Abstract

The coffee shop industry in Indonesia is growing rapidly due to the wide availability of coffee and high domestic demand. However, leading brand Kopi Kenangan faces strong competition from both local and international players, resulting in a decline in brand index and fluctuating sales. Building strong customer relationships through visual branding, especially the brand logo, becomes important. This study examines how brand logo benefits influence customer relationship quality, with brand stereotypes as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach with purposive sampling was applied to select 200 respondents who had purchased Kopi Kenangan products within the past three months. Data were collected through an online questionnaire and analyzed using the structural equation modelling technique. The results indicate that aesthetic and self-expressive benefits positively affect warmth and competence stereotypes. These stereotypes, in turn, significantly improve trust, satisfaction, and commitment, although the mediation effect is consistent only for aesthetic benefits. The findings suggest that companies should ensure consistent and visible logo use across marketing channels to strengthen brand stereotypes and enhance long-term customer relationships.

Abstract

The rapid transition of the global halal fashion industry may require a series of innovations and adaptations in the MSMEs sector. Therefore, technology adoption and organizational openness to change are the main challenges for stakeholders. This study was conducted to examine and analyze the effects of technology, organization, and an increasingly competitive environment on halal adoption in the MSME weaving sector. By using a purposive sampling technique with certain criteria, as many as 30 MSMEs owners or members were obtained to contribute and respond to the research questionnaire, and then those responses were analyzed through the Structural equation model technique with Smart-PLS software's latest version. Results stated that halal adoption in the MSMEs weaving sector is not affected by technological and organizational aspects, it is due to a lack of openness to accept the changes, then most of the actors also thought that halal adoption didn’t provide value-added. Therefore, the motivation for human resource development and technology utilization was also low. Halal adoption is significantly affected by environmental aspects. External pressures such as market demand and government regulations will force weaving MSME actors to adapt to the changes for business sustainability and maintaining national fashion cultural heritage.

Abstract

Banun Songket Enterprise is a Minangkabau weaving business group located in Solok Regency. Despite its strong potential, the enterprise continues to face several obstacles, particularly in terms of limited motif design variations and the relatively low utilization of social media platforms for promotional purposes. This community service program aimed to enhance product competitiveness through the creation of more attractive motifs, the use of digital design to accelerate production, and the optimization of social media marketing to expand market reach beyond the local area. The activities were realized through a combination of intensive training and ongoing business mentoring. Training was conducted over two days, while personalized business consultations were held over six months in six sessions. Outcomes were assessed through three stages: socialization and licensing, implementation (including motif design training, digital design, and social media marketing assistance), and monitoring and evaluation. The program successfully produced three new motifs with more appealing designs and established professional Instagram and TikTok accounts for Banun Songket. Both management and artisans showed high enthusiasm throughout the activities. However, challenges remain in ensuring continuous practice for digital motif design and maintaining consistent social media content due to the artisans’ busy schedules in fulfilling weaving orders. Future programs are expected to continue with support from Universitas Andalas and the Solok Regency Government.
