Abstract

Background: Lead exposure remains a significant occupational health issue in the mining industry, where workers are frequently exposed to dust, particulate matter, and contaminated environments. While research has increased, the literature often develops in separate thematic streams, making it difficult to capture the overall structure and relationships between key areas of study. Objectives: This study aims to map research trends and thematic developments related to lead exposure and occupational health in the mining industry from 2015 to 2025. The goal is to provide a comprehensive bibliometric overview of the field and identify dominant and emerging themes. Methods: A bibliometric approach was applied using Scopus-indexed publications. Peer-reviewed articles and review papers published between 2015 and 2025 were screened for relevance, resulting in a dataset of 133 documents. Descriptive analyses examined publication trends, subject areas, document types, leading journals, authors, affiliations, and contributing countries. Keyword co-occurrence analysis was performed using VOSviewer to map thematic patterns. Results: The volume of publications increased significantly after 2020, peaking in the early 2020s. Research predominantly focused on environmental and health-related topics, driven by empirical studies. The thematic mapping revealed three major clusters: (1) mining assessment, (2) epidemiological outcomes, and (3) occupational health risks. Although connections between exposure assessment and health outcomes were observed, these relationships remain weak. Conclusions: Research on lead exposure and occupational health in mining has shown sustained growth and thematic maturity. However, there is limited integration between exposure monitoring and health outcome studies. Future research should focus on integrating exposure monitoring with health outcomes, particularly in high-risk mining sectors.

Abstract

Agricultural soils are increasingly affected by contaminant accumulation, nutrient imbalance, and declining biological quality, while environmentally safer remediation strategies remain limited. This study synthesizes scientific evidence on the use of microalgae as biotechnological agents for the remediation and improvement of agricultural soil quality through a systematic literature review approach. A total of 17 eligible articles were selected through PRISMA 2020-based screening and analyzed qualitatively. The synthesis focused on the application forms of microalgae, their reported soil-related functions, and the limitations and future directions emerging from the current evidence base. The reviewed studies indicate that microalgae and microalgal products can contribute to pollutant removal, nutrient recovery, soil amendment, fertilizer substitution, biomass valorization, microbial community modulation, and biological soil improvement in agricultural systems. However, the available evidence remains limited and is still dominated by laboratory-scale, greenhouse, pot-based, and context-specific studies. Overall, microalgae represent promising but still developing biotechnological agents for sustainable soil remediation and quality improvement. Broader field validation, long-term assessment, safety evaluation, and scalability analysis are still needed before wider application in agricultural systems.

Abstract

Waste management in Bedahan Subdistrict, Sawangan District, Depok City, particularly in RW 01, is still not optimal. The common practice of piling and burning waste poses risks of disease and environmental degradation. An eco-friendly solution is the utilization of maggots (Hermetia illucens). Maggots can decompose 50-60% of organic waste, produce high-quality compost, do not spread diseases, and can be used as animal feed. This community service program aimed to raise awareness among residents of RW 01 Bedahan Subdistrict about eco-friendly organic waste management. The methods implemented included a preparation phase (area observation, coordination, and preparation of educational materials) and an implementation phase, which involved education on waste sorting and management using maggots, followed by a maggot maintenance demonstration at the RW 01 Nutrition Garden. The results indicated an increased understanding of sustainable waste management among the community. Participants gained knowledge about maggot cultivation and utilization, and an organic waste management committee was established within RW 01. Activity evaluations showed that 52% of participants considered the materials appropriate and 48% highly appropriate to the theme, while 52% found the program highly beneficial. It is hoped that this initiative can be implemented sustainably to reduce the negative impacts of waste accumulation and burning.

Abstract

The issues commonly faced by female workers are related to psychosocial hazards, which can lead to work stress among female workers. Unmanaged work stress can have negative effects on the health of female workers, one of which is menstrual disorders. This study aims to analyze the psychosocial hazards and the menstrual disorders frequently experienced by female workers. This research is a literature review, with Google Scholar used as the database for article searches. The literature search criteria in this study followed the PICOS approach. The results of this literature review indicate that work stress is associated with menstrual disorders in female workers. The most frequently reported stressor is workload, while the menstrual disorders experienced by female workers include premenstrual syndrome, dysmenorrhea, and abnormal menstrual cycles.

