design of an automatic control system based on the ESP32 microcontroller integrated with DHT11 and soil moisture sensors. The results demonstrate that the integration of an IoT-based intelligent system and organic fertilizer derived from household waste successfully monitored environmental parameters in real time through the Virtuino application, automated plant irrigation, improved water-use efficiency by 40%, and contributed to the reduction of organic waste volume and sustainable environmental greening Keywords: Internet of Things, Smart Farming, Organic Fertilizer, Plant Monitoring, Smart Environment, ESP32
