Abstract

This research was motivated by the low reading literacy skills of elementary school students, caused by the limited use of engaging and contextual learning strategies. Third-grade students at SDN Sungai Miai 4 still face difficulties in understanding long reading texts such as folktales, which they often find boring and hard to comprehend. Therefore, this study aims to examine the implementation of using narrative folktale texts to improve the reading literacy skills of third-grade students at SDN Sungai Miai 4. The research employed a simple experimental (quasi-experimental) approach with a descriptive quantitative method. Data were collected through individual reading literacy tests, observations of learning activities, and documentation of the learning process. The results showed that the use of the folktale Timun Mas successfully enhanced students’ literacy skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Students became more active, enthusiastic, and capable of explaining the content of the text in their own words. The learning process also encouraged critical thinking and helped students connect the moral values of the story to their daily lives. Thus, the use of narrative folktale texts proved effective as a learning strategy to improve reading literacy skills while fostering positive character development among elementary school students.

Abstract

Mathematics is an exact science. Sometimes mathematics is a frightening threat among students. Even though they have become part of society, mathematics is still seen as scary and useless. Regardless of how scary mathematics is for some people, mathematics has a multitude of benefits and can be applied in everyday life in society. For example, regarding the distribution of inheritance. Inheritance is property left behind by someone, it is something that many people dream of. Unsurprisingly, there was a struggle over the distribution. This triggers injustice and leads to hostility. So there is a need for precise calculations according to religious law and sharia. In the division, apply mathematical concepts. This research examines the benefits of mathematics as a pillar of Islamic inheritance law in order to uphold justice. Islamic inheritance law originates from the Koran. The aim is to prove that to divide inheritance, people need to understand basic mathematical concepts. The method used is observation of several religious figures and also literature study, using primary and secondary data. The results show that the distribution of inheritance using basic mathematics is understood fairly and well. And also, it is known that people who can share this information understand the basics of mathematics.

Abstract

Negative emotions often hinder personal development, especially within the context of Islamic education. Therefore, it is essential to integrate cognitive approaches with spiritual values to manage these emotions effectively. This study aims to explore how cognitive reappraisal can be applied as a strategy to transform negative emotions into positive ones through spiritual interpretation. The research utilizes a literature review method, collecting data through analysis of religious texts and related literature. Using a qualitative and descriptive approach, this study seeks to provide deeper insights into the relationship between spiritual interpretation and emotional regulation. It is hoped that the study will provide understanding on the importance of spiritual interpretation in managing emotions and enhancing individual well-being. The research findings will include a competency map in learning, as well as strategic steps to implement cognitive reappraisal based on Islamic values. Thus, this study is expected to serve as a reference for educators and practitioners in applying strategies for emotional transformation through a cognitive approach integrated with Islamic spiritual teachings, enabling individuals to better manage their emotions and achieve improved psychological well-being.