Abstract

Abstrak: Remaja putri rentan mengalami double malnutrition, yakni obesitas dan anemia, yang berdampak pada kesehatan reproduksi dan kualitas hidup; Pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kapasitas Duta SAE dan kader pendukung Kampung SAE dalam pencegahan obesitas, anemia, serta promosi kesehatan reproduksi; Kegiatan dilakukan melalui penyuluhan tentang obesitas, anemia, dan kesehatan reproduksi kepada 18 peserta, dilanjutkan dengan demo dan simulasi pengolahan pangan lokal. Evaluasi efektivitas dilakukan dengan pre-test dan post-test; Terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan peserta. Sebanyak 83,3% (15 orang) meraih nilai 100, 11,1% (2 orang) nilai 90, dan 5,6% (1 orang) nilai 80. Tidak ada nilai di bawah 80 pada post-test. Rata-rata skor meningkat dari 92,22 menjadi 97,78; nilai minimum naik dari 70 ke 80, sementara maksimum tetap 100. Hasil ini menunjukkan peningkatan hardskill peserta dalam memahami pencegahan anemia dan obesitas.Abstract: Adolescent girls are vulnerable to double malnutrition, namely obesity and anemia, which affect reproductive health and quality of life. This service aims to improve the capacity of SAE Ambassadors and SAE Village supporters in preventing obesity and anemia, as well as promoting reproductive health. The activity was carried out through counseling on obesity, anemia, and reproductive health to 18 participants, followed by demonstrations and simulations of local food processing. The effectiveness was evaluated through pre-tests and post-tests. There was an increase in the participants' knowledge. A total of 83.3% (15 people) scored 100, 11.1% (2 people) scored 90, and 5.6% (1 person) scored 80. No one scored below 80 on the post-test. The average score increased from 92.22 to 97.78; the minimum score rose from 70 to 80, while the maximum remained at 100. These results indicate an improvement in participants' hard skills in understanding the prevention of anemia and obesity.

Abstract

Risiko kebakaran di lingkungan sekolah sering terabaikan, padahal dampaknya dapat berupa kerugian aset hingga korban jiwa. Pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan literasi mitigasi kebakaran siswa melalui media gamifikasi digital berbasis skenario. Metode Participatory Action Research (PAR) dilaksanakan di SMP–SMA Islam Al-Falah Rempoa melalui diagnosis bersama guru, pengembangan media gamifikasi, sosialisasi, pelatihan, dan evaluasi pada 43 siswa (desain one-group pretest–posttest). Rata-rata skor meningkat dari 9,16 (SD = 1,27) menjadi 9,88 (SD = 0,45) (selisih 0,72; 95% CI 0,41–1,03; p < 0,001). Item tentang tata letak stop kontak aman menunjukkan peningkatan tertinggi (67,4% menjadi 97,7%). Gamifikasi digital efektif sebagai media edukasi keselamatan kebakaran yang menarik bagi siswa

Abstract

Background: Automotive workshops are part of the informal sector that often operates without adequate occupational health supervision. Workers are at risk of lead exposure originating from dust, paint, vehicle painting processes, welding, and exhaust emissions. Lead is a toxic metal that can enter the body through inhalation, ingestion, or skin contact, and subsequently accumulates in the blood, soft tissues, hair, and bones. This study aims to determine the lead levels in the hair of informal automotive workshop workers in Indonesia as a biomarker of heavy metal exposure. Methods: This research is a literature review examining various studies on lead exposure among informal automotive workshop workers through hair analysis. The analysis was conducted using the PECO (Population, Exposure, Comparator, and Outcomes) framework, and the findings were then compared descriptively to illustrate the level of lead exposure and its potential health risks. Results: The review indicates that informal automotive workshop workers in Indonesia consistently experience lead exposure, which is detectable through hair biomarkers. The five studies analyzed confirm lead accumulation due to chronic exposure to dust, welding fumes, vehicle emissions, and work material residues. The level of exposure is influenced by age, length of employment, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). In general, workers with a longer duration of exposure showed increased lead accumulation. The impacts of this exposure include impaired blood formation, decreased neurological function, kidney damage, and reproductive disorders. Conclusion: Informal automotive workshop workers face a high risk of lead exposure from their work environment. Lead accumulation increases with the length of employment and has the potential to cause long-term health disorders. Strengthening regulations, increasing education regarding PPE, as well as conducting routine monitoring and management of the work environment are necessary to minimize these risks.
